Jody, any chance of a salmon dial ascent in the future? Would be great to have a Sarb 037 alternative and Islander discontinued their salmon dials. Gap in the market pal!
My Black Helix Ascent on a J-Style bracelet wears like a dream. Jody has done a great job, I really think the Erebus brand is offering the best value proposition on the market by far.
that’s great then, it was my main concern. It feels very weird imo, but as long as it’s normal I’m okay with it. Noticed any other issues with it since this video?
I received my orange fume dial watch a few days ago and it has not left my wrist. It is spectacular in the sun! There are no alignment issues on mine. It wears perfectly - I barely notice I am wearing it. I also got the J style bracelet. I don't know how they can top this release, but it will be interesting to watch them try.
I got the purple fumé and black enamel, both bracelets and the black leather strap pack too. The purple lives on J style, the black on the O. I’ve used two of the black straps on other watches haha. Oh and I also have a purple Origin 41, red Origin 41 and pink Origin 38 :) super tempted by this white enamel as well!
Gritty feeling crown action is normal for Miyota movements. No idea why but every miyota movement watch I have ever had felt gritty at first and never feels smooth when winding them.
One question (okay, two!)--- Is the J-style bracelet a hair-puller? And secondly, can you feel the quick-release spring bars while wearing the watch fairly snug? Thanks for your review, enjoyed it.
Yeah, the crown on mine ain't great. It has improved but still not as smooth as it should be. Winding is a bit gritty. Other than that though, great watch.
You should have contacted them when your bezel wasn't working properly to see how their customer service is. I’m afraid that if you want a customer service you can rely on, you should stick to San Martin. NB: for the missalignement, Look at the hour hand when the minute hand is exactly at 12...
I looked at that with my purple fume just now, the hands are prefectly aligned. I also put it under the microscope and saw some microdust here and there, but not as much as another video I saw. I wonder how many people are actually required to assemble these, while also assembling other watches in the San Martin factory. Probably going to be hit and miss, which is a shame, but not unexpected for a watch costing less than several thousands, well, and then, I've heard of issues with >$10,000 grand seikos....
Thanks so much for buying the Ascent! And the Origin! And the Origin 38! Ha! And thanks for the review, much appreciated.

@@UA-camrCommenting I agree!
Really good look at this one. I just received my Ascent Blue Helix version today and I am beyond thrilled! Looks even better in hand. Cheers all!
Thanks for the great review !
THANK YOU! You raised one thing I noticed, and I wasn’t sure if it was normal or not, feeling the watch winding as you screw it in.
@@bryanbeckett869 yup absolutely normal.

@stephenschroeder6567 it's a really beautiful watch and I bet the orange is stunning!

Nice review. I heard you say at the end you don’t wear the pink 38 mm Origin that often. Would you be willing to part ways with it by any chance?
It's for my wife. She wears it. Lol
@@EverydayMan it would look better on me

No to both questions. And I've got hairy arms. Lol
I have the same experience, no hair pulling. Also, I saw quite a few people hear you can feel the quick release spring bars, I cannot at all.
Any chance you could hold a watch steady for more than 5 seconds?
@danh4351 ill try, thanks
Save yourself a fortune on an Aquaterra. Will do the exact same job. Nice piece. Good video

Just move some waxed dental floss around the crown threads, back and forth, it works!
what about after sale service ?
I haven't had a reason to contact them after the sale.
They have 2 yr warranty

@muniryassin6141 I almost did contact them, but it worked itself out pretty quick.

400 - is it Worth the Price….?! Much Money for a China watch.
