You may've been able to also use some really really simple porcelain tiles. Though, porcelain tiles would've been a luxury till laminate was invented.

No bicycles until the 1830s (horses and walking only), no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no jobs unless you wanted the hassle of having your Sim horseride to work, etc. I never made it past the Edwardian Era, so this will be interesting to watch.

Correction: Electricity did actually exist around the 1880's - 1890's. It was very primitive, but very simple light bulbs had been invented and used at the time.

As a historian, the inaccuracies are killing me but I know it’s the best it’ll get. Also most women worked outside of the home during this time because most families could not afford to keep a wife at home. This was the time of monopolies and tons of factory work.

Cool! Mine is ancient too, but it doesn't have that. Mine was kind of a communal home so multiple families lived (and probably died) here over the years and they've updated things. Then my dad changed a lot of it before we moved in. It still has ancient windows and poor insulation, but it's an okay house.

Wow...this looks like such a hard challenge XD
    Good luck
The victorians was starting to have electricity and gas I think but there was not many safety rules and fires or explosions would happen
They also liked patterned walls in their homes but the colour green contained arsenic and some victorians became ill
Another factor was milk for infants, they sometimes bottle fed with milk and to prevent it from going off they put a special chemical in there, it actually hid the smell of spoilt milk but the bacteria was still in there and that caused illness in many infants, less so in adults because adults would need more of the chemical to become very ill but they could still become unwell just less likely but for infants it could lead to death

So Many Scholars In The Comments... I Am Impressed And Also Upset That You Did Not Create Your Own Challenge Instead Of Rudely Commenting Things... Pitty. She Is Living On The Borders Of Each Era So It Is As Close As Possible And Not Totally Inaccurate (I Know When The Transition Of Victoria To Edward Is BTW). Just Enjoy The Effort And Give Good Feedback. ALSO 😌 Feedback And Being Rude Are Not The Same So Instead Of Saying "YOU'RE TOTALLY WRONG WAH WAH WAH" ...."Hey I Noticed That You Took This Route, Historically Such And Such WAH WAH WAH" . Happy To Help, Respectfully ❤

In 1882 Edison helped form the Edison Electric Illuminating Company of New York, which brought electric light to parts of Manhattan. But progress was slow. Most Americans still lit their homes with gas light and candles for another fifty years. Only in 1925 did half of all homes in the U.S. have electric power.

1890 was not the start of the Victorian era. The Victorian era was 1837-1901, so if anything it was the end.
edit : I haven't finished and i can tell she isn't educated on this topic. They did in fact have ways of telling if a woman was pregnant, like peeing on hay. Also, painting was admirable in woman during that time. Also, the chances woman would be able to read is low, unless they had an educated husband whom was okay with it.

@@tomasmillen More seriously, ignorance is only excusable in cases where one has not had opportunity to learn. I grant that many people don't know a Victorian England from a Medieval Knave. Which is fine, if they were never presented with information on the subject. But when encountering misinformation, one should correct it so that others don't fall victim to it, don't you agree? It's one thing to not know, and another thing to be told wrongly, and still another (and worse) thing to take correction as an attack. I will grant that I could have worked harder to make my initial comment nicer, but ultimately, it was simply a correction of misinformation. And how would one know that one had received or given misinformation if not corrected?
