Idea for your two shelves on the left of your sink? Put basket on lower shelf with pops of color, towels and dish cloths, and your pitcher and greenery on the top shelf. Just an idea. Love your kitchen!!
I forgot to mention, in my earlier comment, how glad I am that you kept the spoon/tool thing that you found in your kitchen. What a great keepsake. And the wallpaper that was underneath - I can imagine it was gorgeous in it's time. It makes me imagine the person choosing that and being so happy to have it on the walls.

I love the small rug you have in front of the sink that's very pretty. I love the baskets that you're putting in the kitchen on those little shelves. You and your husband are doing such a great job getting this kitchen together thank goodness he's able to do a lot of this stuff which will save you a lot of money and get it done how you want it. So excited to see it finished.

Your kitchen is really looking beautiful. Crazy idea...but since you're going to do the push open feature on those corner drawers, just to keep things looking consistent I would be tempted to take a closeup photo of the bin pull, photocopy on good quality paper, and decoupage it on the drawer fronts !!!

It is looking so good. I know you’re frustrated about the windows, but once it’s done, you will be so happy with it. You can always put a large picture or a poster on the window board until it comes in. I know it’s only for a short time, but it might make you feel better. ❤️

First time commenting.....You could paint the underside of the floor cabinet to match the kick plate. You won't notice it at all. The only reason you notice it is because it's a different color. Everything looks beautiful. What a difference. Can't wait to see more.

I just love how everything is turning out! Bread container is nice! It diffidently caught my eye quick. My favorite is the shelves by your window and the decor above your stove. I have a white pitcher and now you gave me an idea to add some greenary.
I unpack 2 boxes of decor and are neatly in a corner. I am slowly now hanging 2 frames up a day in my new appartment. BABY STEPS HEHEHE!

As others have said, you truly were blessed with an amazing husband. He seems so even tempered and such an involved family man. I was also blessed with a wonderful husband and I'm thankful every day for him. We just had our 34th anniversary and I'm only sad I've not had him longer.

Just a small suggestion - when I redid our cabinets I added crown moulding to the top of the cabinets and it added the finishing touch, plus you could “raise” the piece over your stove, then it would all be the same height? Just a thought ❤️

I just love how you said it's time to be done, it's been about a month, I had to giggle as it reminded me when we renovated our kitchen almost 30 years ago and we didn't have a kitchen sink for three years and one month LOL everything is coming together for you it is looking amazing, I can't wait for you to be able to sit back and enjoy it, it's all worth it!! Love everything!!

Lol! We were in our 20s, didn't want to get a loan, we bought everything when it was on sale, put in garage till we had everything, then put the kitchen together..did dishes in the bathroom and thought it was worth it! Lol! You're home is absolutely lovely!!

You and Marion have done a wonderful job, renovating your kitchen. I know you're anxious for the final pieces to fall into place -- and they will. And, so, as you wind up your renovation project, we begin ours (we hope), for we've finally found a house to buy for our retirement. It was built in 1968, so the stick-built cabinets are still quite usable, although they need a good scrubbing and a few coats of paint, but the counter top, floor, and appliances all have to go. Like you, we'll be on a tight budget. I'm still putting my design plan together, but a wonderful inspiration photo is coming in very handy. So have all the tips you've given during your renovation project. "Well, Arika and Marion did it this way." Bless you both.

Hi just wanted to make a comment about the bead board backsplash. You probably could put it up and have it overrun into were the window trim would go. Your carpenter should be able to cut out the excess with a shallow blade setting on a circular saw or a plunge cutter. It would take the carpenter 5-10 minutes. You could always call the carpenter first just to make sure. The kitchen is really coming along nicely. I cash flowed my kitchen remodel. It took 2.5 years but it’s finally finished. Kitchens can be stressful but it’s worth it.

Lovely kitchen. Have you considered putting hinges on the two drawers that you can’t put hardware on. You could have magnetic closures to keep them in place. Or, have false fronts, by using magnets to hold the fronts on and just take them off to open the drawers. Just some ideas, I like a good challenge.
It all looks so good! Waiting is hard but it will be worth it.

Wal Mart carries an under the sink mat that is waterproof. I know you will be happy to get through with your project. It's the waiting that makes me crazy. When we built our house in 2000, it took eight months. There were days when it looked like it would never be finished. The workers liked coming in at 10, and leaving by 2!! You will really enjoy your renovation when it's done, so that makes it worth the wait.

So glad you took a break. You guys deserved it. Everything is looking so nice! The downside of redoing a space is what happens to the rest of the house. I, like you, can only handle the mess for so long. My husband has to keep me in check, lol. It will all be so worth it in the end.

I’m loving how everything is coming together! One suggestion on the floating shelf decor, maybe swap the basket and other decor then you can use the basket for fresh fruits/ veggies. Either way, it all looks amazing!

I don't know how many times during my kitchen redo I had to wait on things on order. Sorry, you are having to do that. You've made me want to paint my cabinets. They are 30 years old Oak Cabinets and I just want to do something different. My husband acts like they are brand new when I mention paint. lol Does anybody else have that problem? Painr that gap over the kickplate white, and it will blend in even more. A piece of that wallpaper framed would make a cute rectangular plaque. Nostalgic.
