On todays Topaz Studio 2 Tutorial we are looking at the Smudge Filter. The Smudge Filter is great for smoothing out skies and water in your photographs. It is also very good at adding Stylistic Effects to your images. I am working with Layer Masking in this Tutorial and showing you how to combine multiple Smudge Filter Effects. Thank you.
You are welcome Niven.
A really terrific informative video. Thank you Dave
I really liked what you did with this image. I am completely new to Topaz and have a lot to learn.
Thanks again for the insight
You're welcome Elf.
Amazing filter. Nice clear demo. Thanks Dave !!
You're welcome Robert.
I like the hint about turning off aware on the brush. My friend took a picture of himself reflected in a water spotted hubcap. Smudge allowed me to get a smooth effect and you can vaguely recognize my friend. Who cares! It was fun.
Great Tip about Smudge for removing reflections. Thanks.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly Abstraction is too strange. But, maybe I should have tried turning down Clarify. I wonder what Topaz Clean does; it's another way of getting rid of details.
Another thank you. A particular shout out for showing the HELP menu...had no idea. Thank You!
You're welcome Stephen.
Excellent and very clear tutorials. Thankyou Dave. I recetly purchased Topaz Studio2 but when I tried the User Guide link inside the program I don't found it. I can't understand why. Is possible to get the user guide in PDF format for example? I would appreciate any help.
I've checked out the smudge filter before and thought "Thant's not for me". But I must admit, with the right image it can produce a great effect. Once again thanks for a great tute. Also, I didn't know about the online help info so thanks for that too.
You're welcome Rob.
Thanks Dave. Do all of the filters in Topaz Studio 2 have presets?
Most of them do Phyllis. AI Clear and Text do not have presets and there may be others. You can still save your own presets on filters without presets.
This was a very helpful tutorial, especially using the layers as you demonstrated. Thanks!
You are welcome Aliceann.
Just a little hint. Can you please cut down on the use of the word "NICE"
I will do my best to accommodate you Ted. Thanks for the feedback.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly and your tuts are VERY helpful. Thank you so much for all your good work
Dave, really enjoy watching all your videos on Topaz studio 2. Question: Any plan to do a video on AI Gigipixel?
Thanks Doug and thanks for viewing. I will be uploading a Gigapixel video within the next few days.
