    I’m surprised to see Mark Ruffallo in a movie dancing ,because I remember him distinctly saying he wasn’t a good dancer and didn’t want to do the Thriller dace scene with Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30,he looks pretty damn good in this movie .

      I suppose his like or dislike of dancing could also be directly proportional to the payment? Just saying cos you pay me a few million and I'll learn to backflip through a burning hoop!

    Much more deserved Oscar than the one for La La Land, which is still a great movie. Hope she gets it.

    WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY???????

  • @jdj830
    @jdj830 3 місяці тому +4

    I enjoyed the film but it’s not as groundbreaking as many of the critics are saying: it’s reminiscent of those sci-fi/horror/softcore cult films of the 70s like Inserts, The Hunger, Phantom of the Paradise, and even a little bit of Rocky Horror. It’s also a little bit creepy like those films in terms of what “liberation” is supposed to look like; Emma Stone may be into it but a lot of women would call it something closer to exploitation. And while Stone’s performance is riveting and has been justly praised it actually might be more challenging to play a character that isn’t some writer’s clever conceit or agent of a high-concept plot device but something akin to real human being. It’s an impressive film that’s worth seeing but if you want to see a movie about an artificially manufactured object come to life as a real self-actualized woman I think Barbie is a better choice, and one you can actually take your kids to; they should definitely stay home for Poor Things even though it’s basically a kid’s movie with graphic sex and gore grafted onto it like the hybrid creatures in the movie.

    • @nikitamohan3390
      @nikitamohan3390 3 місяці тому +2

      It's based on a novel and her character is like a Female Frankenstein that was the influence or reference point. The director and writer of the film didn't invent this character randomly out of their imagination like some people seem to be implying.

    • @jdj830
      @jdj830 3 місяці тому

      @@nikitamohan3390 The original novel is set in Scotland and is full of references to Scotland and Scottish culture, which is a key aspect of the way it told this story. The movie dispenses with all the Scottish references and adds the steampunk design element which has nothing to do with the book, thus making it more like those stylized 70s cult films I mentioned. And in any case the number of Frankenstein-inspired movies and novels is extremely long and varied in their approaches (you could also put My Fair Lady/Pygmalion on the list.)

    • @nikitamohan3390
      @nikitamohan3390 3 місяці тому +1

      @@jdj830 So aren't filmmakers allowed to take some creative liberties while adapting a novel? You are seriously whining just because they changed "a design element" but kept the whole essence of the story and novel???Literally nearly everyone does that. Pretty sure even Nolan and Scorcese did with the dense novels thy adapted into films!

    HOW DID THIS MOVIE GET AN 'R' RATING INSTEAD OF AN NC17? THE MOTION PICTURE ACADEMY PRESIDENT DAVID RUBIN SHOULD ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RATING SYSTEM--AN 'X' RATING NEEDS TO RETURN. This movie is Emma Stone on porn and includes a sex scene with children--that must violate our laws and certainly our sense of decency and protection of the vulnerable in society--the fact that Hollywood is giving this film awards is very telling and disturbing.

    Hello Mrs Emma Stone from my Jerusalem Israel. How are you? I hope work for you is well as well as your start to 2024. I am happy to introduce myself to you. My name is Jonathan Trauner. I will be 30 in Jerusalem this May 15th 2024. I work as a software algorithms tester at Mobileye in Jerusalem Israel. I am a poet and performing artist who loves to sing. I was hit by a huge tall tour bus in the area of Mobileye in Jerusalem Israel on June 18th 2023. I broke my left collarbone in three places. I finished recovering last month in Jerusalem. My dream is to become the first poet and artist with Autism to win a Emmy Grammy Oscar Academy Award and Tony Award in 2025 in Los Angeles California and to create Jerusalem Israels second ever coed acapella singing group based in the German Colony The JerusaHymns.

    Emma's good but Carey Mulligan or Sandra Huller are much better in their movies . They won't win unfortunately. Although, I prefer Emma to Lily. Last year best actress was a shame . Cate Blanchett deserved it, instead Michelle don't remember her surname, won, AND her movie won! Such a disaster that movie. This year should win Oppenheimer/ Murphy/ Huller, but Oscars aré not reliable at all.
