I’ve only recently discovered your content. You seem to be really knowledgable on the subject of mines and I was wondering how you became so? I’m from Porthmadog and spent a lot of time exploring old quarries and mines when I was younger. They’re as much a part of our mythology as they are our history and have a really haunted feeling to them. Must get out and back in the mines
Thanks, I've always been into caves but when I found the mines that was it, the human footprint and all the old workings... there is just nothing else like it 😊
Very interesting. Do you know the Mines near Bwlchgwyn in Wrexham? I have visited the waterfalls before but last week, a friend took me to a waterfall within a cave.. it was really stunning.
Hi Milda, My Dad who is now in his 80’s would like to know if you know anything about the Millwaters Lead Mine between Abergele and Old Colwyn that he visited as a teenager when at school in the area. He has a location marked on a map and a sketch of the workings layout that he made at the time. He would like to get in touch with you about this if at all possible? Many thanks, Lucy
Hey Lucy, very interesting- I haven't explored that particular area and not seen any records of a mine with that name - there are mines in the Welsh equivalent (Melin Dwr) in Mid Wales, but not in this area in the North. I've not done Wrexham, no. Sounds cool
@@MildaGoesWild its quite a forceful waterfall and a real treat to see it. There are Roman lead mines there apparently.
