Jenniferrosenyc has a similar hair philosophy (most important tips are shampooing 1-2 times a week at minimum). Before anyone reads this: You likely have products at home that have no oil or butter within the first 5 ingredients, try those for the detox before spending so much money if you can help it. Anyway, now on to the list.. (Please check the ingredients of the products to make sure there are no oils/butters in the first 5) she recommends: Redken All Soft, Paul Mitchell Extra Moisture, Pantene (NOT the natural line), Kera Care (their hydrating detangling shampoo, but not their humecto), Creme of Nature, Mizani, Olaplex shampoo conditioners, Matrix color shampoos, Aussie 3 minute miracle, Biolage, Quantum Clarifying shampoo. She doesn’t mind sulphates or silicones and feels like using them 1-2 times a week will not be an issue, they are more problematic for people who shampoo/condition daily. She has YT lives, Instagram, as well as Twitter! Also for styling, she likes Nairobi wrap foam for twist outs and braid outs (must use with heat) and Eco-styler for wash and go’s (dilute if your hair is fine). [Note: Black Girl Curls does not like Eco, they prefer botanical gels]. Don’t overthink it, the most important thing for detoxing is to wash your hair 1-2 a week, that will make the biggest difference. Regular trims from a stylist will also have a large impact. Some products may be misspelled, I did not look up each product to confirm :)
Great! I watch Jenniferrose too. I typically follow her everywhere on social media. Thanks a lot for this input. One most important thing I have realized is that, I’d pay more attention to products for my shampoo and conditioner because these are the steps that seems very critical to my hair’s health. Also, figuring out techniques in styling so that I can work whatever styling products even eco 😊
@@missserwaa_ What are some things that you consider when choosing a shampoo and conditioner? Very try about styling, the technique is key!! As well as the techniques for washing, conditioning, detangling.. it can make an exceptional impact
@@anipond7384 Your first five should have surfactants be it sulfate or free e.g. Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Olefin Sulfonate etc. Your conditioner depends on the job. I don't do the 30 day detox, but I've always utilized some of the principles because they work for my low porosity hair. I recommend Garnier Fructise Pure Clean Gel. It's a 98% natural botanical gel, and it gives me incredible hold, shine, and definition with zero frizz and very little crunch. It's also cheap. I get it for like $3.50 a tube. I also want to try the Mielle and TGIN gels you named, since they are Black owned and botanical.
Giovanni 50/50 hydrating and clarifying shampoo and conditioner is one of my favorite. Love TGIN shampoo, green tea leave in,CR almond jai and the curl maker🙂
I followed a UA-camr who also did the detox and has a fb group and she posted a list of recommended and alternative products so I’m glad about that and I also use some of products you mentioned. I live in the Caribbean and it’s also difficult to order certain products. But I recently paired up with a curly stylist so I can’t wait for virtual classes as my country is currently under a curfew/lockdown!
My current favorite shampoo and conditioner are Giovanni Smooth as Silk. They meet the requirements if you follow the black gurl curls guidelines. For styler I am currently using Mielle organic curls and coils custard and the Doux big poppa gel for my topper. I get good results that last a week.
I’m thinking of trying the Mielle custard but difficult to get the Doux big poppa. Have you tried the Mielle custard on its own and how long did your style last?
@@TunrayoA Mielle custard has a lot of humectant so I layer another product on top to get hold. If I only use the custard I think my hair would shrink and draw more moisture from the air.
Love the Giovanni products. I use Smooth Silk shampoo, and the 50/50 hydrating conditioner. Reasonably priced and very concentrated a little goes long way.
Your hair is Gorgeous💯🔥♥️ and you have such a wonderful personality and very Beautiful. For clarifying the hair, I would recommend also Trader's Joe Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and conditioner. It has certified organic botanical ingredients including Peppermint and Tea Tree and a host of other natural ingredients. I would recommend doing a moisturizing deep conditioner like the Aussie Moist 3 Minute Deep Conditioner after using this conditioner because the Trader's Joe conditioner has the same ingredients as the shampoo and it can make your hair feel dry without following up with a moisturizing conditioner or product. Great video♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Just as the first comment said, it is a word created by the @iamblackgirlcurls to describe gels that we use on top of the base gels , they mostly provide more hold and is anti-humidity too.
I’m glad! No please. I have a curl coach who guides me virtually. I join her class. No trusted stylist in Ghana yet, at least I haven’t found any yet 😊
So the first styler which is a botanical gel is what i apply directly to my hair and because it is plant based it holds onto the water in the hair. It does have a hold which isnt enough for me so I go in with my second styler (topper gel) for climate reasons. If the first styler alone is good for you, you dont have to use a topper gel.
I love the shape and style of your hair. I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of the super side part that everyone is doing these days. It looks weird. Reminds me of those funny looking comb overs that some balding men do. I prefer the middle part.

Right. My current protective style is a lace front. When I get this out I’m going to cut my hair again and wash it

Can you recommend fragrance free or minimal fragrance, because many Black hair care products have strong fragrances.
I will look that up and get back to you.

The thin literally ha cocoa and Shea butter as the 4th and 5th ingredients
Which product please? I know Cocoblack has Shea butter as 5th ingredient. So which other product?

Thank you sweetheart
How does the wash n go hairstyle hold up for someone who exercise 4 days out of the week?
would you recommend using Hawaiian silky triple butter curling buttercreme and aunt jackie gel as topper?
I wouldn’t recommend because I won’t use buttercremes for a wash and go in the first place.
What is a topper gel? You hair looks great!
A topper gel is a gel that will protect your hair from the environment (humidity )
Just as the first comment said, it is a word created by the @iamblackgirlcurls to describe gels that we use on top of the base gels , they mostly provide more hold and is anti-humidity too.
Thank you ladies 😊
Cerwah can I use only a mouse for a wash and go?
if it works for you, thats fine. Just use a mousse with no oils in the first five ingredients
The Doux Mousse Def says it can be used for wash and gos.
Thanks for providing these options.
Very helpful!

explain why would we use 2 stylers to style the hair. whats the difference in the two

It does have a hold which isnt enough for me so I go in with my second styler (topper gel) for climate reasons. If the first styler alone is good for you, you dont have to use a topper gel.
Well I live in Alabama. It's very humid here so I probably need to try a topper. Thanks for the explaination.
As “AS I AM” products are BOMB
That’s nice. I don’t do brands in particular, I do specific products but I love their leave in conditioner and their cowash
@@missserwaa_ I use their whole range now, clarifying shampoo, leave in conditioner, curling jelly and smoothing gel. Less to no oil
Does coco black not have shea butter in the too ingredients? Does it matter?
Shea butter is the fifth ingredient and as a topper it works great. You may as well get the Innersence Beauty I create hold.
I didn't know this included shampoos and conditioners. I thought it was just leave in product. 🤦🏾♀️
It’s Cleanse ,condition and style so yh right from shampoo to styler
