@@SpeechModification mam plz make a vedio about irish accent plz i want to learn that accent. How conor mecgregor speaks that's cool. i love that accent but sometimes i can't understand what he speaks in press conference 😕. I love that accent too. Even i don't know english well. But i m trying to learn online plz upload some vedios how to speaks vocab in irish accent. If i do any mistakes in this reply so sorry for any grammatical mistakes 😅. Thanks a lot mam.
It's not really my area of expertise - one thing I suggest is to turn on the subtitles in English to read along as you listen, that can help you hear how the Irish accent is pronounced as well as helping you understand if you miss some words.
is there any video how pronounce the word predominately
Hi, I can cover your word in a future video.
Hi, I'll be covering your word on Wednesday: ua-cam.com/video/CssFt6lQ7ug/v-deo.html

nurturing, please!!!!🤗
Good suggestion, I can cover it in a future video for you.
Can't say thank you enough.
Thanks for watching!
why do people say "paticular" without the r???
I think simply because it's difficult to say, and because the syllable "par" is unstressed, so it goes quickly and isn't as important.
Hi 🖐 one a question. In the video, the pronounce is the US or UK ? I like your videos You don't give up
Hi, thanks for your support. This is the US pronunciation.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg thank you so much !!
Thanks for watching!
Cannot curl my tongue.
My wife could curl hers very well. Rest her soul.
Hi! I'm having trouble to pronounce the yə sound, is there a video about that? When you say it fast, I hear an e sound, not you sound. Can you help me, please? Thanks!
Hi, maybe this video about "year" vs. "ear" will help you - let me know if it doesn't, and I can suggest something else. ua-cam.com/video/XDZPb8VwXrY/v-deo.html
@@SpeechModification Thanks but the thing is: when you say it fast, I don't hear the SCHWA sound. It's more like /pərˈtɪkilər/. Is it possible because we don't need to make the SCHWA before L, M, N, and R? Is it bad to say /pərˈtɪkilər/?
👌
I lived in the U.S for 20 years and developed Indian accent. Please help!
Are you from India? If so, you can use this playlist to understand some of the elements of your accent: ua-cam.com/play/PLJXFLCasjYl6joyGefUSqnhOs-6svhi0b.html You might also like our course for Indian English speakers: courses.speechmodification.com/courses/IE
@@SpeechModification I am south east asian. Thank you.
30 cooler is how Google translated my pronunciation
That's good information - you might need more of a "kyou-ler" instead of just "oo" for the end of the word. Also make sure you hold "tick" longer and the rest shorter. But don't worry too much, voice dictation often isn't too accurate, even for native speakers!
can u make a video about these two words " bra " and " bro "
thank u
Sure, thanks for the suggestion!
Hi, I'll be covering your words on Saturday: ua-cam.com/video/0ByAUfb-hlQ/v-deo.html
Thank you for your help.
I have a question. I don't know which one is correct.(or general)
ua-cam.com/video/1wS7NjN_5Co/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/1wS7NjN_5Co/v-deo.html
The latter is more difficult for me to pronounce.
Could you let me know?
God bless you.
Hi, what do you hear as the difference between the two? I don't have a video for the word "immediately" yet, but I'd be happy to cover it for you in a future class.
Hi, I''ll be covering "immediately" on Thursday: ua-cam.com/video/WJ7xz-7GEWM/v-deo.html
I’m not sure why you refer to “how many Americans pronounce it” because due to the extremely low bar for teaching in US due to discrimination, political influences and budgets set aside--most are incorrect. Sure-there are some scholars, celebrities and talk show hosts or news announcers that get it right but by far the majority don’t. It should be embarrassing but in typical American fashion the wrong is changed to ‘right’ just because that’s the American way.
It can be hard to accept that things that were errors become correct when they are in the majority, but that's the way language works and has always worked. Pronunciation and meaning of words changes over time, through human use. I resist some of these changes too - for example, I cringe at the thought that "literally" now also means "figuratively," so I can choose not to use it that way, but ultimately the beauty of language is that it is a tool for human use and connection.
My point in bringing up alternative pronunciations that are widely accepted as correct is that they usually are easier to pronounce, particularly for non-native speakers who don't have the same sound inventory as native speakers. They are also trying to make sense of what they hear around them, if it doesn't match what they see in the spelling or in the dictionary. Sometimes fluency and being understood is the priority. Again, it's about communicating and being understood by the people with whom you are speaking.
@@SpeechModification Ha ha. I see the method in your madness more clearly now as speed and ease must come before perfection of course. I guess for me having a grandmother who was a school teacher and also having many of my English teachers being sticklers as well, I rarely got away with mistakes. My biggest shortcoming on the topic is my limited vocabulary which I attribute to my lack of book reading coupled with increased tv/internet and education level of those I choose to befriend most. Thank you for your reply🤓
@@seriouslythough2941 yes, the lure of screens is powerful, even for those of us who love to read. I read on my Kindle, which has the option of clicking on words to see the definitions. It's surprisingly enjoyable, because even though I may get the meaning of the word from the context, when I see the detailed definition, it often enhances my enjoyment of what I'm reading.
