- Got a promising time against this big guy, Scorned Magnamalo is fun as heck even if he can be a bit iffy at times.
All spawns of his are pretty good but the best is in Area 13, which we didn't get, but to make up for it we got a Rajang right next to him. The Shocktrap opener was a really good suggestion from a viewer and it works out well with the para weapons from my palamutes.
I used Windmill once to manage the wyvern ride gauge without KO'ing him within the paralyze itself, if you're wondering. And he's pretty resistant to element, therefore we used some good old raw poison bashing with some PRs.

Very nice run and quite original style of showing the controller button input. I like that. As an SnS noob I always love seeing the pros I aspire to play like and seeing the button presses really does help, I always wondered why nobody does that in Monster Hunter

@@Dr_Philliam Your builds are so good, I have no idea how anyone with a straight face could rank SnS the 5th or 6th best weapon instead of #1. I'm no speedrunner and I consider myself strictly average at the game, and I don't have the 2 Attack/2 WEX charm you use for those builds, but just for shits and giggles I tried out your Dragon Element SnS build against an Afflicted Rathian solo, and it felt like I was beating up a High Rank Rathian with Master Rank gear. It's stupidly overpowered and I felt sorry for the Rathian. I learn so much from your videos, please do keep them coming! :)

Seeing people run different rawSnS, from Wroggi to Fios SnS to the Kamura one, I wonder, why does nobody use the Furious Rajang one? I find it to be quite nice, good sharpness, 330 raw + 2 lvl2 slots. So what is your opinion on it?
Thanks! Furious jang doesn't have the rampage lvl 2 slot and therefore is not viable due to missing the anti monster decos

You used windmill in this speedrun, I was under the impression that it wasn’t as good of a punish as Lateral combo or lateral twin. Is the only reason you used it to get wyvern riding faster?

dose the drity graf outperform the rath SnS? if so this is a sad day i loved the look of rath :(
The dirty graf has 350 raw with the same sharpness, so 20 more raw. So I'm preeetty sure it does :c it's an ugly SnS but at least it doesn't have many uses outside of this. Raw SnS is less common for sure rn. Maybe that'll change with more skill points idl
i dont know how i missed that tbh, probably saw it was great wroggi and instantly dismissed it.
i really hope we dont move over to raw builds im having a lot of fun using ELE its nice having more than 2 SnS.
Is Sword and Shield your go-to? Or is it one of a few weapons you enjoy? Personally I've been enjoying Swaxe and Insect Glaive
I only play SnS! Haven't played anything else in ages :D But I did main SA and IG before that in 4U
Awesome run! I've seen a few videos now where people use 2 shock traps or 2 pitfall traps in a continuous run. How do you do that? That'd be very handy.
I imagine they bring both the traps, and then the materials needed to craft those traps on the fly (2 Trap Tools and Net/Thunderbug)
Just wondering, do you use the type 1 or type 2 directional control settings? I hear some people find type 2 easier for backhops

Is the hard basher playstyle still viable/is it better to run drill slash instead?
It's good for raw focused hunts and KO management in freestyle. That's the main reason why you see me use it a bit, but slashing deals more damage. Hitzones also play a role. E.g. Teostra takes more impact damage on the head than cut, so shield bashing becomes a lot better by itself and can compare with slashing again
