Marcelito Pomoy is Filipino and has an AMAZING backstory. He is self-taught --
his Dad was incarcerated when Marcelito was young and Marcelito's mom abandoned both him
and his younger sibling when he was only 2.
He was adopted by a police officer, but he was a virtual orphan and lived on the streets
from 8 years old on and only made it through 3rd grade in school.
He started singing when he was 7, but didn't realize until he was 18 that he could do both
male and female voices He doesn't speak English nor Italian fluently (which makes his "The Prayer"
below even more amazing!). He was the Grand Winner of the 2nd season of Philippines Got Talent.
He was also recently on America‘s Got Talent The Champions and blew even more people away with
his amazing talent

Marcelito is a Filipino singer. Born on September 22, 1984 at Bislig in the heart of the Philippines. When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Capital City Manila. His childhood years were a difficult life, for he used to live on the streets to earn something for a living. He’s been singing since 7 years old but only at the age of 18 that he then realized that he could make a career out of it.
UNIQUE TALENT …
Marcelito unique ability is that he can sing in both a male tenor voice and a female soprano voice. Because of this, he’s able to perform popular male-female duets without a partner. He sings both high and low parts, but he switches back and forth between them smoothly.
Marcelito is the winner of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ Season 2 in 2011.
In 2019 he took part in America's Got Talent: The Champions and earned a fourth runner up.
EDUCATION …
Marcelito’s talent in music is indeed God’s unique gift to him, for he did not manage to complete his studies. He doesn’t acquire his talent in music through academic studies, but his naturally cultured dual voices were being developed through his participation in various singing contest.

I read the story that Marcelito Pomoy was working in a poultry farm when he started singing and practicing "The Prayer" while tending to the chickens. That explains the emotions attached to his rendition of the song. It is a cry to God for a better life. Our favorite band is Nightwish and their phenomenal lead singer, Floor Jansen. yes he was self taught since he was a child his father was in prison and his mother abandon him he lived on this streets since he is self taught he would sing when he was scared then he started earning money on tips by singing in malls he later decided to join a singing competition thinking that that be a way for him to find his family well the whole nation was in trying to help him find his mother they found his family and they appeared at his last philippines got talent show in which he won the competition its in his america's got talent show a bit of his life
