    Amazing!!!!!!!!!! The beauty and the art of turning!!!!! ........It takes me11 months of dreaming, watching, learning, working out to put all together in 3 or 4 weeks! I still love it!

    Skiing is the true only feeling of real freedom. Nothing else can give you such a sensation! Not even flying can be better and more fantastic! Skiing is total enjoyment! But you must ski good,very good otherwise is a pain, a suffering!

    As we are flipping over into our cycling season here in north eastern NA, these images are a true gift, especially that the skiing season was abruptly cut short on all of us :-(
    Thx !

    While their carving is quite extreme, they are using a jack rabbit style where the body and the legs do the initiation of a turn. You are supposed to use your poles to reach forward and initiate the turn. That takes pressure off your body and reduces the amount of effort. There should be less up/down motion and more forward movement at the start of a turn. I’ve been doing this for over fifty years and have been a ski patroller for 30. So I know something about carving.

    interesting to watch the slight differences in how skiers deal with separation. all very good skiers, no disputing that. Not unlike how I was taught to ski, some of the skiers have a "pop" as the turn is initiated. it was coined unweighting. If you watch Paul Lorenz or Reilly McGlashan, the unweighting is minimal at best and at most times not apparent. The upper body is quiet and the lower body is just the opposite. Very interesting to see the differences and both are effective.

    It seems so easy ... but not easy. Maybe it can help with the speed, also not be afraid to fall down but the icy snow don't help . I hope I can try it again at end of year if the Covid agree to let me go.

    The finishing phase of the turns are too short, there needs to be better upper body lower body separation at the end of the turns, and they seem to be in the backseat at the end of the turns.

    • @tinyskier6250
      @tinyskier6250 4 роки тому

      where one learns to do it .... if they're smart about it. Cuz if you can't do it on the baby hill, no way gonna do it anywhere else ... so much easier learning on the baby hill. Plus, once learned, for fine tuning purposes, the baby hill is the best. You'll find all the good skiers on the baby hill at some point of the day. Go for it, be doing it in no time.

      It's from different ski areas. The footage of JF Beaulieu (starting at about 4:19) is from Treblecone New Zealand. The footage of TriggerBoy (starting at about 4:35) is from Levi, Finland. JF Beaulieu is by far the best technical skier on here.

    Linke Seite sehr schlecht. Du hängst mit dem Oberkörper total Richtung Bergseite...nur die Geschwindigkeit hält Dich auf den Skiern. Schaue, dass Du zentraler über dem Ski stehst und den Talski viel mehr belastet. Rechtskruve ganz ok.
