    As an expansion on this and the pick value based on the concensus board video here are some numbers using the Jimmy Johnson value chart:
    Seahawks' actual draft capital: 1379
    Players drafted board value: 1591.5
    Capital utilization Percent: 115.4%
    49ers actual draft capital: 1166.55
    Players drafted board value: 801.4
    Capital utilization Percent: 68.7%

      The Seahawks could've gotten Leonard Williams anyway by signing him as a free agent after the season without giving up draft picks, so including free agents like him doesn't make sense at all.
      Only if he was under contract for an additional year when we traded for him. The Seahawks got 8 games of Leo in exchange for a 2nd and a 5th. They then signed him to an expensive contract as a free agent, which again they could've done anyway without trading for him mid season. It's not like he gave them a 'hometown' discount or anything.

      @@AbbeyRoadkill1I think you can give a value and positional need grade, but some of these grades don’t make any sense based on those measures. They’re over factoring the importance of day three picks and the one guy thinking we needed to draft a QB is out of his mind. Why would we draft a QB that won’t make it on our roster? If they’re worth a pick, they won’t make it past the waiver to make it on our practice squad.

    They drafted arguably the best d-lineman and the best RG. I’ve always said that in the draft, your first two picks better turn into starters by year 2 and all the other rounds just hope you hit on players. Haynes and Murphy could be starting right away. Add in Leo Williams as our 2nd pick and you have three starters. You traded for Howell who is a solid backup qb, which we all know is vital. This is an A- to me.

  • @c.r4040
    @c.r4040 Місяць тому +3

    Im totally in with this we are below. We made a trade and missed out on 3th ans 2nd round Talent in the 4th. Then we used both 4th rounder to reached by 1 to 2 rounds of value. We decided to trade instead to go with Gray or Johnson. Then we traded decided to pick a very developmental LB which we probably could get wayyyy later. After that passed on Stover one of the TE with high floor and high ceiling who is a good blocker as well as a solid Route runner and choose a pure blocking TE. Did a valuable CB pick and then picked another RG (as I see it) even it was good value we must think either him haynes or Bradford ar a solid option at LG. Then we got another CB with good value which is okay. Then used our last pick for a lottery ticket which isn't dramatic but with brade, Jacobs, Williams, mahagony etc on the board questionable.
    So my grade is somewhere between C and B aswell. Now how it works out is to be determined but as for now we still have a Big question mark in the oline. And aslong as we aren't able to find a solid LG out of the three and maybe find a Space for our last pick a B- is generous.
    But I have to say we did a better Job with UDFAs. Ceaser, Westbrook and Greenfield are very solid.

  • @ilikeme1234

    Our first two picks were perfect as I see it and those are the ones that matter. Any questionable pick was on day three and two of them (Knight and Barner) have mitigating factors. Macdonald knows LB’s and I trust his discretion on a LB pick and we still don’t know how to properly grade TE. I’d give a B minimum A- maximum. Some reaches on day three and no second round pick hold it back.

    So long as either of those guards works out, and either of those two corners works out, and we get a pro bowl-like performance out of Murphy, I'd call the draft a huge win. We were thin after that #16 pick, I like the Uconn guard we drafted. Everything after that is just speculative and camp competition. Knight was the one headscratcher where you might grade them a B instead of B+, but the important thing is they got a guy they like who can play the style MM uses his linebackers in coverage.

Gary Hicks even the TE there were amazing and we had a chance to get both Gray and Hicks if we didn’t trade back for project players. Yes Gray and Hicks are not first rounders but I am 100% sure they are starters in the NFL and the guys we drafted instead are questionable on that at best other then the blocking TE

  • @briane173
    @briane173 Місяць тому +2

    Objective grading is dubious under the circumstances given it doesn't seem to take into account some rather important issues the Seahawks had to deal with going into this draft, which are hard to quantify but are nonetheless a weighty influence on GM + HC's decision-making -- things like contract structure of our current QBs and the collective quality of both; the dearth of early-round picks Seattle actually had to work with; cap space restrictions that limited their range of motion on the board; structure of contracts for certain players which will impact the _2025_ season, which injects a bias toward future trades/picks beyond this season; a glaring bias on the part of the lower graders toward the value of drafting a QB or a bevy of offensive players where we already had plenty of depth and talent (O line was the only glaring need on offense). AND there might've been a bias regarding the _ease_ of making certain selections just because they fell in our lap at opportune times because of decisions _other_ teams were making in the first two rounds (Byron Murphy being the most glaring example).
    I personally gave the Seahawks a B because they got some really good picks in Rounds 1 and 3 that addressed both value AND need, while later picks were mostly value-based.

Until we get a good qb but we also have holes to fill in the defense no stars on the line but i think murphy could be that guy he was getting off of a lot of double teams in college with sound technique according to the guys who played in the trenches. The linebacker situation leaves a lot to be desired the safety position is a giant question mark i hope cody bryant can put on some muscle and go play safety with love geno has to stop fucking up easy throws and with that being said i dont want seattle to copy the pass first offense i dont trust geno to do that i want this team to go run first setup the playaction for dk to hit a 40 yard bomb. I want k9 and charbonet to get 5-6 touches every drive i want people to talk about k9 the way people talk about McCaffrey k9 did not get enough touches and we definitely have to offense to allow him to succeed we got a blocking TE to replace dissly we got dk it's time to throw some people out of the club and demoralize the nfl

    The seahawks get a B. They should get at least 3 starters from this draft.
