I'm so excited! I love this casting for Grover. He's so sincere and a bit awkward. I love how they had him speak first! He's stepping into that Protector role, even in a press conference. He's perfect! Jeffries sounds so intense despite her nervousness. I can totally believe that she's Annabeth. Scobell...his voice alone. He means what he says. I can't wait to put the lackluster PJ movies behind us. He can be Percy. We just have to set aside our predetermined options about what these kids look and sound like, and we'll be loving this show.
I didn’t know what to expect from these kids, but hearing them speak here, they all feel like the perfect fit for their characters! I love them already! Super excited for this series now!
@@puterboy2 Not really, no. If it doesn’t bother Rick Riordan, I don’t see why it should bother me. I’d much rather see three brilliant actors who perfectly embody the personalities of the characters they are playing than see people who look like the book descriptions, but aren’t as strong in the role as others who auditioned. TV and Film stray from book descriptions all the time for endless amounts of reasons- no adaptation is ever going to look exactly as you imagined it in your head when reading. But as long as the characters feel right in their personality and dynamic with each other, and the core elements of the story are still there, you can still have a great adaptation that’s worth watching, even if a few things differ from the original source material.
@@jessyecopsey12 First of all, I wish these kids the best of luck they seem like nice people and with a good of heart, but it's 100% obvious that some changes that Hollywood keep doing right now for a few years, it's to involve political stuff into how they want to go on with their products. I'm all for equality but when it feels forced, I'm going to say it out load and all of this feels forced, period. I'm still excited to see this show, but you can be excited while pointing out the issues just like with everything else in life. Take care!
It would have been so in character when Leah said that Annabeth was the most skilled sword fighter, it would be so in character if Walker said "debatable" as a response to that
after watching videos of these actors i gotta say, i’m impressed by Riordan’s casting. like he said, i thought they captured Percy, Annabeth, and Grover perfectly! Their energy is the same energy i felt the characters give off in the books, which was what really won me over. I can’t wait for this new series to come out, just this interview shows me they’re better than the trashy actors in the Percy Jackson movies.
Big fan of the books and also can’t wait to see the ares fight BTW hope it’s better than it’s counterpart, the movie’s (personality not a big fan of the movie’s)
What is that annabeth girl wearing. Like no hate but I’m so confused is it supposed to be a corset? A tube top? With an untucked white collar shirt? It looks so strange and out of places with everyone else
You do know they edit the sound so we can hear the people on stage, right ? The crowd doesn't sound loud because it was muted in editing. If you look up this clip on UA-cam, you'll find someone from the the crowd who filmed it themself, and we can hear the cheering in full swing.
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Editing the sound is such an obvious part of these events that I can't believe you're asking for it. Literally all expositions do this because we're here to watch the people on stage, not listen to the crowd's screaming 🙄. But whatever here it is ua-cam.com/video/vjBaaX49Jv4/v-deo.html
@@noemiepace9020 First of all, this is literally the very first time that I’ve heard/known of anybody doing this. Please don’t be a smart Alec/know it all.Second of all, this video doesn’t show the crowds enthusiasm towards the clip, and when they announced the actors for Annabeth as she was arriving on the stage you could hear the crowd Reacting quite softly, the softest reaction of the whole video in fact. Walker also doesn’t sound very competent despite what he’s saying at the end there, it even kind of sounds scripted
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Oh my God, dude. Even if it's the first time you hear about it, you should realize it's a decision which makes sense ! And honestly, if you're gonna try and find excuses for your dumb theories, with evidence you pulled out of your ass to get, then I'll just leave. Please, PLEASE realize that what you're saying is just in your head and the crowd reacted perfectly normally, not "softly", NORMALLY. There was zero indication of anything.
I have to agree, I'm all for them don't get me wrong but when they said they would remake the series fixing it to be as accurate as the books this wasn't what I was picturing. If only one of the 3 main characters fits I'm afraid for the others and even more the story. Hollywood is pushing into movies/series ideals that will make them look better. At the same time it is great but it's a conflict of emotions for some like me that understand both sides.
Because if Annabeth was casted to a White and Blond girl people would have said:”Why Annabeth can’t be black?” The same “scandal” happened when a black girl was casted as Hermione for Harry Potter
Percy Jackson has blond hair; Annabeth is black, and Grover Underwood is Indian. Something totally opposite to the book. I want to know why can't they just stay true to the book? I am sure there are kids who look the part and can act the part out there in this big world. Why are they doing this? I watch the trailer, and everything looks cheap and flop. They do what Netflix did and it ends badly for Netflix. If they want diversity, why don't they find a diversity book and make a show about it?
You can really hear the worry in ricks voice when he says “tell us about Your character“, Because he truly knows deep down that he’s made a mistake with casting her As Annabeth [No disrespect in any way towards the actress at all! :-) though Rick is truly showing disrespect in the way that he said it to her, As well as even casting her in the first place, continuing to show what a contradicting bigot he truly is
no he doesnt, hes soo proud of leah as annabeth he brought her with aryan and walker to SHOW the WHOLE PANEL shes ANNABETH, move on bruhh nothing will happen from your cries
@@hiddenblush But it doesn’t change the fact Of how he sounds/seems what he says it. Just because he brings her along doesn’t mean He’s necessarily “proud” of her. What about Percy I think he's a worse choice because he looks nothing like how Percy is described in the books, no sea-green eyes, no black hair and he is supposed to be our main character.
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Of course he's nervous. People are being AWFUL to Leah. He's worried for the poor CHILD let me repeat CHILD that is getting undeserved hate. But this by no means shows regret. He is proud, but also nervous of the backlash from horrible racist people.
Meanwhile HarryPotter sold 500 million books with 7 official novels, 6 additional in print books made over $9 billion at the box office from 11 films with multiple book awards like the Hugo's , Oscar nominations and win and has mostly critical acclaim and has cultural impact Meanwhile LOTR sold over 250 million copies of the books and made over $6 billion at the box office from 6 films with multiple book awards like the Hugo's , Oscar wins and has critical acclaim and has a legacy But sure the percy Jackson demigod series selling 100+ million copies while being a repetitive SJW series is a flex. I would have preferred Lizzie McGuire, but less sassy.

No I’m just saying if we get all the way through season 5 we should get a Hero’s of Olympus show to go along with it
For some reason I thought Leah was skai jackson
