      amber wells I was thinking northside too because I'm from Homestead Rd and some areas reminded me of Settegast, Kashmere Gardens and 5th. Ward. He is actually on the southside around Scott St. and Cullen Blvd. @ 6:20, he is on Galesburg St. near Cullen. I know some of the people on camera. @ 7:11, that was Screwed Up Records & Tapes old spot (blue building.) This is mainly the Sunnyside neighborhood area.

    These comments crack me up. "oh its not that bad"... Is it supposed to be??? Folk thinkin they gonna see a hood movie. There is a such thing as black folk in the hood minding their own business and chilling, getting along with their neighbors and kids playing outside.

    • @dr_hellcat_6664
      @dr_hellcat_6664 6 років тому +8

      supa dupa does it always have to be black folk? Don’t think you’ve noticed but actually an abundance of black people are actually mid class and are living in suburbs not hoods

    In Houston we have laws in place to keep gangs from getting a foot hold, like if they tag your building YOU have to get it off within 24hrs or the city will fine you $500 for every day its left up. We have lots of cop visibility, and work hard to give youth places to go after school etc. You can keep livestock inside the city limits as long as the area you have them in is large enough to accommodate the animals and is at lest 100 ft from any residential house. Some of the trash and debris you see on the side of the streets are left over from Hurricane Harvey flooding, some folks are just now able to afford gutting their homes and rebuilding. Large trash pick up will have it removed usually within the month it's set out. All in all for the most part, Houston is the largest hometown city in the nation, we treat our neighbors neighborly, and have respect for each other more so than any other city i've been in.

    • @UrbanOutlaw713
      @UrbanOutlaw713 6 років тому +7

      kellibomb facts. Do u remember what the city looked like before they started making them take the gang graffiti down right away ? Gang problem was worse inner city Houston was all tagged up. That lil law did a lot

      I wouldn't say there's 'lots' of cop visibility. Currently HPD is understaffed by 1000+ and Houston is the biggest city geographic wise so many places it feels like there's no police at at.

    • @MostlyCloudy

      Charlie Ledet Not exactly. There's really nothing to brag about as far as ghettos go, but this looks like a normal suburb to me compared to Chicago where I live. I live in Chicago's Austin neighborhood which is quite possibly the most dangerous patch of land on American soil. In 2018 alone we've had 153 shootings and 32 homicides on a patch of land that's only about 4 square miles. If you can survive where I live you can survive anywhere.

    Houston is set up like New Orleans, as in, the Wards are where a lot of the visually scary hoods are. This is mostly the south side/South Park area and some north side. Don’t get me wrong, screw around in these places and you’ll find yourself on the wrong end of a forest grave. However, they don’t look too hood’ish. The 5th and 3ed are the scary spots.

    FYI - Houston has ordinances on keeping stock animals, and in most of the city you can't keep horses. The area you're in is called Sunny Side and or South Acres a bit further south. These areas don't allows horses. Having said that, the city's unofficial policy is essentially, no blood, no foul. As long as nobody complains the city isn't going to do anything about it. There's an area in the northern section of Houston called Acres Homes which allows stock animals.

    What exactly is the point of this video? The homes are not even so bad. I have lived in one of the Houston "hoods" in the past. If you mind your business, you will be as safe as the queen of England. I guess anywhere there are "too many" black people of lower economic status, it must be "dangerous". 2) There is multiple churches, crackheads, or funeral homes on every other corner in the neighborhood.
    3) Someone is randomly riding a horse down the street.
    4) There's a nice ass house right next to a condemned house.

Sunnyside is one of the few urban areas I can think of whose Street View on Google Maps is still the first pass that Google Cars made in 2006 & 2007. If you go to Scott & Rosemont on Google Maps, you can tell they haven't been back. There's a grainy look to the old Street View rendering.
