When my father died, the lamp in my living room started going on and off. My daughter ask mom what is wrong with the light. I said that maybe there is something wrong with the plug. That stopped, then the tv on the other side of the room started going on and off. My daughter again ask mom what is wrong with the tv. I thought a while then I realized and said that it must be your grandfather telling us that he is alright, then my daughter screamed and said stop you are scaring me. It stopped and never happened again. so I do believe in the afterlife and spirits.
Oh yes, read my comment above. I wrote that before I read yours. It is real. My girlfriends husband died. That might after they took his body out and to the morque...all her fire alarms went off....it happened every night until he was cremated. Never happened again.

The coroner, police came and his body was removed. The fire alarms had continued to go off....evenually stopped. It got so disturbing that she had to take them down..
The issue with people being skeptical is because we have been so far removed from our original selves. The dead are around us everyday and there are many people who can communicate with them. When you understand that energy never dies and because of that it's always around you then you can start to believe. However, if you don't want to believe that is totally fine. I sensed the death of a man I hadn't spoken to in decades. On the morning of his death, I experienced the weirdest thing I've ever experienced in my life. Let everyone stand on their own records. I have studied John Edward's books, TV shows etc and I have seen him do things that no one can debunk. The most important than to me is that I am not waiting for proof of any kind. To me he is a teacher just like any other teacher in my life and the lessons that I have learned have made my life energy a more stable foundation to live by. After my mother died the tv was on all of sudden it turned off. I took the remote and tried to turn it back on with no avail. I then physically had to get up and turned on again. It all comes down to what we individually choose to believe. Not everything can be explained in the human world. When she refers to "spirit" I refer to as "energy". I do believe we receive signs or symbols from our loved ones and nothing and no-one could ever change my faith in that and the afterlife.

What I do not understand is why many of you get insulting and angry. You might be wrong. I might be wrong for believing in the psychic that did my reading. Janie// I agree. I know I've spoke to many mediums and a couple of them have blown my mind. They didn't know my name, so they couldn't have looked me up beforehand. They told me things ONLY me and the ones that have crossed over knew. There are REAL mediums, but there are fortunately fakes too which EVERYONE always draws their conclusion on. OR they think it's the devil... the devil doesn't want you to be happy and the readings I got made me extremely grateful and happy. I don't know about communicating with dead. But several times in my life I got a feeling to go somewhere do something all of a sudden which proved to be a godsend saving me. I don't know why this happened but I had no control over it. It happened about only 8 times in my life. So I do believe it was esp as there was no way I would have known what to do on my own.

my friend is a medium who has never met my grandmother because she lived in Ukraine . she passed away in Ukraine, back in March of this year. and she came to my friend ,few weeks ago, and told him she was sorry and is proud of me. mind you, my friend doesn't speak Russian ,he was very confused but listened to her and had to write what she said using English characters but it all made perfect sense to me..it was the only way for my grandmother to reach out to me; I was very sad i didn't get to say goodbye ,she died suddenly ...the fact that she chose my friend who doesn't speak our language is so cool and yes it's true ,mediums are a real deal! don't doubt it..
We all have psychic ability to one degree or another. Skepticism has killed a lot of it. Many of us have had loved ones, who have died, send us some kind of message or sign. They really are just there on the other side. After my father died, several things happened. I suddenly found pennies everywhere. That had never happened before. The music box that he gave me went off by itself. When I was little he used to make fresh-squeezed orange juice for me. After he died, I was stirring some frozen orange juice, and I thanked him aloud for the juice he used to fix for me. Suddenly I felt his hand on my shoulder. He often put his hand there when he was alive. Don't be such naysayers! "There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy!"

I just find it strange, why not all of us then? I believe that some are more open and more intuitive. However, this ability to talk to the dead seems pretty exclusive. I dunno. I don't have it in me to believe it. My own intuition tells me there's something not right with these claims. But I do believe there's more to death than an absolute end. I'm Christian. Well, the word out there is that a medium by itself it's not 100% accurate, if you see someone 100% accurate it's because there is some bull-s**t going on. That's the reason why there are different types of mediums: physical, mental, etc. They all together do get the right info.

I think life after death goes beyond of what happens with the brain when a person dies. I guess technically, I can't prove she's a fake, but look at the evidence. Is it more likely she's a cold reader, or she is talking to the dead? The basic pattern of a cold reader is they make a general, sometimes all inclusive statement. Then the person being read will reply in the affirmative, and give more info. The reader will then repeat the info they were given, and claim they got if from spirit. Listen carefully to this video. She asks the man if he has *something* special of *someones* with him. Can't get much more general than that. *He* tells her it's a wedding ring. She points to "wedding" in the book, but who knows how many other words are in the book? She asks if he named his son after *someone*. Who doesn't? Just think of how many So-and-so Jrs. there are. They are named after the father. I'd guess that 90% of sons are named after someone. The person being read then names the someone.
She bears the burden of proof. It's sometimes referred to as the positive existential claim position - that always bears the burden of proof. She claims she can do something that is extraordinary and beyond the normal known capabilities of human beings - it's not up to us to disprove her claim (we don't have to disprove that people can't do things beyond the scope of human capabilities), but up to her to prove it. As the old saying goes: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence (or something like that).

It amazes me, how some people know the bible good enough to argue with you. If you really want to understand the bible, read the "BEGAT". This will tell you the family tree and the children of everyone, and what they where doing. Match the "Biblical Timelines" (years) to world history, because you can better know who was doing what by time. When my father died, the lamp in my living room started going on and off. My daughter ask mom what is wrong with the light. I said that maybe there is something wrong with the plug. I sensed the death of a man I hadn't spoken to in decades. On the morning of his death, I experienced the weirdest thing I've ever experienced in my life. It did it again several times. I figured she came to let me know she was there and wishing me happy birthday. I said,"Mom thanks for remembering my birthday....but you are scaring me". It all comes down to what we individually choose to believe. Not everything can be explained in the human world. When she refers to "spirit" I refer to as "energy". We all have psychic ability to one degree or another. Skepticism has killed a lot of it. Many of us have had loved ones, who have died, send us some kind of message or sign. They really are just there on the other side. After my father died, several things happened. I suddenly found pennies everywhere. That had never happened before. The music box that he gave me went off by itself. When I was little he used to make fresh-squeezed orange juice for me. After he died, I was stirring some frozen orange juice, and I thanked him aloud for the juice he used to fix for me. Suddenly I felt his hand on my shoulder. I guess technically, I can't prove she's a fake, but look at the evidence. Is it more likely she's a cold reader, or she is talking to the dead? The basic pattern of a cold reader is they make a general, sometimes all inclusive statement. Then the person being read will reply in the affirmative, and give more info. The reader will then repeat the info they were given, and claim they got if from spirit. Listen carefully to this video. She asks the man if he has *something* special of *someones* with him. Can't get much more general than that. *He* tells her it's a wedding ring. She points to "wedding" in the book, but who knows how many other words are in the book? She asks if he named his son after *someone*. Who doesn't? Just think of how many So-and-so Jrs. there are. They are named after the father. I'd guess that 90% of sons are named after someone. The person being read then names the someone.
She bears the burden of proof.
It's sometimes referred to as the positive existential claim position - that always bears the burden of proof.
She claims she can do something that is extraordinary and beyond the normal known capabilities of human beings - it's not up to us to disprove her claim (we don't have to disprove that people can't do things beyond the scope of human capabilities), but up to her to prove it.
As the old saying goes: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence (or something like that).
The burden of proof is on you and her, since you're the ones making extraordinary claims. She cannot prove it, which is why she's never claimed the $1 million prize from CFI for any "psychic" who can prove their abilities. Stop being a paste-eater and open your eyes.
Thats not how it works. The presumption is they can’t. There is a 1 MILLION dollar prize to ANY psychic that can prove they can do what they claim. It amazes me, how some people know the bible good enough to argue with you. If you really want to understand the bible, read the "BEGAT". This will tell you the family tree and the children of everyone, and what they where doing. Match the "Biblical Timelines" (years) to world history, because you can better know who was doing what by time. Like, if the Israelites were in captivity in 1446 BC, then the begat can tell you who they came from and who didn't go into EGYPT. Even learning how the races began and who they came from helps us learn about Noah's sons. Japheth became Europe, Ham became Africa and Shem became Mesopotamia. As the Amazing Randi (James Randi) points out, the spirits can't say their name to the mediums; the mediums are forced to throw out letters until they get a "hit" on a name, but after the name is established and confirmed by the deceased's loved one, then the spirit can suddenly speak in complete sentences.
Why can't they speak in complete sentences right off and just say their full name? Then when posed with direct questions from the loved one (like, "were you murdered by your ex-husband Bill?") they suddenly cannot speak in complete sentences again, but only in "feelings, symbols & images".

Actually, no they don't. They are telling you they do but they are all frauds. 100% of them. I will concede that there are a tiny percentage of them that sincerely believe they are communicating with the dead. A very tiny percentage. Most, like the Long Island Scum Bag, are just outright frauds.
Another interesting tidbit - these alleged mediums cannot put on their show in a room full of Japanese or Asian Indians because they don't know the common names from those cultures & languages. If their power were real they should be throwing out the names of people from other cultures who have died (whether they understand the name of not), but they don't because they don't know those names to begin with - so they end up only looking for "Jim" or "Harry" or names they are familiar with.
Therefore, they will refuse paid invitations to appear at Asian American organizations and basically any non-western, non-American, non-English-as-a-first language groups. They won't even perform for black groups due to the variety of strange names in the black community.

Its a level of understanding LIVING BEINGS would not understand because you are living and have not yet made it to that realm...Once there was a time before you, and there will be a time after you. Life is a phenomenon and so is Death. And sad to say people fear what they don't know because you are not dead you are here and living while a loved one that passed before us is gone to the unknown that we always question...how does it feel to die? What's it like? Is heaven and hell real? Etc... Life and death is a mystery no being was very truly able solve...just take.that time to live and love life and the people in it learn.from it to know from it and grow so that you can spread seeds that you've grown from...everything else has its time❤

That is what you call a "skeptic". Some people don't like to blindly believe in anything they see. I am one of those people.
People will buy that there is a magic man in the sky who created life in 6 days and that Jesus healed the blind but not that there is a woman who talks to the dead. I’m not saying all those things aren’t equally improbable, but at least one of those things has some semblance of evidence on camera. Be consistent people
