    Greetings Richard!
Congrats on your new steed, I agree totally with the fact that having an easier remount will increase confidence in handling rougher seas👍
BTW, nice water color close to the rocks!
Noticed the tail drifting downwind in the beginning, ... Compared the rocker of Swordfish and Boost, noticing two things: tail rocker is flat until it kicks up at the stern, and a further aft rudder mount on Boost.
Did you have a chance to take the new steed surfing waves before going downwind 🤔❓
Maybe the body lean while surfing needs a readjust to manage the different rocker profile 👍
I've used a tiny rudder for my ski (Epic V5) intended for flat water, on downwind and even surfing. To avoid "losing the tail", I've successfully adjusted the amplitude of my leaning back, and into turns, compared to when I used a larger rudder.
    Hope this helps‼️

hola Josue, long time ! Yes, it is amazing how settled I felt after having done that remount which was a doddle compared to the SFish which is always touch and go !

It's a confidence builder no doubt👍 And being relaxed in the water reduces stress which in turn allows for more intense paddling if needed😊
Please keep us posted on how the Boost goes with a downwind rudder😊

@@ForbesRichardYou're welcome! I approach surfski surfing very similar to long boarding, in that it needs body weight shifting to catch the wave, make the ski turn, keep the tail on check, etc.
Rudders help, and body English too😊
Looking forward to your next video 👍
      Have a great one‼️

Richard, is that knob/screw on top of (I assume securing) the rudder cover standard for Carbonology Sport? Carrying a screwdriver to get the cover off so you can use something like the Mocke device to deal with a broken rudder cable mid downwinder is not the most convenient thing (Fenn, are you listening?). A cover screw handle that can be worked by hand seems like a good idea.

hi there Paul, Yep it is standard on the Carbonology and in fact my Swordy also has it. Since the Swordy is 2yr+ old, and I bought it new, I assume also, that it is now standard of the Fenns. However, the T piece on the Carbonology is such that the Mocke device can not be fitted easily so I have done a very small modification (just a cable tie loop) which I will cover in an upcoming video.
Any warmer weather in sight for paddling nowadays ?

@@ForbesRichard Thanks Richard - good to hear about this new standard equipment.
If you want to be able to use the Mocke or similar temp bungee fix on a Kai Wa'a (their whole small cover cap attaches to their rudder shaft and rotates in their surfskis and OCs ) you have to also add something like your loops (I did this with my OC although losing a rudder cable in an OC is usually not as problematic, particularly if you are familiar with steering with your paddle)

@@ForbesRichard Should be warming soon, although it is snowing right now and this week has been a bit chilly. Last week was somewhat warmer and we had good wind, so it was surprisingly good for our usual downwinders (in full neoprene).

It would take some adjusting for us fair weather SAaffers (even in winter it is not really cold)

I'm a big fan of Carbonology skis and love my BoostX LV but, imho, the stock rudders leave a lot to be desired.

hi Quince, I have ordered my new DW rudder and am hoping that it arrives today or tomorrow morning in time for some predicted big wind tomorrow afternoon.

If you wouldn't mind a random suggestion. To help you reach the 1000 subscribers and build your community, maybe offer something such as an introductory paddle, for those looking to get into the sport. I can say from experience that surf ski paddling is not the easiest sport to get into. So offer an hour-ish paddle on gentle-ish water here in Cape Town to those who subscribe and comment on your next video. As you have more than one ski this could be possible or make an arrangement with a club to borrow. Sometimes your admiring viewers might just need a little nudge to start paddling and to subscribe.

Jack, that is a brilliant idea, thank you. Watch out for the next video !
