Half crazy was and is still one of my absolute favorite songs. The lyrics hit deep for me. On both of these. The beat is such a sad one, because I have been through Musiq’s version, now currently stuck in Lucky’s version. Musiq is a hard man to top..Lucky Daye OVERSTOOD the assignment. Both songs make me cry🥲.

I think the sample is so fitting because if you think about it, the dynamics of the relationship described in this song is enough to drive a person “Halfcrazy”. The constant pushing and pulling, bringing you up and then letting you down… it all takes a toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Him using “over and over” shows that this idea of going/being halfcrazy is like a never ending cycle.
