What an impressive presentation to illustrate the point. And probably nobody in that neighborhood would notice anything was different unless they saw this video (except for all the households that randomly found decades-old Valentine's Day cards in their mailboxes).
I love that you made art IRL, printed things physically, and slapped stickers with a satisfying sound to illustrate your points and teach the history! So much better than using a digital montage!

A long time ago, my brother's dad died, and I decided that every time I saw a heart in the wild, it was him communicating with me. So I feel like I notice them a lot. You definitely notice things more when you add meaning to them.
when I'm anxious I look for heart shaped like an eyespy and if I'm incapable of looking for them I draw them in succession
I like that hearts are everywhere and I don't think that lessens their meaning at all, I think it helps put into perspective on how many people with different lives are just.. living, feeling a wide variety and range of loving emotions and I think that's really beautiful and calming
The satisfaction of slapping stickers in a public space. Taking such a thought provoking concept into a public space and disrupting the daily narrative is so empowering and exhilarating. Whether planned or not, that 4th wall break with the rando on the street was so exciting to see too! It's really really awesome to see your art evolve in practice and scope. You did it again. I clicked thinking it was an interesting title, saw the question and thought "oh, neat". But when you said we could look a little closer to the good, I started crying. Always something touching and relevant to people's lives stemming from something seemingly unimportant.
I have been going through a rough patch and just now, I think it might get better. And exactly when I thought that, your video popped up.

When you told me I would see on average of 200+ hearts in a day, I was thinking how absurd that was and that I probably see on average 10+ tops, on a good day...however, it didn't even occur to me until you mentioned later on in the video that we 'heart' posts on social media such as instagram and tiktok. That's when it really hit home just how much I see the heart symbol in a single day!

Hi Cam, tbh I resisted a bit your channel changing, since you are the only youtuber I watch and I really liked your old videos on mental health/self development. I am a danish psychologist and I have recommended specific videos for my clients and friends to watch and learn from. But I get it now and really enjoy how you explore a story or concept and tie it to an underlying message. I notice this is something you enjoy in some of your favorite books too, and get why it is interesting to create that yourself

It did not occur to me even a little bit to count things like emoji, instagram likes etc. I did however have a lovely time keeping my eyes open for hearts - there was a lot of "oh look! There's another!" and it turned into kind of a game.
i love how you filmed this its entertaining and visual and creativity flows from it. the line "the most recognized symbol in the world is one of love, not hate" hit hard.

Loved your self-improvement videos and was a lil sad when you said you'd finished making them BUT damn these mini documentaries are just so interesting, cinematic, educational and meaningful. Another spectacular documentary, I knew about the heart coming from the pear like love in tennis comes from an egg, but not the rest and you tell us history of all things; fonts; country music; various art styles, and now the heart, with so much human context it brings it to life not just with memorable storytelling but a real connection to who we are now and how we can be a living part of that on going history. I love that I can go in dozens of directions from here analysing my own use and consumption of heart symbols and never stop finding new angles of such an ubiquitous image. I'm going to right now send a heart to my husband while he's at work, and show a heart shaped flashcard to my newborn, spread the love.

If I see hearts everyday, it doesn't even register.
What I do notice everyday? Whether the sun is shining, how it reflects off of water or metal, and birds. I think that's the good in my life.

The heart has been my favorite shape for over 40 years now! Way before it became popular. The heart is such an awesome shape. It is both curved and straight. Rounded and pointy. It is so aesthetically pleasing. Well at least to me! Even my UA-cam profile image shows my favorite shape.

Now, answer to your question: i'm an aspiring graphic designer and story teller, and I'm surprised how helpful milanote can be for us creatives. I just got milanote to create moodboards and color stories for brand design, graphics, and i even use their "storyboard" template for my comics and animatics. very cool video struthless!!!

It's funny because I always thought of hearts in public that I registered as a reminder of love to help me re-prioritize what is important in life, but I do tend to need more reminders in general. Then again, Ive loved Disney content despite its capitalistic methods.

Wow, this is stunning! When I saw the title of the video I was like: 'hm, what a strange question? I've never thought about it..I need to find out'. And I really couldn't excpect anything like this. The way you think and talk about Actually it is very relatiable to the word 'love' itself. Love has always been something the most meaningful and important in people's lives, but as time passes by..we just get used to say 'I love' and sometimes, just like with these symbols, it doesn't really mean anything. so instead of 'love' we can ofthes see something like 'true love' and it's everywhere - in books we read, in movies and TV-series we watch. And it's pretty interesting, like..doesn't 'love' means 'true love' by default? This idea kind of resonates with the idea of heart's shapes.
