The dark color on the edges before you painted the parts was absolutely a genius, that really really helped this kit pop off in my opinion. I’m defiantly gonna be using that little trick in the future
NGL, this is my very first perfect grade. A co-worker was cleaning his garage and found this in a trash bag (without the box, just all the runners and stuff in a trash bag) He said all the parts were present and after getting to the chest piece it does look like all the parts and screws are here. Excited to finish this, though, I didn't even think about painting the model. I already have the legs, arms and shoulders connected and painting those now seems like a hassle since I feel I'd have to disconnect those and redo them.
Jaylon W. I painted the regular white unicorn gold, basically sprayed every single white piece. I did each piece separately since I wanted some color separation in certain areas
Gundam Wing is what started me building at 10 years old, i stopped building about 8 years ago and now im getting back into it and i want to get every wing zero Gundam i can find and build
Lol this was my first gundam kit period, wayyyy back in 2000 when I was 16. Took me about to week to build and cost me $120. Was using razor blade to cut from runners (and seriously cutting myself), krazy glue, and few more mistakes here and there. Lasted for few years and slowly got damaged more and more along the way (having a bro that doesn't know how to take care of shit). I eventually un-built it and stored it away until I can someday do a full repair. Did pick up another new kit few months ago but not building it until I can ensure its protected and built to same caliber.
I was thinking getting this and perfecting this gundam this time since it's my third gundam and my first PG kit and I'm also good at electronics and wiring so I won't think this will be a hassle but who knows you won't unless you try also yolo
This WAS my 1st perfect grade lol. Its still waiting for paint. After all is said and done, this kit has a great shelf/ display potential, its a classic
Dang I bought this PG not too long ago from the model shop around my area and it's probably the first PG I'll ever build which might be overwhelming 💀. At first I had my eye on the PG RX-78 that I've been saving up for but unfortunately, when I finally had enough for it, someone already took it. Nut to my surprise I saw the Wing Zero and got that instead. Hopefully it'll all go well lmfaoo. WISH ME LUCK!
I really like that black you put under. It makes it look like planes that have that soot or whatever it is. I do think it's maybe too much on the wings and the metalic might be a bit too sparkly. Maybe the blue and red needed a bit MORE of that sparkly lol and glossy like metal. And maybe using that marker that makes the lines black. But yeah, really satisfying to see this Gundam figure become more acomplished.
I know this video is pretty old now but I’ve watched nor read any reviews on this particular PG Wing Gundam but I think it’s pretty sick that Bandai made the wing sections rubber instead of plastic. I would imagine that it gives you a bit more flexibility and posing! Keep up the good work @OtakuBuilder ❤❤❤
This is my first perfect grade, and im working on it right now. I've had some electrical experience, and its very helpful teaching me how model leds work
@@santiagogarcia1606 Its so hard to stand on its own, i cant put it into any neat poses without it falling over or just slowly falling down and its just annoying
It's about time Bandai makes: - MG XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero Custom (EW) 2.0 - MG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam (EW) 2.0 Great job with the build. I will say though that this PG is definitely showing its age. Besides having to use screws and having to construct the LED, the design looks very stocky and the proportions seem off.
Love this man.mi always wanted this kit..since he is my favorite gundam and gundam pilot..I am building the strike freedom pg..but now I am stuck because I took soo long on it and always put it to the side that the paint I first started I cant find anymore so now its just sitting in its box unpainted.
Never cared for the feathered wing look on this model. It always blows my mind how good these kits look when you spend the time to paint them. I do wish that Bandai would update some of their older PG kits like the Zaku an Zeta.
Go back ins update PG. Damn you asking for a lot. In 12 years only got like 1 or 2 brand new PGs the rest is rehash Strike, Exia , 00, and Bandai bread and butter Unicorn.
I'm the same, a 00 starter. I think the thing that draws me most to these wings kits tho is how I feel when I hear The Wings of the Boy who Killed Adolescence
The beauty of this kit is just astounding, I was thinking this should be my first perfect grade model lol and I was curious if I do actually need the LED lights???
they need to make a 2.0 version of this kit to fix the proportions a bit but and make it closer to the master grade version. the master grade kinda out shines the perfect grade a bit.
Watching you build this model is like building a real robot. LEDs, switches, screws and paint jobs. That's just too much hassles for me. HG all the way.
Hobby Link Japan had a surprise drop of a few units of this kit a little bit ago. I decided not to get it because I'm still bloody waiting for the PG Exia to get back in stock (also because I basically _just_ bought the old MG kit), but it sold out pretty damn quickly. Listening to your intro, I wonder where they found them.
Was there a guide to placing the decals? I bought some decals seperatly and i thought it would come with something and dont remember anything in the booklet seeing decals were not provided in base kit
As much as I loved the anime growing up I don't think I'd ever buy the wing zero pg kit. I think G gundam and gundam wing were the dark ages of gundam design. I do have a heavy arms on the self but that's ample representation for the whole Era.
Sometimes when the kit is already loaded with detail it can be a case of "less is more" in terms of painting. Not that I've attempted it yet in any of the three kits I have built so far, need to get some HG kits to try it on, been thinking about trying to make a custom Jegan
love the result of your paint work been watching a few of them and forgive me for asking as i am new to the hobby and skip rattle cans all together and investing in an airbrush set. Is there a reason you use both rattle can and airbrush? Is there a benefit in using both or can you just use one or the other?
I know I'm super late to this video but, I just bought this and didn't realize it didn't come with decals. Where did you find a location guide to apply the waterslides?

So I just recently got into Gunpla, and having selected Wing Zero Custom MG for my FIRST Gunpla was a mistake! Wing Zero isn’t for rookies at all! The wings are it’s own set of problems, to say nothing of the HEAVY beam rifle. I am am in awe of people who can do this level of work on their kits though
I am planning on building this kit in the future and would like to replace the LEDs. I was wondering if you used the battery compartment in the kit? I was also wondering in your builds what kind of switch do you use and what kind of batteries and battery compartment you use in your builds? Thanks.
Sir can your PG kit stand normally with all the wings attach? cause mine cant and being pulled from the back? and does the metal where you attach the legs move easily? or is it kinda thigh thanks!
I was about to paint brush my perfect grade wing zero , but then I saw you air brushing. I’ve never air brushed before. Is it easy? What do you recommend?
Very nice looking, man. How much force did you use at 18:00? I've been working on mine and when I get to that step, I have to exert so much pressure that the springs inside come undone.
@@OtakuBuilder Huh, maybe it's something to do with owning the pearl gloss version, or perhaps it's just because it's an older mold of it. The wing part will push in a bit, and then get stuck, and extra pressure has to be used, and the springs fly everywhere. Maybe I'll just have to file down the pegs somewhat.
@Otaku Builder I just finished watching the YT video for this and in the process of doing this kit. How did you wire the LEDs for power and to turn them on and off? Using the existing backpack design or something custom?
Can anyone help me understand the process. First he sprayed the blue parts with primer. Then he sprayed it with like black in the panel lines. Then sprayed again coating everything in blue. Which covers the black sprays earlier. What is the logic in that? Im a total newb in painting. And gunpla as well.
