She's one of my favorite artists. She has put out a large body of work and it's been fantastic to be able to enjoy her music over decades. This event was so great. Thanks to my colleagues at Northeastern for hosting it.

I always loved her voice. No matter how old she gets she always sounds like a young, naive and innocent girl. I think the sweetness of her voice really sounds great against the grungy guitar sound.

I've read this book and it's well written. Its not another boring rockstar story about drugs, sex blah blah blah. Juliana is very intelligent and articulate.

Juliana Hatfield will always be a very special person/artist to me. I listened to her music almost religiously in my late teens/early 20s. Perhaps one day I will start listening again and see how she has progressed.

Just finished this book. *Spoiler alert* While through the years I've related to many of her more sullen songs, nothing pleases me more than to read that she is beginning to find happiness and contentment in her life. It's all any of us fans have ever wanted for her. And did my ears decieve me, or did I hear the words "new album?!" Let the unbridled anticipation begin....again!

Her book is incredible. For anyone experiencing depression, she describes it perfectly. Show it to anyone who tells you to "just get over it." Felix Pappalardi was murdered in his apartment 3 blocks from where I grew up in Waterside in Manhattan.

I lost contact with the music from about 95 to 08 myself, but the CD 'Gold Stars' got me back on track. 'Beautiful Creature' shouldn't be missed by anyone, I think. eBay it!

Loved this book. Rebecca Gibel is a great voice talent, but does Jules absolutely no justice on Audible. Voice is too unique and powerful to be para mounted.

the harpsichord chapter was the best chapter in the book. too bad she cut the chapter short and didn't mention how felix girlfriend murdered him. the shit was pretty funny!! i suggest everyone getting her book, it was REALLY a good book.

i am glad she narrates creative nonfiction and used to be a rock star. i always liked the lyrics "not the real thing/untrusted/not busted" from "okay okay," and "i can't sing i'm not a singer/i swear i'm gonna kill myself if you bring her" from " feelin' Massachusetts " if her voice would just a little less obnoxious i could take in more material here as she read. in this reading she helps me understand the experience of an actual musician, although I am not one.

I used to really like JH and her music but the last time I saw her it was a free show at Virgin Megastore Union Square and she complained about: the cappuccino machine, the sound, the stool she was sitting on.

A woman fraught with emotional handicaps, including depression, insecurity, anxiety, the list goes on...Saw her live a number of times. Talented songwriter but with minimal stage presence and an awful, squeaky voice. Her book was OK, explains life on the road, and in general, why she she was such a mess in the mid to late 90s and why FM radio abandoned her.

Imagine saying this about Layne from Alice in Chains. When it is a man they are fully allowed to be messed up in any way but women, "YOU DEPRESSED AND ANXIETY RIDDEN MESS!!"
As if almost all artists do not deal with all these same issues.
