I agree also the placement of new colour light signals half way down the platform which means restricting the length of trains to 2 coaches for the foreseeable future is madness. The hole point of trains is they can be very long but it seems the more we use them the shorter the trains get. 10 or 12 coaches back in steam days now 2 coaches is the norm.
@@BrockwellLanemodelrailway I see your point but in steam days it was also very common for, on branchlines, small local two carriage services to be ran.
@@GWR-fd1up this is no branch though, It is daft . The distance between crown point and yarmouth is not much either if they left an engine there for recovery. This is where the railways are going wrong, have to run a train every 20 mins as they dont send out a proper train rather a 2 car unit. I live in telford and you get a train every 20 mins each way to wolves and shrews , never used to and they used to quite often throw in an 8 car mix up when busy as well as an 11 carraige euston. If anything failed nothing was due for another 45 mins so could get it moved now 1 2 car unit fails and has a knock on effect all day as the next 2 or 3 trains get cancelled or run very late. Are these planners stupid?
Note how the 37/7 sounds different to the 37/4 .

I don't understand how it is economic to run two locos with two coaches
I don't understand this, how can it be economical to run TWO locos with two coaches. Steamers where supposed to be too uneconomic to continue
