Besides the named interviewees, I saw Peter Skokos, Treasurer of the New York based Anavryti Society along with George Katchihtis, who has been President of the Society for over 25 years and whose family helped fund the monastery renovations. The Anavryti Society is the oldest Greek Based Society in the USA, having been formed in 1901. The Society was active in raising funds to improve the town's school, roads, infrastructure, cafes, motel and of course the Phaneromeni Monastery. I believe the Monk interviewed started his service in 1987 and still serves there to date. The Society celebrates the feast day at St. Demetrios Church in Perth Amboy NJ where many of the early Anavrytiotes emigrated. Your other video of old Anavryti was moving as well.
My Mom, Dad , an in laws were born and raised in ANAVRITI….as well as many other Aunts and Uncles…. ❤️❤️
