some of the videos like Panalo - Ez Mil - she mentioned that she knew it beforehand. It's a shame it this one seems that way despite the truth. I dunno....maybe this one might seem like it's already watched maybe because of bad synchronisation video ?... Juliett is a more dance type of person so she's moving to music all the time - which is why you might think that. Also she's heard muuuuch more singers than I did and range and acrobatics are let's say, less impressive to her than to me. While she'd already jam to it, I'd just stare with my mouth open.
Anyway, just in case, our together videos will be posted from now on every 2 weeks because they take twice as long to edit because of the synchronisation at distance through skype. :) so we will both post solo reactions much more often as well. you guys will feel free to spend time with both of us individually :)

This is Juliett. I watched it many times! I never said - FIRST TIME REACTION. I analyze only the best performances- so I watch it first and then bring it to Val. She usually hears it for the first time, me never. If you search for 1st time reaction, you should find another channel or a video that says- FIRST TIME REACTION. I never said I will be doing that. "SAY SOMETHING " On The Same Show , Please

Just so you know, the auto tune at the beginning was an artistic choice. KZ is not only a singer, she's an artist. Her rendition of rolling in the deep in this instance is almost theatrical.
Here's my take on her performance which I believe has several creative layers: interpretation of the story in the song, melodic changes, vocal style, and stage presence. I want to share what I feel about how KZ interpreted the story.
The creative decision to start with an acoustic guitar and then the utilization of the auto tune is pure genius. The guitar implies romance that rolled into some sort of a bubble as soon as KZ begin singing with the auto tune. The transition is confusing- acoustic to auto tune - exactly what KZ wants to evoke (what happened after she gave her all in love?). The robotic sound effected by the auto tune is a reference for manipulation as KZ (who feels treated like a robot) sings "you played it... you played..." while standing still in that dark stage, her facial expression is sad and defeated. She wanted to break away from this unfortunate state.When KZ belts out a sustained note with the auto tune, that signals breaking away from the dark - she pushed it away (see her hand gesture before the sustained belt). The camera moved and rolled (underline rolled). The stage is now filled with streaks of light. She's free! She's no longer sad. But she's angry because something beautiful is all put to waste.
It takes a technical vocal skill to utilize an auto tune in a live performance especially when KZ is clear what feeling she wants to communicate with her audience. KZ "owned" this song right in the very beginning. The rap is just a bonus. My two cents.

KZ is an avid fan of Jessie J and she acknowledged to her that she was her inspiration during their stay both in this competing show. In this performance she show off her R&B and Jazz background by vocal rifts and scatting. She hurt her vocal chord up to the point to had polyps due to: self taugh learning to sing. But showing instead that you don't need high notes to do a great performance. She did actually end up beating Jessie this week at the competition.

Great reaction! I've subscribed. Very astute observations by Juliett. KZ was very much influenced by Jessie J. When they met for the first time, once KZ got over being starstruck and could breathe again, KZ told Jessie J how much of an influence she had been. KZ also talked about how she had developed vocal polyps as a teenager. She had surgery to remove them but she lost the higher part of her range, so she's not going to hit the high notes any more. Instead, she's worked on creative arrangements like this one. Here's the 3 minute clip from The Singer when KZ met Jessie J.
