Benny, Thanks for the question. Yes, the smell is almost completely gone. I just put in a dryer sheet or two every time, and that Completely takes care of the problem. I called the company, and they said that there is a slight burn smell right when you first purchase it. They said it will go away in time. They were right!
You are welcome! Also, I did some experimenting, and I found that if you add a teaspoon of baking soda into the dryer with a medium size load, it gets rid of the burnt smell. Another option, is to mix 15 drops of essential oil’s with 2 cups of white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray a 6 x 9 cloth and make it completely moist, and then add that to your dryer every time you are starting a new cycle. Not only does that get rid of the burnt smell, it also adds a really nice fragrance. I use lemon for my essential oil, but I’m sure that there are many other good options out there. Good luck to everyone!
Its been my experience with dryers, if they have a hot or smokey smell at the end you've dried the clothes too long. Try decreasing the amount of drying time and see if that helps.
PAN760SF specs: Power: 1500 Watts (high), 750 Watts (low, guesstimate) Capacity: 13 lbs or 5.9 kg For comparison: I have a Hoover 175 (Australian model) which is: Power: 2200 Watts (high), 1250 Watts (low) Capacity: 7 lbs or 3.2 kg As 2200 Watts is quite a low of power, I only use my dryer on the low setting. I dry 15 pairs of trunk type underwear, 4 pairs of 'business' socks, 4 pairs or 'thermal' socks, 1 tea towel, and 1 hand towel. It takes about 45-50 minutes. Which equates to 937 - 1042 Watt/hours of energy use. Using the Panda at 1500 Watts would mean the same amount of clothes would take 38-42 minutes. A good tip to speed up drying, is to include a dry towel. The towel heats up, so it adds extra heat.
Had one a few years, watch back of dryer for lint buildup in exhaust...mine clogged n i had to buy a fuse for dryer to get it to work....u just remove lint hose n look into if clogged remove back n clean out lint....just letting u know before u lose a fuse lol this model is notorious for it....
I just bought this dryer. The drum wouldn't turn. I had to take the back off. It was hanging . I put the belt back on, the rib side towards the drum. I don't have any burn smell, which I'm happy about.
Great, quick little review. I'm waiting for mine to be delivered. Question, did that smell ever go away after being used for a while or is it something that will probably always be a thing I will have to deal with? Thanks.
Is it still running? What are your thoughts now that you've had it for quite awhile? I'm wanting to set one up in my apt. (along with a portable washer) that doesn't have hook-ups so I don't have to pay $10+/load at the laundromat.
Hi Rob, I would absolutely buy this dryer again. In fact, I will never buy a gas dryer again. The price of gas is so high right now, that I am saving money. Plus, I don’t have to worry about leaks, hook up, or tear down issues. And it’s definitely cheaper. If you haven’t already, I would definitely get one!
@@hughflanagan3110 I did end up getting one (same model#), and I LOVE it! It is SO nice to do laundry in my apt. instead of trudging to the laundromat - not to mention much cheaper too. I didn't have any burn smell with mine, and mine has slightly different controls than yours has, so they may have tweaked their design. Thanks for the follow up.
It’s doing great. I love everything about it. The cost was around $300. Natural gas is more expensive than electric. And the hook up could not be easier. I strongly recommend it!
Hi Mrs. strawberry, The company that makes The stand is Regency. It is a 30 x 24. The company that sells it is webstaurant store online. The price is $116.99. It’s an excellent stand. Good luck with everything! Here is the link: www.webstaurantstore.com/regency-30-x-24-16-gauge-stainless-steel-equipment-stand-with-galvanized-undershelf/600ES3024G.html
Question for you, I have this dryer and it looks like yours has feet? Mine does not. Is this something you purchased after or did they come with the dryer?
I recently got the PAN60SF not the 760. Mine is 3.5 sq ft so a fraction smaller. So far, like 5 loads,no burned smell at and it runs smooth and quiet. I did just now hear a steady sort of "clack" and checked it,the blanket(not quilt or anything thick)had rolled up into a cylinder shape and a trailing corner hitting the drum was the clack. Took it out, undid the shape and stuffed it back in,no problem now. Any burn smell from a dryer would be a worry and I wouldn't want to absorb it or mask it,I'd want to know the EXACT cause so I know how worried to be. Are the burned smell reports coming from well used machines, new machines,or both?
Hello, When I called up the manufacturer, and told him about the burn smell, they said that was normal and it would go away within a month. They were correct. There is no more burn smell!

Thanks j.!
Thank you SO much for the stand info! I’ve been searching for one.
Jami Miller I’m glad it worked out for you!
Thanks for the stand info! I'm glad I check dimensions almost purchased another on Amazon and realized it would have been too short for the dryer.
You are welcome Lucy!

How has this dryer held up? Thanks bud

Experiencing a large sharp noise on this because I'm getting a sharp noise on mine and I just got my state for yesterday please let me know
Hi Christine, sorry you are going through that. Sorry about the late reply. I hope your issue is resolved.
Question for you, I have this dryer and it looks like yours has feet? Mine does not. Is this something you purchased after or did they come with the dryer?
Jami Miller Yes, mine does have feet that came with it. I’m not sure why yours doesn’t. Maybe your model is a little bit different?

@@hughflanagan3110 Now I'm even more curious to know the cause of the burn smell, and why mine didn't have it.
A new belt will have a smell until it stretches.
I think there might be a little oil or paint on the heating element that it gets from the factory and it just burns off after using it
hugh you running scams man you work for panda ?? you got other videos on this product under different names
Actually Frank, somebody stole my review and used it for their own purposes. Not much I can do about that.
