The jokes made about NYC's apartment prices are no jokes. My goodness, your one room cost more than my house each month.

Its the same in London my apartment alone is 1,300 per month. But, I do have the whole place for myself. Spacey kitchen and living room, two balconies and a big bedroom. The bathroom is the perfect size for me.

I love that you are giving yourself a chance to experience this life for one month! I think it can def give you a better idea of what you want in life. I stayed in NYC last summer and found a random girl to share a room with for $860 each (which is how much I pay for my private room in Boston... which I already thought was hella expensive...). The roomie was awesome thankfully! But we didn't even have this view!

The view at night literally looks like a photo i took by the Brooklyn bridge when i went to my 3 day trip!! Have fun Whitney!!! i took the whole 3 days walking from place to place to visit many places as possible but you have 1 month!!! Enjoy the trains too!!!❤

I lived on the upper west side of manhattan for 4 years while I went to school. The apartment my sister and I had an opportunity to live in was 4K a month for a 2 bed 2 bath apt. It was on the riverside park and three blocks from Central Park. It was half price for us because of my sisters company, but still. So expensive!!! You have a wayyyy better view though from ur place! I’ll always be thankful for my opportunity to live in that wonderful city. It grows on you over time. =)
I live in New York, born and raised. It's always been a struggle for my parents since we are barely middle class but not poor. New York has a lot to improve on when it comes to their treatment to those who are not rich.

i live in NYC and that was crazy expensive. But that is how Manhattan is. That is why a lot of people are moving from Manhattan into Brooklyn, Queens and Harlem. Which is drawing the prices up there also.

If you happen to be there during the fourth of July and if they do the fireworks on the East River this year, you'll get a great view of the fireworks from your apartment and/or roof. But you got a bargain, but it may also be due to the building you are in which is one of the cheaper high rises in terms of rent but is a lot more spacious than most apartments. If I'm correct, I think I used to live in that building. But currently, 1 bedroom high rises in Manhattan goes for $4000 to $5500 a month and two bedrooms can range from $6500 to $10,000 a month for most apartments.

미국에서는 삶 자체가 다 돈인것 같아요. 물론 한국도 이래저래 돈 많이 깨지지만요. 미국의 소득이 한국의 2배인 걸로 아는데 소득이 높으니 그만큼 더 비싼것 같아요.
