  • A 3D fence simple yet effective anti-deer solution for gardens, vineyards, orchards and tree plantings. Deer experience landing anxiety before jumping because of their eye placement. When initially facing a fence that has both height and depth. This causes the deer to be tentative and more likely to check the electrified fence before jumping. Once they touch their nose to an electric fence, they learn to stay away.

    I like to introduce the deer to the fence using aluminum foil and peanut butter. Bend the foil over the wire and add a little peanut butter to the foil. They rarely come back.

    Would itellibraid 2.25 be an effective conductor as well? Or is the increased visibility of the rope necessary?

      @premier1supplies  Рік тому

      It should work, but we would prefer something thicker (i.e. 4.5mm IntelliRope) for increased visibility.

    Why does the inside fence even need to be hot If the outside strand is the one they encounter and get trained to avoid?

    what's the maximum distance you can spread the posts out? thanks

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  2 роки тому

      That depends on terrain, conductor tension and so on. On some fences we'll go up to 40'. If buying posts, don't base your count on max distance, that will ultimately leave you a few posts short. Give us a call at 800-282-6631 and we'll help you determine your needs.

    It would be helpful if you showed how to install the insulators because it is not clear how to do it

      The terminal insulators were simply tied onto the T-Posts. Soft baling wire could be used as well. This video also shows how to install PI 21 insulators-ua-cam.com/video/raU3YxWhvVA/v-deo.htmlrel=0&modestbranding=1&showinfo=0&autoplay=1

    It is not clear how you connect the three strands from both fences together. And it is not clear how are you then connect one of these strands to the energizer. I’ve looked at all the instructions on your website I looked at all the pictures and I cannot figure it out.

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  2 роки тому

      A wire leading from the energizer's fence terminal is clipped onto one of the conductors (ideally at the end over a RopeLink). Orange PowerLink clips (alligator clips) jump the power from strand to strand.

      Electric Fence? Yes. 3D fence, depends on where the strands are set and size of the dog.

    So when that 30 point buck comes through at 35 miles per hour...with his antlers proud and tall....you really think he will see that fence at all ? You might find your wire somewhere in the neighbors field...maybe a quarter mile away. ( I know Im a dairy farmer and always use electric fence ) . When deer jump fences with grass at all heights on either side....do they hesitate to jump it ? No ! Ive seen deer jump from the road across the entire ditch ( 20 ft. ) hit a 4ft tall new barb wire fence. Pop two barbs and never slow down.

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  3 роки тому +5

      True, they can run into it and burst through.
      We're not stopping that deer, we'd need a tall brick wall to accomplish that. We're stopping the deer walking by, looking for a place to eat. For that purpose, this style of fence succeeds.

    • @jerrylansbury9558
      @jerrylansbury9558 3 роки тому

      @@premier1supplies Very true ! But my experience is that theres more deer that run through an electric fence then just walk by. If a deer goes through it every night its rater ineffective. ( which is common here at my farm ) Once the fence is taken out its open for party time
