Trailer fitter, I have a 110 200tdi. Live in North Carolina. Last week the engine acted like it was starved for fuel. Would run for an hour or so on freeway then would die out. At first felt like splines let go, but when I got stopped, the defender would sputter run about 30mph max, and I had to let off the accelerator to keep it running. Wondered if this could be lift pump or blockage_ can you provide some ideas of what to check. Love my defender by the way. It is an awesome truck, just a bit harder to get parts when I need em. Keep up the good work. Chris Miller
could be anything from the fuel tank to the FIP. Either air leak or a partial blockage. Likely candidates are the filter, or banjo unions where grunge can collect. You may find it is the lift pump if it struggling to pull the fuel from the tank and push it through the filter. Look for obvious defects like chaffing or kinked pipes and things like a sediment in the chassis that may have been neglected. Sorry of the lateness of answering.
Very good tutorial Now I’m clear with my next tool purchases Did you try with Milwaukee drills? I’m working in construction for the last 41 years and my hobby is mechanics (I was car electrician for 3 year wen I was young but later chose construction, and I never forgot my good old times under the hood or on the ground taken down and put back alternators pumps starters solenoids etc) I’m working w Milwaukee tools for the last 6 years and I abuse them to the point others fail and they keep going ,it’s a good cheap way compared to snap on ,only for hobby boys From Miami Julio
On the spanners, consider purchasing a standard fixed set as well as a ratcheting set. The racheting units command a premium but are worth it, trust me!
Just wondered your thoughts on Halfords Advanced? I’ve gone down that route on the advice of several mechanics who have started to use them instead of snap on as they have the lifetime guarantee so if the break then they just get them replaced but there a lot lot cheaper than snap on? Also is it worth buying a rattle gun in any shape or form borrowed one once and it rounded a head on a bolt that was stuck so not used one since?
Really enjoyed that... Must confess at the envy regarding your snap on rattle guns but my big dewalt hasn't let me down yet! Cheers for putting that all together chief :o) Out of interest you didn't put in your choice selection of hammers... Do you need a hand picking some? ;0)

Yeah, we use Milwaukee battery guns and drills. They're good perhaps a little better than Snap On TBH,
Great stuff!
Excellent video! The one tool i was waiting for you to talk about was the type of gloves that were used. Any info on them?
www.paddockspares.com/land-rover-tools-diagnostics/gorilla-grip-gloves.html gloves are here from Paddock.

good if they are not forced. I agree.
I have a sealey battery powered impact wrench and i use it for hours and it works great. Lots cheaper than the snap on.
great, thanks for the heads up on that...
great video

yeah, they are good tools.
I will second that, never had a problem with Halfords Advanced.
I have a draw full of ratchets but seem to grab my old chrome handled Halfords first.
