- This week’s film breakdown of the San Francisco 49ers explains how Kyle Shanahan creates a gameplan, and how he used a play from 2018, to pound the Panthers 51-13. He uses inside and outside zone runs, then when the defense starts selling out to stop those zone runs, he uses plays like trap to attack them. Using the coaches all-22 game film, this analysis takes a closer look as to how the gameplan was conceived and then executed.

It's the combo of that 3 game stretch, pack, ravens, saints, that's worrying. They're probably a coin flip to lose 2 of those games. They're a favorite vs the packers bc of the packers suspect run defense but, muh Aaron Rodgers. The Ravens are a straight coin flip as their strength is an advanced run game also. The saints are arguably the best NFC team with Brees, enough said.

This is a perfect example of why I was so excited when SF signed Shanahan as HC.. He's an offensive genius!! But I believe the biggest reason why things are going so great - aside from Shanahan's offensive genius - is the fact that he and Lynch are working TOGETHER.. A HC and GM have got to have a healthy relationship, and it has become quite clear that Shanny and Lynch are operating on the same page..
Everyone else is playing very, very physical checkers while the 49ers are playing very, very physical chess.

Nevermind the comments complaining about how many 49ers videos you're releasing. Shanahan's playcalling is the holy grail of NFL offensive playcalling schemes. I'd love more analysis of 49ers games because we really seldom see how much the little details affect such massive plays.

I want to make sure we give Kuechly credit. On that TD sweep to Deebo, I think he correctly keyed on the pulling guard #75 and very nearly made it to the gap on time. I know he didn't make the play, but it's a little much to say he was fooled by the play design as hard as you say he was
Watching Shanahan’s playcalling has probably been a top 5 favorite thing about NFL last few years. Dude is a wizard and always has wrinkles off wrinkles off wrinkles.
You're telling me! I love studying him. He was putting some spins on his base concepts against Arizona, for example he put a wrinkle on his spot dig concept on the PI call on Emmanuel Sanders in the redzone. Had him cross the face of the LB instead of sit down. Incredible
Hey, Shannahan had this play installed against the Steelers. It was never handed off as it was one of the 49ers many fumbles that week. Garappolo mishandled the snap in the redzone. Deebo was coming under for the wingback counter

My main concern is our linebackers. I read since week 4 were 31st in rushing yards per attempt allowed!!!
Now with the Kwon injury this could be our Achilles heel.

I’m sure it was because the niners didn’t have enough time to install a legit game plan because of the short week. It takes time to put together an entirely new playbook like this every week for an opponent

I think the bad play to set up the good play is more Kyle wants to see how the defense adjust from series to series. and depending on what defenses commit to he has no problem exposing that. then as they make adjustments again he can switch it up. I guess the set up part could be to get them to key certain things too. either way there is probably multiple reasons he calls certain plays

Kingsbury and Joseph did a pretty good job against us. We should do better in the second meeting. 49ers defense was tired from the Panthers game and made multiple mental errors against the Cardinals offense. Those will get corrected and the team will be better as a result.

@@AlexRollinsNFL Given some success, it's easy to overlook that 49ers are a very young team that's still learning and improving. Good teams learn from their mistakes, and we're doing that.
It has found many different ways to win and is still trying to put together complete games consistently. The upside is very high when all three phases (including passing game) get working consistently. So far it has not been consistent enough. We have excellent coaching and talent and will get there.

It's a key indicator of how much of a tempo setter and leader he is for that defense that he's targeted by OCs and HCs every game against them like that.
KS was also the architect of the SB LI fiasco
Basically to deal with this offense you must be discipline if not no matter how good your defense is you'll be ripped apart piece by piece.

I can see the 49'ers winning the super bowl this year. They are a complete team from top to bottom. I've said this before, as a Bronco fan, Elway messed up bad hiring Vance Joseph over Kyle. Stupid!!
Cover 2 type defense would be perfect against this stuff; don't think I don't see you in the background Lynch. The problem is when they actually run the ball up the middle LOL! We need Rhonde Barber to come out of retirement. Teams need to stop having LB's bite on these jet sweeps and rely on their tackling corners in zone. When your thinking defense you have to understand you intentionally giving up something. Make Jimmy G and those wide receivers beat you deep. Kittle really makes your offense so hard to attack; TE"s murder cover 2 so there is always a weakness. So does randy moss LOL.

I think we can out-play the Pats. I'm already super excited about this season it has exceeded my expectations I didn't think anybody would be talking about us in the super bowl halfway thru the season and here we are the last undefeated and people have us playing the Pats for a title. I'm gonna wait until we've seen the Ravens and Saints on the road before I go any further, but yes I think we have the tools to beat Evil Yoda if it comes to that.
