I have 1200's and djm-s9, do I need to have the serato software cd in the laptop for the very 1st time hooking this up?
Nice but you can't scroll on the computer to find songs on those old CDJ1000's which sucks balls when trying to quick mix. But its a nice hack for beginners.
can this work with a pioneer djm250mk2 ? i have it hooked up to my pc for usb sound. i have mk3's as decks

will the pitch function and other features be accessible on the CDJ 1000 through DVS connection to serato or is it just the jogwheel & play & stop buttons?
Hot Cues and master tempo button does not work. You would have to control those functions within Serato. How Manual Loops work depends on what mode you have Serato in. Relative or Absolute Mode.
Btw question: my mk3 1000 stops playing (the serato cd ends) how do you prevent this? It’s annoying cause I always have to restart the track mid gig

yep you need a SERATO SL3 INTERFACE

Does the Cue button work on this setup? i've got my old CDJ 800s and scratch live 2.5 (yeah old stuff). when i try to set a cue point it acts like a pause button instead of letting SL know to jump back to the cue point. I could've sworn this used to work with my old laptop.
Please let me know because I am about to get the cdj-800s and I want to hook them to my DDJ sx3 and I want to know if it's compatible to play four decks
@@anewbetterme9277 for SL1 (SL software ver 2.5) i can tell you that so far it appears i need to be in ABS and not REL mode. In ABS most if not all of the CDJ 800 controls work. however on the flip side you can not use hot cues and loops from the SL software using the turntable. I do have a simple MIDI controller i'm using to control SL FX which works pretty well and may decide to use it to start hot cues (although the MIDI only has limited buttons and knobs). I think with the right MIDI setup you can get most things to work except REL mode.

I have a DJM450 and 2xMK3 but after setting it up the DVS is not recognizing
Will the loop function work pls ??
In Relative Mode only the time code CD will be looped. Not the track playing in Serato. In This mode you don't have to worry about constantly restarting the CD before the track ends on the CD, which would stop the track playing in Serato.
In Absolute Mode it will loop the CD and track playing in Serato but you will have to Manually restart the CD before it reaches the end and if you have to restart the CD it will restart the track playing in Serato. You'll have to remember to restart the CD before starting your next track. You don't want to start a 4 minute song and then realize you only have 1 minute left on the CD.

The mixer is your interface
yes the mixer comes with build in Serato in it !
I recommend exploring a third gen CDJ and using HID mode instead of timecode. That way you can use all the buttons on your CDJ like a controller.
Pri yon Joni I have a pair pioneer cdj 2000 nexus with a Rane 72 mixer. I used my cdjs in HID mode. But you got to understand that the average guy don’t have a pair of 2000s. I’m doing this video for the average guy. But thank you for you input!

Mitch C because that model cdj doesn’t have usb. It connects the same way you would hook up a turntable with rca cables.
