Thank you for all of your videos --- I find / found them very helpful and really enjoying learning from you. I also love how "REAL" you are. Most of the youtube influencers seem to just do what I'd consider "infomercials" especially when they get free equipment from the company sending it to them in exchange for a favorable (biased) review. I love that you'll say it as it is --- don't change that!
Good to hear. I finally got two of them received, probably have a third before it's all said and done. It'll still be another month before I get started installing though. Waiting on battery cells too. They're still out in the middle of the deep blue sea somewhere. I'll be using JK Inverter BMS' and hope that won't be too hairy of a startup. But EG4 talks Pylon and so does JK. Should be alright, we'll see. Just got my pv panels in yesterday. Little bit of a pain having to pick them up at the freight terminal and costed me an extra $200 bucks for help with the 1500lb pallet. But I didn't discover until this evening that I had 36 panels instead of the 30 that I ordered and paid for. Expecting to have 12kw in panels turned into 14.4kw (400w/bifacial). Dude, Signature Solar hooked me up! They will hear my appreciation tomorrow no doubt.

Going to test again as Gavin says his single inverter auto restarts after 5 minutes. Maybe different in parallel but will overload a time it to see what it does. Maybe I thought it was longer than 5 minutes and it wasn’t

Yeah these seem to be doing great especially compared to the previous models. Can’t go wrong with Sol-Ark but after playing around with the 18kpv during the install at my parents I think I want one or two lol.
This was an older video I missed somehow. 1:50 as you posted in a later vid - there's a ~4 minute auto restart. I 100% agree with you on the unit's display - let me pick what stays on there and stop auto cycling data.
You likely tripped out on low battery, although the display does not identify warnings/faults very well. All error codes in manual say basically same thing "restart inverter" . That often will NOT clear the issue particularly low battery as you have to come back above voltage/SOC threshold THEN restart. (Manual doesn't describe that fact) manual is crap for diagnostics and had to develop my own table/methods to clear identified faults/warnings.
Thanks for the great update Rodney. I live in Jamaica and have to be considering/researching power options because of the instability of our dollar and the cost of electricity.

Just depends on your budget. The lifepower4 are a great deal but you may need to update. The newer ll-s may work without it but you could need to update any if them depending on manufacture date I would guess
@@rodneyhunt I can confirm that the LLs work without needing a firmware update. Rcv'd 3 last week and I only needed to switch the BMS to LUX protocol. The user manual explains how to do it.
Yes. The generator will need to be pretty big compared to the inverter size though. Might be better using the chargeverter gc to automatically charger batteries from a generator when needed.
You would be better with the chargeverter gc. To use the 6000xp you need a 10kw generator for one inverter. 2=15kw 3=20kw etc. Depending on how many you have in parallel
You can connect a generator to "share" the loads and charge is there is excess gen power available. You can charge automatically if you connect inverter style genset. inverter does not like non-inverter style gensets and overheats quickly if you use.

Would you recommend getting the Eg4 battery that needs the firmware update or is it worth the extra money getting the newer battery that doesn’t need updated thanks
Does the phone app work without internet?
Yes if in bluetooth range! 👍
@@rodneyhunt thanks for the quick answer. I havent heard anyone mention if you could connect and setup the inverters without internet .
Well I didn’t try it but the manual says you can. I just went with the wifi since it was available for me!
Can I hook a generator to this to charge batteries and run house through this unit?
Yes. The generator will need to be pretty big compared to the inverter size though. Might be better using the chargeverter gc to automatically charger batteries from a generator when needed.
Have a 6500 watt generator.
Bro u are using some serious power lol 70kw a day and need more?! Lol
Yes we are. Trying to ring everything as normal. Dryer, water heater, and cooking use tons of power at my house. Big family
It’s good to have a big family, you’re blessed!
Thanks!
