Great job on the video my rig is set up the same way. However, I think I will install from the outside to give more room to work. Thanks again.

The reason your kit didn't include drill bits is that you didn't need them (it says that in the instructions). You went and bought drill bits that you didn't need for the install. The bolts provided were self-drilling bolts, which will make their own holes of the correct size. The nut driver was provided (instead of drill bits) to use with your drill to drive in the bolts.
    Thanks for the video.

Great video. I too have a Grand Design 2600RB and I’m about to mount a bike rack on the bumper. But then I got worried about the weight. My question is, since the Safety Struts are being bolted to the part that is a,ready holding up the bumper (and not an actual part of the frame), do you feel that this bracket is really adding any additional support?

Struts are bolted to the frame and bumper. If you look closely, you can see where the bumper is welded to the frame with a thin angle iron. The strut goes over the angle iron and is bolted to the bumper and frame. Spacers are included to fill the space beside the angle iron where the bolts go into the frame. No question, there is additional support. If you have any other questions, please ask. After really looking at the way the bumper is attached at the factory, it scared me that I had hauled two ebikes without the support on a couple trips.

@@practicingretirement7732 Thank you for your response. I will look more closely when I go to the camper next time. I did order the struts, and am looking forward to installing them. Your video helped me a lot.

How has the bumper held up 2 years later

I noticed you have an extra hitch on the bumper. I am trying to install a bike rack, but since part of the bumper is actually under the body of the camper, how did you get those two bolts in the mount? Even putting the nut on top of the mount doesn’t work because the bolts are too long. I’m about to go to Lowes to get shorter bolts.

Sorry for the late response. I'm sure you have it mounted by now. I don't remember how I got the bolts on. I remember it took some trying. Are you all setup now?
