Sadly this has been patched hardcore. You can no longer break his shield with a single heavy attack of opposing color. Takes about 7 solid wall jumps in a row or a full 30 hit combo to be able to break the shield. He also takes an entire meter of heat when in opposing color before you can get a single punch in.

Good Video. This is how I defeated him (FYI I'm only doing it for the trophies): - Change difficulty to 'simple' (which is even easier than easy) - Make sure all 3 shortcuts have healing items in them (lunch sets mostly) - Start with the beatdown extracts (don't worry if phone gets stolen, get as many in as possible) - Just keep pounding him till shields are activated (make sure to match fighting style with appropriate color, red for tiger, blue for crane) - Once shields are activated, stay in same color till you are able to fully charge EX gauge, then switch to opposite color (opposite fighting style) and beat him as much as possible. Heal as necessary. Hope this helps :)
Took me like 3 hours to beat this fight because my controller's d-pad doesn't work so I couldn't swap styles for the last portion of the fight but once I realized it was required I beat him in like 4 tries.
I can't even get a SINGLE heavy attack off of Amon while he is shielded and I'm using the different style, the projectiles auto kill me. Can I only get the attack off while in EX mode?

I have this game since in 2019 and I didn’t fight him at all until I watched your video. Even though I do have Lost Judgment but I decided to defeat Shin Amon from Judgment first. And now I could have to try to defeat Amon from Lost Judgment. Once I finish I’ll start to play The Kaito Files (DLC). Thanks again, bro!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Took me 3 attempts, although I didn't figure out you could avoid losing your phone and break the shield.....figured out the style swap gimmick after the first round when I realised Amon is literally using the Tiger/Crane stances when he swaps. Ended up dragging the fight out for ages as I had to chip away at his health forever in the last round where even using EX-TdwC only does a miniscule chip of damage.
I tired to do wall jump but got electricuted in that phase. First up I get grabbed cannot dodge it won't let me. For 10.minitrs trying to burst the shield wouldn't let me.
having the quick select ability in this game is a godsend. not just for this fight, but generally. The one thing i found tiresome in the other games was having to go through menus every time i wanted to use an item, spoiled the flow of battles and boss fights. I know they probably did it to encourage the player to get really good at the combat so had no need to chug health recoveries , but not all of us have the time to spend hours building up the character.
Thank you for showing that you can break the shield because that's what made at Worlds him to push over the edge cuz I'm good with the fighting just that Shield was destroying me
Thanks! I beat Amon in two proper goes with this, I didn't know that Blazing Barrage was so powerful. I quit about 3 times because he stole my phone when I couldn't get away but the last time this all worked. I used EX Tiger Dances With Crane at the beginning and tried to do it a second time but it came out as a Drunken Fist instead. I thought I had won but Drunken Fist seemingly does no damage at all during the final phase even if the barrier is down. I had to waste a third Blazing Barrage to get rid of the last bit of health instead. I wish I hadn't bought 4 now because I'll never use it again as he's the only hard enemy in the game.

How do you burst those protective bubble while avoiding those laser barrage? It will leave you quite vulnerable since blue shield can only be popped with red/tiger style, those laser barrage will damage you very badly.
That’s because this guy is on his 30th try and is on hard, he also mentioned in another comment that this took him 2 hours to beat. Not to mention he probably also played this COUNTLESS times before. So yeah, he’s had a lot of practice which is why he’s making it LOOK easy. Trust me, this Amon is a bitch; WAY harder than any other one. He can take your phone and therefore not be able to heal. There are definitely one shot he do as well.

You are supposed to use whatever means you can to defeat Amon, he will do the same to you anyway, but his ways are more flashy.
