Vordt's theme is some of the greatest boss music I've ever heard, it's such a shame he dies so quickly once you've grasped the game cuz you don't really get to hear it.

Yeah me the one cough out guard is his 2nd phase when he attack like bull in first i don't even realize he have that Frozen breath the camera stuck and i just hit and hit like crazy barely survive some crazy luck i guess

For some reason it seems that MOST non humanoid bosses have the glaring "stay underneath to avoid most attacks" weakness like vordt.
Weird how that's strategy of 99% of soulsborne bosses, but some people just can't catch on

@@boxorak yep, that's exactly why you keep dying, you would know that, like I said, 99.99% of the bosses can't even hit you if you just camp under them. As soon as vordt slams his hammer back up wait for him to charge roll into the 3 charges and start camping under his belly. This has been a strategy in almost every souls game. Ask ant souls veteran and they will tell you the same. I have 1000's of collective hours in the souls series. Trust me guy....it works 😉

Vordt is a pretty mean boss for so early in the game, especially for anyone who's either never played this kind of game, or very few.
In general, DS3 feels a bit too tuned to pre-existing players, it doesn't ease you in as much as others.
DeS, DS1 and DS2 have a much more cozy and safe start, BB's a little mean, but not too much.
Vanguard is purely optional and Phalanx teaches patience to new players.
Asylum Demon's really easy so long as you stay calm, and Taurus tends to teach that bosses sometimes have tricks to make them easier.
DS2 just opens right up to you, and either Last Giant or Dragonrider are very simple bosses, and both have available NPCs who make for good distractions. Old Dragonslayer, while not that hard, does have some tricks up it's sleeves.
It could be much worse if you ask me, he has relatively low health and often leaves himself wide open and besides the original concept of these games was learning from previous mistakes, something that gets thrown out of the window the moment it became a trend to just pick the cheapest gimmick and the most powerful weapon to guarantee a victory and there is also a summon available I think
I will not judge others for their opinion but I felt defeating Vordt more rewarding then any other previous early-game Souls Bosses that ended up being reused enemies in late game or were just had the speed of a dying snail, making the fight quite anticlimactic
KaedeLanyo Nah DkS2 is the meanest of them, especially SOTFS which increases the ganks even more. In fact DkS3 is bound to get both veterans and new players alike because most enemies have roll catch attacks/combos.
I find the difficulty spike in High Wall of Lothric, in general, fucking insane with all of those Knights and Pus of Man dudes, but for some reason it ramps down in Undead Settlement. Even the Evangelists there aren't as bad as long as you avoid their hug attack.
I guess the Wall must have been some sort of test to see if you're really willing to deal with whatever the game throws at you. If you beat Vordt, you're here to stay, I guess. This whole level feels like it was designed to scare away people who aren't willing to try as hard as the game demands you do.
I mean, fuck, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the first chest in the whole game is a goddamn Mimic. That alone is a huge indication of what From intended with the Wall...
Really? In like 30 playthroughs I’ve never died or even come close to it with Vordt. Like, he’s one of the easiest bosses in the series I thought, up there with Pinwheel. Nameless King, Midir, Friede? Sure, I’ve died tons to them, but Vordt? Like how?
@@DChainZ_YT For someone starting on DS3 he was relatively tough, although the Lothric Knights and Iudex taught me all I needed to beat him. All in all a great boss though.

I never used any of those items that let you leave with all your Souls/Echoes, either. It just seems cheap. Not to mention they’re finite, too.
Anthem Demon's Souls let you do that with one boss. But I doubt they played it.

Gold Pine Resin your Raw weapon
R1 Spam his crotch.
As he powers up, Dodge his charge attack three times, then close in on that crotch pad as he's doing the breath attack.
R1 spam until you win.
Or you can use the Deep Battle Axe to attack.
Deep Battle Axe is hilarious, eats him alive

I don't buff and I beaten him. I just R1 spam and run away dodging and attacking again sometimes I do heavy attack if necessary. PL i also grind to a good enough lvl to a point where my HP doesn't drop in one or two hits from a boss like him. But yeah Deep battle axe really destroys him. Though just how do these people in the video not know the first few moves/attacks the boss does when they died the first time..... It's quite disappointing when I watch UA-camr play this kind of game.
I understand if you want to keep doing the bosses in order, but you should do the Dancer of the Boreal Valley next! I'd love to see all the people who started her early on and regretted it! Love the videos, keep em coming!

I remember i had little trouble with good old vordt when the game first came out.
This boss and the Dancer are my fav DS3 bosses.

Midir's laser barrage is scary af. Gael and Friede have dope phase changes and the lorian's teleports can get scary if you get bad RNG and he spams them after every attack.

It’s weird to see how much trouble some people have with Vordt, my first playthrough on DS3. (First DS game as well) I didn’t have that much trouble, I died a few times ofc but not that much

Vordt is further along in the process of his transformation, yet at the same time he traveled with the Dancer to Lothric when they looked relatively more humanoid. This raises a question for me as to what causes their transformation to progress? My theory is that they are transitioning between worlds like when someone is summoned or invades hence the purple portal similar to Aldridge's teleportation, and their growth is based on kills like a covenant system. Vordt is monsterous compared to the other four because everyone at some point has to get passed him and unlike the other four, you can't just walk passed him or set him to the side on your journey because the path he's guarding is the only way out of lothric's high wall, and the doors out only open when he's defeated. Because you get his boss soul when he's defeated, this means he ambushes you in his true form so he doesn't get to resurect
From what I've seen he seems like a easy boss at the start because all you have to do is get below him or get behind him but towards the second half he becomes a little harder to deal with

Have to admit watching them play makes me internally yell commands but also makes these bosses seem so much harder than they are lol
I realise Vordt is all bark and no bite (pun intended).
He is one of the first bosses you meet, so for a new player it is something special. He has a cutscene and traps you in the arena. He introduces frostbite wich is completely new compared to the enemies so far. He moves slowly before attacking so you can "try to escape" or something. Also the change of pace in the second phase makes it seem crazy and intimidating.
But he is still the first boss, so he is quite slow, and has a giant blind spot under him, once you overcome the fear, he is quickly beaten.

Also in my opinion Nameless King (maybe) and Soul of Cinder had some unpredictable attacks and moves.
Like literally after my first death to this boss. I learnt very fast since I kinda got cocky to do extra combo follow ups and kinda forgot to heal.
For those of you who don't know, this is the second boss.
The best thing I like about vordt is his second phase. When that music kicked in, i was like why tf are you not dead yet bruh and then recognized that this is the music from the meme and I was like so that's where it's from...yeah I'm gonna die 😂

This is one of the only bosses in the whole series I actually beat first try, I recognized he was a big boi and got beneath him, I almost died on the phase 2 transition but managed to survived then got below him again

I remember Vordt being a struggle the first time I fought him... These days I go for Dancer before Vordt to get access to the Castle, something I didn't even know it was possible back then. Oh how the meta has changed...
Beating dancer on new game before vordt? Man u would have to fight her for 10 minutes and if she touches u once u die…and trust me it happens
@@jurivjerdha2467 Oh I know haha. I struggled so much with her on first playthroughs that I had to learn how to do the fight hitless pretty much. Also the Dark Axe from the mimic speeds things up.
@@Ennello yeah I read somewhere that they give you the dark axe only for that reason but dancers hitboxes are abit weird thats why i get hit at least 1/2 times for every fight on her..still well played bro
Now that I tend to take Vordt for granted, it's nice to see people who are where I was when I started. Dark Souls 3 definitely changed things.

I remember the first time I played DS3 back in 2016 I couldn’t get past Vordt for the life of me so I just dropped the game. Fast forward to now and I’ve just beaten the main game and am currently facing Nameless. Adapt and overcome friends 😂😂

My most recent playthrough I did a dex build, so what I did was start the game, and instead of going to Vordt, I kill Cancer of the Boogie Valley, Ocelotte the Alivn’t Babbie, and then parried Gundyr to death. I then went and got the Chaos blade and hacked Vordt to pieces.
So much damage.
This boss has one of the Best soundtracks in the game

I don't remember this being so hard. But then again, I did summon the master and at some point the boss got stuck in a corner while I was under him. Due to these reason I managed to not die even a single time.

I beat Vordt my first try because my friend told me to apply lightning to my weapon since he is weak to it and he told me to just stay right under him. Fun boss.

Bruh, I remember doing this, but I had forgotten all about blocking. The amount of times I died to this dog, because my dodging wasn't up to par...It hurts seeing them block that mad rush of stage 2, and completely negating that damage.
