im in 100% with marvel rivals, top500 lobbys were so fun, the game feels like OLD overwatch. its so much fking fun. I quit overwatch since the alpha came out and havent gone back and probs wont till we get a classic ow or these devs get fired

Took a few seasons to realize it. Ow2 felt better INITIALLY but then when ppl figured out you could just counterswap the tank and make them useless for the entire match, the jig was up

It’s actually way better than Overwatch when it was in the same place at its start. And that won game of the year. Marvel Rivals has massive potential. And the gameplay will only improve.
I don’t have a lot of time to play games now a days, but I loved tuning in to watch Sam play.

BP has cooldown cycling like doom but not his mobility
Black Panther is DF, Spidey is more like Genji
Magik or Black Panther, prob more Black Panther he is kinda like doom + genji (Doom ability cycle & shields on ability hit, Genji movement and way you deal damage)
Gods, I already miss this game!!! For an Alpha, it was pretty damn good. Can't wait to see how much has been polished for the beta and live release!
Was watching a YT video Flats where he read a thread he had with Eskay on Twitter and theyre just sucking each other off saying 5v5s not the issue with OW and Eskay said "instead of parroting what ur fav streamer said, takes 2 seconds and dig deeper" then refused to elaborate or explain how 5v5 WASNT the issue, while simultaneously admitting that tank heroes arent weak theyre just "not fun to play" - which is a format problem, like we've established.
So done with that shit game, too many brainwashed idiots that blindly defend it and continue to cope

I can’t wait for this game! I love marvel and comic heroes so it’s basically perfect and knowing all the future characters they can add and etc is crazy because there’s TONS of things they can do! The potential is crazy

I gotta admit I really thought a lot of streamers were full cap when they said how good Rivals is. But seeing Sam truly enjoy it.... I'm interested now. If anything Sam has always told it how it is with no filter.
To get alpha access you had to agree to not talk negatively about the game
@@nickkelly3199 I believe they revised the NDA after receiving criticism about the disparagement clause. I think their initial intentions were not to be slammed for anything truly broken in something that's an Alpha. I can completely understand the reasoning just not the execution because someone slamming it when it's obviously not ready for primetime could completely ruin it's chances of making a splash.
With that said, have you ever known Samito to keep his mouth shut or shill for a game developer? I haven't. I watched a lot of his live streaming of the game and he in no way shape or form said only great things about the game. He outright said when things need to be changed or were completely wack. Even then, if he didn't like the game he wouldn't be saying how much he looks forward to the official release. I'm not a Sam dick rider. I quite often disagree with some of his stances. But I do respect that he has refused to make excuses or shill for Blizzard when it obviously could have benefitted him in the way of access to things other streamers have.

What's especially Paladins-esque is combining really cool gameplay ideas with terribly janky technical execution.
Its very Overwatch meets Smite. I am psyched.
Overwatch always felt like a universe that could compete with Marvel, its ironic that there will be a Marvel game that will somewhat compete with Ovwrwatch.
I look forward to trying it out. I hope its cross platform.

I can see them having to change that “pure chaos” ult voice line. It gets very irritating after the 10th time
The game also reminds me more of Paladins than Overwatch, but the feel seems to be more like Smite without the moba mechanics.

Hawkeye is one of the leaked characters and his art looks pretty similar to young hanzo skin.
I agree it looks more like Paladins than OW, but I can't quite pick out why. Is it the 3rd person perspective making abilities feel mushy? Or just other missing tactile elements that would make things feel more impactful? I'm not a game designer. I have no idea.
It's the movement looks too "floaty". Granted almost everyone in the Marvel universe can fly except maybe Jubilee. But yeah, heroes movement doesn't feel like it has any weight if that makes sense. Like in OW for instance, compare how Rein feels when he moves to howTracer or Sombra A/D strafing in a 1v1 feel. Everything from how almost every frame of their animation seemingly has it's own sound effect even if you can barely hear it, to their fluid but exaggerated movements are animated in a way you can really only describe as "that blizzard polish". There is actually a really great video about exactly WHY Overwatch's hero animation is so special an why I think it subliminally makes other games have the paladins feel we were talking about ua-cam.com/video/CQ0YSQFDLLw/v-deo.html

At the end of the day, the game is 3rd person, so it'll never take the place of Overwatch- but it looks fantastic and as far as I'm concerned, completely invalidates me ever loading up Smite ever again. Fingers crossed this game continues to pop off

overwatch aint gonna survive this
The repeated "it's more paladins than overwatch" is so off. Those games are so similar to start and most of early overwatch's mechanics and systems are much closer. Glad sam has an open mind to enjoy himself and eat the 2 cakes though
What overwatch 2 needs in 5v5 is a hero ban system and a hero lock system so that you can't swap after picking a hero. But of course blizzard won't make hero locks a thing because not having it covers for their inept character design. By not having hero locks they're basically saying "just swap to something else so we don't have to balance the game as much".
the hero ban system was horrible when they did try it for like a season

Sam, the Overwatch competitor has ALWAYS BEEN HERE! Its called Paladins. Hero bans, no swapping, card system, a item shop system. It's CLEARLY the superior 5v5.
It has garbage map design and lack of polish. The playerbase is also smaller than Overwatch by a long shot and dying and the devs don't really care. Also it gets almost no new content now to the point where they're recycling old seasonal skins
I do think it's better, but I wouldn't say it's a perfect fit for OW fans. It absolutely does 5v5 better, but some people want 6v6, not 5v5 but good.
@@InkPrince true. Paladins used to be good when Hi-Rez gave a crap. Even their skins were great. I wish they put a better effort into the game because it really did show a lot of potential. But Hi Rez be Hi Rezzing.
Paladins has the same problem as TF2 where it's so old now that cheaters infest the game.
