Awesome, thanks for sharing, RAF Locking only existed inside my memory until I saw this. My team from RAF Henlow did the PA for the 1982 Flowerdown Fair. Happy Memories.
It was by sheer chance that a mate and I happened to see a vulcan flying around the are late afternoon and deduced that there was an airshow on nearby. We drove in for free and caught the last of the show.
Thanks for the Video. Lovely to see the area and Locking again. Thought i saw my wife, but we were there 81 & 84/85 Unless theres something she hasnt told me.
@@foretrak First one I did was in 1984, The weather was Identical and I did a ride in the Jet Ranger. Cost a Tenner if memory serves, First trip in a Helicopter. Spitfire was gone by 1987.
Omg. What memories. We where there from 80 to 85 my dad Dennis Horrocks was stationed there. We lived at 82 Anson road
The Spitfire Mk 21 was at RAF Locking from September 1969-1986, displayed on a plinth as LA198/JX-C. It now resides in a museum in Glasgow.
We were only talking about the aircraft that were on the camp last weekend, A Spitfire, Canberra, Meteor?
great video, i went to one of the air days at locking in the late 80's, the low flying vulcan set off a lot of car alarms then!
Thanks.
Loved the flowerdown air fairs

Glad you enjoyed it
It's nice to see what it was like back then as I've recently brought an RAF house in locking on woolvers way
I used to live on Woolvers way in the 80’s. Great place to grow up!
Last Flowerdown Fair Air show at Locking was in 1996 (on the same Day as the England Scotland Euro 96 game).
I lived at RAF locking in 1981
the images look older than 1983 ---- i went to WSM college 1974 to 1977 -- the coach looks early 70s !
Yes, it's definitely 83 Duncan. My old Hilman Imp is on the same reel - My first car after passing my test in May of that year.
