My guess is a Collared Dove. Big shout-out to your aunty Mildred, love your video's and the way you explain it all, it has helped me enormously and kept the wife happy and rolling. Enjoy the brew 💪
I've watched all your videos since buying my wife an 07 Fabia MK1. It's a wood pigeon!
I used to open my window 7/24 since the spring comes and I had full window curtains which i never open. Once one of these birbs built a nest inside of my room. We had a connection. It was really nice to get in touch with them :)
Hello Harvey. that is a car to maintain. Low mileage and war engine. In my opinion that bird is a wood pigeon. We have those here too. They appear for the hens and ducks feeders. Normally i spent in flock food the double i need because of that guys, blackbirds, sparrows, magpies, jay birds and others. Here you can see owls and lot of kites too, but they are not interested in the flock feeders 🙂
I think I'm beginning to looking after her more now :-)
Re bird no idea………. So I’ll say pigeon😏 another solid video! What a great idea fettling the weaker areas! Look forward to more Fabia vids 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ah, the classic wood pigeon
Great video. Just watched it with wood pigeons cooing away on the chimney stack. Looking at the guesses I think they must be a new type of owl found? Made me laugh anyhow. Cheers
The bird is Eurasian collared dove, it's called Sierpówka in Polish. Currently when writing this comment one of these is eating grain in my garden because we feed birds. Also just wanted to say thanks for all your videos about Fabia, they already helped me a lot when working on my Fabia. 🙂
Thanks, glad my videos have been helpful :-)
Hi Harvey thanks for the video I will be doing mine in the summer. I think the bird is a wood pigeon 👍
Cant beat a PD Fabia
Great Vid as always Harvey. This is the next job for my 05' Vrs. Sounds like a Wood Pigeon to me.
Collared dove.
Another great project 👍🏻
Thanks :-)
Thanks Harvey. Just hard work needed and no corners cut. Fabias are solid and simple cars and if the rust is kept at bay then you have your car ready for several more winters. One product I do like is Owatrol Oil. It really stops rust and its useful for places you cant reach like nooks and crannies. Sets afrer a few days so can be over painted.
Thanks for sharing that, I will look out for that :-)
I recon it's a wood pigeon, good idea with treating the underbody areas, worth the time and effort.
Thanks, hard work laying your back ;-)
Yes I think it's a wood pigeon not a collared dove.
The Eurasian collared dove. I will be selling my Fabia, because it is already heavily rusted.
I'd say it's a common wood pigeon making the noise 🐦 2:10
The bird is called a turtle dove.
Thank you sir for all the hard work. You 're motivating us!
Thanks, you're very welcome :-)
To me, it sounds like an owl but I know very little about birds:) Nice work with the restoration and I hope you will enjoy your Fabia much longer. Fortunately, I don't have so much to underbody repair needed on my 17-year-old one, but the weather in this part of the world is different so that may explain it.;)
Thanks, glad your Fabia is in good under body condition. What kind of owl?
@@HatBoyHarvey Thank you, I am trying to take good care of it, too, not simply just leave it to the weather. To be honest, I know only one kind, the eagle owl that lives in here in my country, too, in Eastern Europe.:)
If gou are planning to sell it I would also paint the wheels, i used motip antigravel with an acrylic back and (well saddly) cheap laquer but the shinning really sets it off.
I definitely need to do this to my fabia! I know nothing about birds but ik going to say its an owl! 🤣
It just takes time and a bit of laying down on you back. That's why you need something nice to lay on :-)
What kind of Owl?
@@HatBoyHarvey barn owl?
I'm a new watcher of this channel. I also live in Yorkshire. Love the videos. ... I would have to take a guess and say a wood pigeon. 😊 Plus I'm definitely with you with the Yorkshire tea... Best cuppa. I also many moons ago had a Skoda Fabia 1.9 diesel 2004. Loved that car.
Good job 👍
Wood pigeon! Keep these vids coming hat man
Thanks, competition close, bird was a collared dove. Check out my Recently published video as I continued with this restoration :-)
That certainly looks a lot better after your work. I will definitely try Red Oxide on my back axle. My guess is the bird is a Collared dove and if you ever find Aunty Gertie's secret stash of Himalayan Goat biscuits let us know if they taste nice dunked in Yorkshire tea.
Thanks for that great comment, made me smile, good luck on the back axle, love you bro :-)
Mr. Perfect at it again, perfect job as always looking forward to do this on my fabia in the summer. Is it worth it to spray the rubber suspension components with silicone oil spray to protect them?
Yes, safe to use on bushings and mounting. I would do that and will :-)
Nice video! Always nice to see your work!
This lovely Fabia sure deserved it.💪
I myself own a Fabia 2012 and the rear frame assembly looks almost identical.
I was wondering then where do you jack the car from the rear using a hydraulic trolley jack? were you using the pinch weld seals?
The back frame looks curved in shape and jacking it from the center would potentially cause it to slip off.
Thanks, it's hard work on you back. I used the seam edge, but you can use a trolley jack with a rubber slotted bush.
Don't jack it on the beam, they bend, use the spring hanger, then support with axle stands at the edge of the beam!
Exactly what i want to do to mine. Hopefully it goes well :)
Best hot luck :-)
Great video, really detailed i'm really surprised how patient you are with these.
How long did you wait for the coats to dry? Or just eye it "if it looks dry when I check, it's done?"
Really insprired me to do this on my 1.9tdi 2008 mk2. I have a lot of rust, it's been outside in Norwegian weather for years.
Do you have any rust on the body work? It seems spotless, but would love to see how you deal with that!
Have a good one, Hatboy
P.S the bird was clearly a bird that should shut it and go away, they always wake me up in the mornin! (at least they catch rats)
Most coats were left overnight or many hours from morning to late afternoon accept when I did the extra bits behind the wheel arch which I only left til visibly dry about 2hours, but they weren't that bad for rust anyways. It is best to leave a good amount of time between coats though :-)
Can you buy something like golf r or audi s3 so you gain more viewers and that lets you buy stuff like sand blasters so we could watch your videos more often? :D as always your videos comes when you need them most. Bought hand brake cables but havent had time to fit them and a week later you post a video on them. Big thank you for what you do!
Thanks, I will be doing more videos in the future when I create more time to do them with my work, something I am working on. Yes maybe I could choose a more popular car to be a bigger channel, but fate has found me here! Glad I posted a video on the handbrake cable in good time to hopefully help you :-)
Hopefully you can find the clips and rubber caps from other Skoda or WV cars, the holes in between can be sprayed with hollow wax all around the inside, I would also do the metal underneath the plastic from the tyre area as it does get worn out over time. There might be some hollow space in between the pannels of the luggage as well that might buuld up moisture but i m talking from experience with my renault as my Skoda is still not in the garage yet.
Thanks for sharing good sound advice. I may have a go with wax oil inside the panel voids :-)

Hello sir, I have a skoda Fabia Mk1 2007 COMBI model. I live in Lebanon and I have lot of difficulty to find spare parts in second hand stores. Can you indicate me a good online store that delivers to Lebanon?
Difficult one that, most cover main European countries and there maybe restrictions toLebanon. Perhaps in the capital you could find someone that can import car parts maybe through Turkey or Cyprus. I have used www.skoda-parts.com
@@HatBoyHarvey Thank you I will try it
Sounds like an owl, mate :)
What kind of Owl?
@@HatBoyHarvey I'm guessing a great horned owl, but after looking at some other comments on here I'm leaning more towards the Eurasian collared dove now :)
which one is it? only one answer please
@@HatBoyHarvey I'm going with the Dove :)
doesnt look like you have too many miles on the car harvey.
Hello hatboy Harvey, just wondering if you can help me out, I've got a 1.9 tdi fabia 06, I have a problem with my braking, when I brake only 3 of the brakes work, the passenger front doesn't work at all, been told its the abs pump, but I don't think it is, wondering if you know at all, no fluid is coming out when trying to bleed it, any ideas would be great
Take the connection to the caliper off and then try to see if you get fluid out. If you do then it is the caliper, if not a and the flexible isn't blocked (take pipe off before &test then it maybe the abs pump, so first call would be to get Vagcom OBD2 hooked up to do 'basic setting' bleed through. If this doesn't work the pump may need replacing.
@@HatBoyHarvey it's not the caliper, and I've put a new flexy on it, I've got no lights on the dash come up about it, I'm at a loss really
I've looked up on a skoda forum, and a few people talk about the same thing, and say that it can be the 40strip fuse on top of the battery can affect the abs, so christ knows really
Yes, the fuse for the ABS is on top of the battery, sorry first thing to check along with one in the main box.
@@HatBoyHarvey what one on the main box please 🙏
