Jungkook Is only 26 years old, 5 ft. 10 inch tall (not short) and he’s Korean not Chinese. He’s also listed as one of the top 200 greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. The only male K-pop idol on the list. Also one of the few artists with a perfect pitch. He has a lot of achievements and records as a soloist. He’s just amazing 💯
Replace "I wish western artists would do this music" with "I wish they'd play HIM on the radio"... Western radio stations shy away from playing Korean artists for some reason, even though they are massive globally... and even when they have songs all in English. BTS and JK are so much bigger than K-Pop, wish they'd get a fair shot on the US radio.
@queeniect76, I can tell you why the reason why Jungkook’s music or any other music that is from BTS or any other Korean artists even if they are singing an English doesn’t get a fair shake on the radios spin which is a rotation of certain amount of songs that are played on the hour! The word is “payola“ that’s where you pay to play! for instance this is an example:” an artist who is signed under Columbia records their company will pay radio stations for the artist new song to be played on a rotation hourly so it is called pay to play! The artist will get quicker recognition by the audience listening to the radio station and identifying with this song is gonna be like an earworm because you’re gonna hear it rotation constantly and people are going to like that song that’s just a way of how to get an artist popularity! HYBE labels will not do that they didn’t do that back in 2018 and 2019 when they were being interviewed by a lot of radio stations they will not do payola , that’s one reason, The other reason is because they are South Korean and they speak Korean and they also sing in Korean, the majority of the music is mixture of English but mostly Korean and they will not put that on the radio station because they believe that no one will listen to that music unless it’s in English especially when it’s being played in the United States! Another example of how the Billboard charts have changed their rules and regulations because BTS were the first South Koreans to chart #1for their song “dynamite” and also for “butter” and for” permission to dance”! yes it was an all English songs that counted but they only got one spin or a few spins for “life goes on“ song, because that song was mostly Korean with a little English mixed in! Those are the few examples that I can think of but the most horrific example was when Jimin did his song “like crazy” in English as well as Korean when the English version of what was played on the radio and it did go on the Billboard chart as #1 it was only on for one week and then the rules changed again for the billboard charting because they knew that BTS or the solo song that park Jimin sang was going to dominate the American and English singing artist! That is the xenophobic and racism that BTS have endured since the beginning of their debut! Until American and western radio stations will play Korean music as well as other cultural music besides American artist English-speaking songs we will never get to hear BTS or other Korean K-pop artist who have dominated charting on on the Billboard hot 100! 💜 I hope that this explained ,sorry for the long explanation !be well my fellow ARMY😊💜
@atypicalbardot, yes I understand what you’re saying and yes I believe that there are many UA-cam channels and focal coaches that have UA-cam channels that want to explore BTS and K-pop! And the reason for that is BTS is very popular they’re internationally known now and they see other UA-cam channels getting large amount of subscribers and that’s what they probably think is easy that us BTS ARMYs are easy targets to come and flock to their channel just because they’re doing BTS but yet they’re not sincere! They have arterial motives just for themselves to get more subscribers that way! I’m so tired of seeing UA-cam channels that say “I am reacting to the first time to BTS” “Or non-K-pop fan reacts to BTS” totally sickening and so fake! And you’re probably very right most of these vocal coaches would prefer to have an American or western English-speaking singer to do this song! BTS were the first ones to break on the Billboard music awards other first and second generation and other third generation of K-pop could not do this BTS were the first and now she would probably like to have an American artist cover this song that’s the disrespect and the xenophobic behavior that is prevalent in the United States and in the western countries that is what makes me upset! Jungkook should be able to expand make it in the United States as an international artist and be successful!💜smfh
Global doesn't mean USA and Canada, global means New Zealand, Australia, India, Japan, England, Europe. the rest of Asia, Africa - world wide genuinely. This band is THE TOP of the world at the moment. They are a supergroup. By the way I am 71 years old, a music fanatic and I love love love BTS and all the members together and solo. Also BTS is way past the genre 'boy band". The height conversation just really annoyed me, the guy talking doesn't know what he is talking about. Many Korean men are very tall. One K-Pop band called KNK group average height is 185cm (over 6 ft).
just as a note: they specifically cast and look for tall guys, e.g. I’ve heard from one trainee how they were made to drink a liter of milk each day so they would grow taller. Just saying, the height of K-idols is not the average height of Koreans. Same goes for K-actors.
@@JackInTheBox0294 Milk is something many people drink because it contains calicuim for good strong bones and teeth also for the protein which is very much required for strong muscles which is needed for dancers. However milk isn't great for singers we avoid it 24hours before singing also anything else milk based like chocolate
great reaction! i wish the people providing information off camera actually knew what they were talking about cause she really asked some great questions but was given false or no information at all.
This is NOT KPOP. 71 year old BTS Army here. The song you say is Usher inspired is actually co-written by Ed Sheeran and Ed Sheeran is playing the guitar on the original track. None of Jung Kook's solo songs are Kpop. They are written by American Grammy winning songwriter/producers such as Andrew Watt (who wrote/produced for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and others.), Cirkut, a Canadian (who wrote/produced for Rihanna, Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and others.), British David Stewart, (who co-wrote "3D" and also co-wrote the BTS megahit "Dynamite".), Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, and many others but none are Korean. They were recorded in America (mostly if not all were recorded in Watt's studio in L.A.) and the MVs were directed by Americans and a Ukranian director. They were filmed in America at Universal Studios in Hollywood, Kentucky, and Hungary. The dancers and choreographers are American. Jung Kook stated his ambition is to be a huge pop star and the billions of streams for his single and album prove that his dream is coming true right now. (He has broken Spotify streaming records). His solo singles and album are all English. He is being hailed as this generation's new pop star. Thanks for the reaction!
I'm sorry, if you judge what is kpop by this standard, most songs by kpop artists are not kpop. Most kpop groups use songs from writers, producers from all over the world. Even the choreographies and music videos are often made by western artists. So what really defines kpop if really the production is a global enterprise?
And also i don't understand why compare him to other about something like singing very good, when you don't know him because this is just his first album like solist where he wanted to show new aspects about him but, this doesn't show all his capacity, talents and everything he has done in the past so before tell what you imagine and judging just take all the right information.
@@jjkoo7254I think it's the mentality beacuse he is korean they can't say he is good .With that i'm not saying they are racist but they have a close mentality. They can't appreciate a korean artist, and not beacause they don't want it,it could be something uncoscious. He is most that that limit ,he is a very great artist!
I'm 85 and have heard and been a fan of all the groups she mentioned, plus more. BTS is the best right now. Fun fact: All the BTS members are fans, are inspired by, and have done collaborations with many big artists. Jungkook is the main vocalist and has perfect pitch. Show her the Hate You Visualizer (the song was written by Shawn Mendez and others, Euphoria live from Japan, Left and Right with Charlie Puth or Truth Untold with the BTS vocal line All the dancers are famous choreographers who have worked with BTS, friends, and great dancers. I doubt height made any difference to JK. He's a little shy, but that combined with his confidence, bravery, and talent are really sexy. He's confident enough to sign perfectly to ARMY on Weverse for hours, and there's millions of people watching him. I enjoyed her questions and hope she digs deeper into JK and BTs Music. They're a very special group.
True! I was not a fan of any group singers but in my age 55 I was hooked with this group since last Oct 2023. It's my relaxation hearing their voice especially jk but i like them all. They are my stress reliever!
Jungkook's vocal range and the way he can manipulate the sound and tone of his voice to fit any genre/song is seriously incredible. If you want to hear more singing and maybe slower ballad songs I recommend you guys dive into more BTS songs and some of his other album tracks especially sung live! I recommend Hate you, Shot glass of tears from his solo album Golden and The truth untold, film out, Euphoria, my time, etc from BTS albums!! Thank you for the reaction and hope to see more!💜 There are also videos such as "Jungkook's amazing vocals 2023 update" or "Jungkook the main vocalist" from IDA S that really showcase his vocals which you guys might enjoy!
If she wants to know what is BTS or how good BTS are (in short cut) then She should watch "2021 BTS festa room live" (and there are tiny desk concerts also) it's short but Strong answer to her, i think she should definitely check that out Edit: she compared to so many people's here but i want to say she should definitely watch "2019 MAMA AWARD FULL LIVE PERFORMANCE "it's incomparable . I'm sure she can't compare it with anyone
Stop saying he is the Asian Version of other artist ... He is an amazing singer/ performer who happens to be Asian. He is himself and doesn't need to be compared to other artist.
Two of those dancers are actually famous choreographers. Can Americans have a conversation about Asian entertainers without commenting on their height? Also, did you say JK wants to be JT? Are You that clueless? This is embarrassing.
Jungkook just turned 26 yrs old on Sept 1st. This performance is from Nov 6th, 2023. He has been doing this for the last 10 yrs. So he is a pro, and one of the most humble superstars out there. That's why so many millions stan him. And he is drop dead gorgeous. What more can you ask for. Btw, his debut single hit #1 on all 3 Billboard charts. And the next 2 were top 5. I feel he will only get bigger once he is back from the military! I totally loved your reaction, btw. Do suggest you watch his iheart live performance of SNTY.
FYI.....1. Jungkook was born on Sept 1, 1997, he is 26-year-old now. 2. Jungkook is 5'10", the dancers are pretty famous, some of them were JK's favorites since he was young. 3. Jungkook looks up to Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Charlie Puth, Usher....and of course Michael Jackson, but he isn't imitating any of them. 4. Jungkook and BTS fans ranges from kids to seniors. 5. Jungkook is the singer for the FIFA World Cup 2022 IN Qatar, he sang "dramers" there. 6. Jungkook's song "Seven" was on Hot 100 No. 1 when it was released in July 2023. 7. BTS is world famous, their songs "Dynamite", "Butter", and "Permission to dance" were all on Hot 100 when they were released. And they got "Artist of the Year' at the American Music Awards in 2021. I guess the reaons u dont know them because the western radio stations normally dont play much of BTS and members' solo songs. While I do appreciate u praising Jungkook, but it is pretty annoying to watch your reaction video because u kept on stopping the performance video and talking about yourself, chatting. Anyway thank you.
Thank you for reacting. I'm a 52 year old ARMY (BTS fan), and you might be keen to know that 25% of their fan base is over the age of 40. I liked your reaction but was surprised when you said he wasn't on your radar in the current pop scene. 3 of the songs he performed here have made it to the top 5 of the Billboard 100, and BTS have had 6 number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 since 2020. JK is pitch perfect. You might like to view his recent iHeart radio performance of "Hate You" and "Standing Next To You". He sounds awesome without the dancers and with a live band 💜
JK is definitely the whole package. This live performance is just the tip of the iceberg as far as his vocals go. You should listen to Stay Alive, Still with you and even Falling (which is a Harry Styles cover) among a few. He loves to sing live, sitting at his home or in his studio without much accompaniment or dancing. He is the main vocal of BTS for a reason. And of course, all the members of BTS have their strengths singularly but together their synergy is amazing to watch and hear live! I enjoyed your reaction. A lot of ARMY would say that you need to go to the back of the line though, since a lot of youngsters and “cougars” are already waiting in line 😂
Can we just appreciate HIS TALENT The comparison while sometimes fun, we forget he’s been in this industry 10years. He is his own artist, that’s been inspired by many other great artists. He’s not the Asian Shaun mendes or Korean JT. He’s JK He’s uplifted people across the world brought joy to many. Let’s not undermine his talents by comparing him to ur preference.
Jungkook is amazing! I like that you recognize that he's singing live and dancing at the same time. I don't think you know that this young Korean man doesn't speak English, so he had to memorize all the songs and get the right inflection of each phrase as well. He did this in record time and was able to put out this album, with songs written by Ed Sheerhan, Sean Mendez, and others. He also did several versions of the songs, and teamed up with American artists, such as Usher, Justin Timberlake, Latto and Jack Harlow. His backing dancers are the best; at least 3 of them well-known choreographers in the industry. You may not have heard of BTS (the Korean group, of which Jungkook is the youngest) or Jungkook thus far as Korean groups don't get any radio play in the West. But, they have fans worldwide, a very powerful collection of fans who follow them religiously and support them wholeheartedly. BTS has performed in concerts around the world, the latest being in L.A. and Vegas (4 days) in 2022. They have also been on the Jimmy Fallon show a number of times as he's a great fan of theirs. They've also been on James Cordon a couple of times at least and taken part in his Carpool Karaoke ~ all SEVEN of them! You must watch and hear Jungkook just go off and sing part of their song "ON" acapella, with no warm up, while sitting with his "brothers" in the car, hitting notes perfectly with his perfect-pitch voice! Welcome to the rabbit hole, should you choose to enter! BTW - 70 year old West Coast Canadian grandmother here! 💗💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I agree. Jungkook was inspired by many singers like JB, JT, Usher, MJ, even Ariana Grande and IU from Korea. Those inspirations naturally became his style but he is uniquely JUNGKOOK alone.
Come on...hs is clearly drawing MAJOR inspiration from artists like MJ, JT, Usher and Justin Bieber. He is himself, but let's not pretend that he is completely unique in his approach.
jungkook is very captivating even when he is just doing karaoke for fun during live streams at his home, there's also more than enough videos of him singing without any background music etc
Btw, this was a surprise concert, just announced 30 min before it started! He is a global phenomenon!! These songs are from his album Golden which was released on Nov 3rd and this concert was on Nov 9th!! It blows me away that his fans are singing along word for word to songs that were released just 6 days prior! He has some dedicated fans for sure. ❤❤
Hi I'm a BTS ARMY from California, and I'm 57 years old. And I've been a fan of BTS since 2020. You will find that BTS is a very diverse group, and they are a Global supergroup for a reason. Over 300 million fans worldwide. BTS are known to have amazing songwriting, production, singers, and rappers. They only care about talent with their singers, dancers and choreographers, they don't choose them based on height. And JK talked a lot about how he is getting to work with some of his favorite dancers. They are some of the best dancers, and many of them are very well known in the dancing/entertainment world, and they have done choreography for him and BTS in the past. BTS members' height range is 5'9" to 6', and the age range of the members is 26 to 31, with Jungkook being the youngest, and the main vocalist for BTS (he started training with BTS at age 13/14) since their debut in 2013. And He's not trying to be Justin Timberlake. One of his major inspirations was Justin Beiber, and Michael Jackson is definitely a big influence. They are all influenced by Western Artists, since that is a lot of what they grew up listening to. As well as the Great Korean legends. Like Seo Taiji, and IU, PSY, Epic High, Big Bang, etc. They have, in my opinion, the best rappers, and the best vocalists, in the K-Pop industry, if not in world. I might be a little biased 😉 I get that you are trying to compare JK to Western artists, because that is what you know. But I assure you, he is not trying to be anyone but himself. And he has written and produced a lot of music with BTS and for BTS and his solo work. much of his most recent album was not written or produced by him, but he wanted to do an all English album, with different pop genre's, so that he could experiment with his sound, and see what he likes. He was challenging himself. Remember, his first language is Korean, and he is not yet fluent in English. He is getting there, but he can sing fluently in English, as well as Korean, and Japanese. Thanks, and I hope you take the time to check out more of Jungkook, and BTS. He's written some really beautiful songs, like Still With You, Film Out, Your Eyes Tell, Magic Shop, My You, and Stay. a few of those became BTS songs, and some are his solo songs. But he has at least 22 songs he's written or participated in composition, production, or songwriting. BTS also does contemporary dance, and JIMIN is the one that was trained in that dance style, as well as hip hop. K-POP is an industry, not necessarily a genre. In Korea they call it the IDOL system. Korean POP is separate from K-POP. BTS has been collaborating with Western Artists since 2014. But they didn't really start getting big in the USA until 2017. BTS is more than just K-Pop, and they don't have just one sound. *Pomichodai is SLAY in Korean.*
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I wanted to mention the same things. I think she should have researched a bit more before reacting to jungkook
Hi. Thank you for writing the truth about BTS. I'm 64 and started loving BTS since 2018. My favs are V & Jungkook till today. This album is produced and written by Americans, not Koreans., to explain the lyrics. They love to partner with Bighit Hybe now since BTS has a very big, powerful Army fandom. ✌️💜💜💜
Well, till half way through this reaction it was painful to watch. So many assumptions, judgement and even prejudice. She managed to come around and show the appreciation Jungkook deverves though. I hope you guys have the chance to show her and she's open to learn how great of a singer and performer JK is. I'm a 45yo fan btw.😉 ❤
Couldn’t agree more. There were a lot of backhanded compliments and it still only seemed that they were given because she realized how massive he is and that she might receive backlash if she didn’t compliment something
Shouldn’t have stayed … she kept stopping and having different conversations every 2 seconds it didn’t give her the opportunity to listen to the music. I truly hope you try and listen to a whole verse before stopping if you decide to try again, this goes to any other artist not just JK :)
Just chiming in to say I'm from Montreal, I'm 40, and I've been a fan of BTS and Jungkook for the past 9 years. The reason why you haven't heard much from them isn't that they're not at the top, it's because Western radio and media are refusing to play them since BTS and their company refuse to go down the whole Payola route. BTS have won multiple Billboard Music Awards and they've even won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. They have 5 Grammy nominations and they have won heaps of other awards. The sad truth is that radios still refuse to play them even though there is a demand for it.
Actually there are some statements in your post that are a bit overgeneralized? At least on Ryan Seacrest station in LA his song Seven was getting pretty decent radio play, of course BTS Butter and Dynamite got played on the radio, etc.
@@sc33h3o3 Yes, it's generalized because it's a 4 sentence UA-cam post. I'm not about to write a whole essay and pull up actual statistics. Also, the term "Western Media" refers to a lot more than LA or the United States. I did not say that BTS songs were never played ever on the radio. But I summed up the situation that they are drastically underplayed compared to other Western artists with similar or even smaller fanbases even when there is a very real demand for BTS as a group and as solo artists. The fact is they are not well represented in the media and, while a few of their songs have gotten a bit more radio play than others, the sad truth remains that the majority of their very large discography (400+ songs) have see very little to no airplay at all.
@@cathonbonbon9430 i was just concerned about accuracy on behalf of educating newbie :) refuse to play is often still the case unfortunately, but there has been some airplay/exceptions.
55 year old RMY here, I appreciate how much you see the hard work and talent. He has a stellar voice. And yes, his dancing is sexy. She would love the whole album Golden. It jumps around in musical time periods, which was his intention. It also tells the story of a relationship from start to end. His album was done with all Western producers and writers. Watt and Cirkut, Major Lazer, Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes. All in English, even though he is NOT fluent(you would never know) Listen to his ballads, I recommend Still With You. His voice is outstanding. There is a reason for his being the lead singer for BTS. Seven is still in the charts and was number 1 for a long time as was Standing Next To You and 3D. What the fan base has been complaining about is not getting played on the radio, with music that is superior to some of the pop nowadays. I agree this is like how music used to be and is amazing. Do yourselves the favour and watch the original mv for Standing Next to You, MJ would have been proud. It is legendary. And Shawn Stockman covered a BTS song. You do not have enough info, BTS started as a Hip Hop group. 3D was remixed with Justin Timberlake and SNTY was remixed with Usher. And lastly those backup dancers are incredibly famous dancers/choreographers . Brian Puspos and Ian Eastwood. And no tattoos are not highly accepted in Korea, Jungkook has had a lot to do with making them more acceptable. He is known for having the most stable voice while singing live. So yes to what you are thinking about "masky" it's about holding his core. He is a performer!!!! KPop is all pop music from South Korea. 😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻
He's 26 years old and is 1.79cm tall. Also, he doesnt try to be anyone but himself, his style is unique, he has perfect pitch, he's part of BTS's dance line (which means he's one of the best dancers in the group, and BTS are one of the best dancers), can rap, write, compose, produce, direct, etc., he's a global superstar in every aspect. Rolling Stone named him one of the 200 greatest singers of all time, he's the only Korean male singer on the list and there are only 2 Korean artists on the list (the other one is a female singer called IU), TIME named him (and BTS in general) the Princes of Global Pop, he is part of the largest group in the world, he is the main vocalist, the center of the group, etc., Jungkook is the most successful Korean (and Asian) solo act in the world, many artists (including great artists) have collaborated with him, and even before his solo debut, and FIFA itself begged for Jungkook to sing at the opening ceremony at the 2022 World Cup (the song is called Dreamers) this also before his solo debut... Even with all this, he keep learning new vocal techniques to continue improving in every vocal aspect.. Jungkook can sing any type of genre bc he has the ability to adapt his voice to the atmosphere of the song, for example, you already heard Standing Next To You which is an upbeat and hard song, so maybe now you can listen to Still With You which is a calm song, or BTS's previous songs like their debut song, No More Dream, where he sings and also raps. He also received the nicknames/titles 'Golden Voice' for obvious reasons, 'Golden Maknae' (means the golden youngest) bc he is the youngest of the group and is good at everything (literally), even what he doesn't know he learns it right away and he does it well, etc. His nicknames are one of the reasons why he named his debut album GOLDEN. Jungkook is the MAIN POP BOY, the GIANT GLOBAL POP STAR.
Hi there I'm a 61y/o BTS Army and I appreciate your review of Jung Kook's live concert which was announced 30 mins before the show. He is the youngest member of BTS at 26 and he is a global pop star from South Korea. He shouted "Pomichodai" to the BTS Armys which means "Slay" in Korean. All his back up dancers are well known choreographers not just plain dancers. All his tracks in his new album "Golden" are in English and composed and written by, American songwriters including Shawn Mendez, Ed Sheeran, DJ Snake. English is not Jung Kook's first language but he really trained well to pronounce the words correctly. And lastly Jung Kook is a very sweet, kind and well mannered man even if his songs are suggestive. He's the total package, good voice, perfect pitch, good dancer, handsome. Thanks for checking JK's live performance.
I agree. I'll be 72 soon, and BTS, JK, V, Suga, Jimin, JHope, RM and Jin, collectively and individually, give me so much joy. You will even be more amazed if you track their growth, hard work, and dedication for the past 10 years! And they have immense intelligence and great values, too!
I don't know where to start. He has been performing for 10 years as the main vocalist of BTS. They all practice singing on treadmills. Their stadium shows are about 3 hours of full on dancing and singing. He is 26. He has some ballad songs on internet. He did a cover of Harry sTyles FALLING that is unbelievable. He also does a lot Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars covers. He can sing anything and adjusts to the song's color. He is one of those people who can mimic other people. He has always mimicked the other BTS members vocally and physically. He even mimics animals. He is the youngest of seven group members and they thought everything he did was funny and cute. All seven are incredibly talented on their own, but Jungkook jokes that since they raised him, he is a mixture of all six older members, and he may be.
Coming from a small company in the big world of kpop, it's their authenticity that first touched the audiences and they managed to garner millions of fans organically. You have so much to discover about BTS, they're so different from the rest of the kpop industry and paved the way for their peers in so many ways. (btw, for me kpop is just an industry, not a genre or a sound. Most of what you'll hear is inspired by Black american pop and hiphop pioneers)
Jungkook is known to have the most stable vocals of BTS. HE SANG the guides in the begining. Can maintain his vocals whilst dancing. All 4 vocal line of BTS have great very individual voices but they recognise JK as their lead vocalist. If any members are ill he can sing their parts, harmonise and is great at ad libs to support them.. All 7 members of BTS write compose and produce. But JK was enjoying his break until he realised he did not have to write the songs so went through a selecting processes. He said he cut the album very quickly. A track day in roughly 3-4 hours. A little clean up the next day.
Its a great reaction . But please , you havent even seen half of what Jungkook can do vocally . He is an incredible vocalist.Oh and since you mentioned Justin Timberlake and Usher .He did a remix of 3D with Justin Timberlake. And a remix of Standind Next to you with Usher . You should definitely check out the perfomance video with usher its awesome
Grr now I'm frustrated. Jungkook has perfect pitch. He is an amazing singer. He is big in Canada and the US at the top of the charts. I am also not 17. I am 39. This whole thing just frustrates me.
Please tell your friend that she does not need to be 18 to enjoy this music, nor do you need to like boybands (I never have), to like Jung Kook (or his band, BTS). I am 57 and have been ARMY for nearly 4 years. ARMY-conducted demographic studies have shown that 50% of ARMYs are 18+ and at least 17%+ are 40+. We older fans call ourselves “Dope Old ARMY” - RM (the leader of BTS) coined the term and we love it. Jung Kook also isn’t Chinese. He’s South Korean. The shortest member of BTS is 5’9” and the tallest is 6’. Justin Timberlake actually did a remix of 3D with JK, and JK especially has always wanted to be a pop star. He wants to be the only artist who is both a K-pop and pop star - the only one who can cross over between them. He is heavily influenced by Justin Bieber, JT, Usher, MJ, and many other great Western pop artists. Ed Sheeran was a writer on “Yes or No.” Shawn Mendes was a writer on another song on this album - “Hate You.” JK didn’t write any of these songs. He said that he just didn’t have anything that he wanted to say. BUT he did help curate the songs for the album, and he was deeply involved with every facet of it otherwise. He does write, though - produces and composes. I recommend “Still With You” and “Magic Shop” as songs he helped write. His name is pronounced closer to Chung gook (with a softer sound than our “ch” sound), just FYI. K-pop is an industry, not a genre. It is actually made up of all the usual musical genres. But Western pop industry folks still call GOLDEN K-pop, even though literally the only thing Korean about the entire album is the nationality of the singer. Also, BTS has grown well beyond K-pop. All the other bands you mentioned are K-pop, though.
26:54 JK said "New York City, Pomichida" (포미치다) = slay/lets slay (loosely translated) also Jungkook is Korean not chinese, 26yrs not 29 and 5'10" so ...not so short. didnt think i was going to like your reaction in the beginning but I warmed to you after a bit & really enjoyed your reaction, hope to see you react to more of ourGolden Maknae 'Jungkook' 정국 & 'BTS' 방탄소년단
48-year-old fan from Norway here, JK is an amazing artist, he's the producer's dream - delivering the same perfect performance every time, delivering EXACTLY what you ask for, including 4-5 layers of harmonies. He's known as the "golden maknae" - i.e. the "golden junior". :) As for how "big" he is in the US - the first song you heard debuted at nr. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November, making it his 3rd top 10 hit... The album it's from, Golden, debuted at nr. 2 on Billboard 200. BTS as a group has had 6 songs reach nr. 1 on the Billboard charts, and holds a Guiness world record for being the most-streamed group of all time on Spotify. (The 6 songs in nr.1 in a decade outranks Drake, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber etc. ;) ) They've broken various records held since Beatles and Michael Jackson. :)
Jungkook is the artist who can perfectly put emotions in the songs he sings. He is just so talented and can sing all the songs in his album anytime, anywhere...no problem. Unlike other singers who can just do studio versions but don't give their own songs justice when singing live. You should watch his Weverse live when he sang the songs from his album live while sitting down in his home. His raw vocals are just effortlessly beautiful.
I loved this pop up concert, his first solo album had been released just 6 days before . He loves pop and Golden explores eras and genres of pop music. Jungkook sings often to us on livestreams, he is very versatile . For more laid back perfs : He did a beautiful cover of Let There Be Love for BBC radio 1 lounge, it's on Bangtan TV channel, he has beautiful ballads on his album Golden, Hate You live on iheart radio, also on Bangtan TV . Here he sings acapella a song he co wrote and co produced, JUNGKOOK SINGING “STILL WITH YOU” | JK V-LIVE. [230202] 정국JUNGKOOK - Airbag here he covers a song, from his couch, i fell in love with it Oh and thiiiis JUNGKOOK singing "To Find You" Sing Street [Weverse Live 28.02.2023] He did a cover of Falling ,on Bangtan TV channel. I don't know if he ever did belting ballads Oo. He can belt, Im so hoping for a rock album one day 😉 BTW the fans are 7 to 97 years old. :)
I love JJ & Zhou Shen for their excellent vocals and BTS for their topnotch showmanship - singing, rapping n dancing :) They represent what peak level singers and performers should be to me. For a more ballad-like song by JK, try Still With You (written by himself).
I think an actual vocal performance with him standing or hardly moving like the Iheart Performances gives you his vocals so much clearer. Thanks for this reaction
He said "Pomichodai" which means Slay in Korean, apparently. His fans know it coz he was teaching Korean to his fans during a stationhead listening party.
Jungkook is not just an awesome singer, he is a very powerful dancer. An all -around incredible performer. Handsome, charismatic, beautiful human in and out. People love him so much. He is good in everything, an enigma, a superstar. He will become bigger!
Some notable things to point out JUNGKOOK IS 26yrsold JUNGKOOK IS 5'10 ft height JUNGKOOK IS ACCLAIMED as one of the BEST SINGERS of ROLLING STONE mag with perfect pitch *PLS WATCH LIVE IN LOUNGE HE SINGS 'LET THERE BE LOVE' a ballad one
At this point, people, especially these vocal coaches, are unware of amazing artists across the world, its kinda their fault. It's more like an inability to tuned for different kinds of music. Its obvious BTS name is heard here and there . People and singers definitely heard of them as well and know they are popular, but its a shame they never found themselves out why. She mentioned some artists , they are good, yes, but the reason she was aware of them because they easily became mainstream by radio play and with other means, and of course, they are Western artists on top of that. When its radioplay general audience make it a hit regardless of how low standard the music might be its mostly because people get used it even they might not like it in the beginning, they just gonna accept it is a hit after listening a hundred times at a industry planted spotify top charts and ofcourse radio play. This way, these vocal coaches and normal people label them as big sensation. Meanwhile someone like BTS and jungkook who don't always go for radio play not much as these western pop stars , sometimes they don't at all , they ultimately top charts regardless and yes jungkook is billboard #1 singer before this newyork times square performance and was still in top 100 and top 10 during that time, its a shame she has no idea about that and manage to say jungkook might be lesser popular than belle and others. Yes, it's nice to compare him as the korean version of shawn , Usher, and justin timberlake . Just because of a lack of knowledge, she couldn't just say he is Jungkook who can easily par with them because this is the first seeing jungkook. I'm not complaining, but its kinda sad. Also, she wanted such performance for a Western artist but couldn't entirely accept what jungkook as to offer. So, in conclusion, vocal coaches or singers.. its basic minimum to know about amazing artists across the globe regardless of language also accept the music and artistry as it is without wanting that for own artists. We can understand that general listeners wouldn't give a damn about such things, but when it comes to vocal coaches its just arrogance and lack of awareness at music scene which ultimately says about their music knowledge.I still appreciate her reaction but her being a vocal coach and not knowing about jungkook or BTS which is the biggest boy band in the planet right now who are in the industry over 10 years is kinda triggering to some but i hope she someday understand the magnitude of BTS , jungkook, kpop or any other non Western artists as well. It's not suggestive to compare such talented people without even knowing their work, you can always listen to other jungkook works which might not be typical pop like his English golden album, also yes jungkook's GOLDEN is not entirely kpop album , it is produced composed and written by western producers from states ofcourse. at the end Jungkook is amazing, and jungkook is jungkook no one else, he is already established his tone ,his image , his style and his work in producing, writing and composing as well. he is extremely successful and big around the globe.
Am I the only one not seeing the borderline problematic comments and pre-conceived notions on this reaction? It's good that you liked his voice and skill, but the some comments didn't sit right with me... One thing to keep in mind is BTS don't really fit into the standard kpop. There's a whole world to explore with BTS and its members, and where they sit when in comes to the "kpop industry". The majority of BTS fans are actually a lot older than you think, a very large percentage actually. It's fair that you don't know a lot of facts about them for now, but I strongly advise whoever is on the sides and the reactor to actually look more into BTS and its history, because I see a lot of negative pre conceived notions.
Her attitude was insulting before he even sang one verse. Whoever suggested she react to Jungkook should have informed her that he is popular worldwide and, by the way, has millions of fans supporting him. If she bothers to read the comments, she will be throughly educated and hopefully be embarrassed that she was so insulting to him, his fans, and many Asians.
This woman reminds me of a football fan who lives in the past and admires Pele and Maradona and does not want to accept Ronaldo and Messi, even though they have long surpassed them, The world does not stand still , new records appear for a reason, new stars appear who surpass the past . And what she calls the stars that JungKook has already surpassed in popularity , but she doesn't know him , she threw a stone into her garden as a musician . My father has no idea who BTS , Billie Eilish , Taylor Swift are, he's just a football fan, but even he knows who JungKook is, just because JungKook opened the World Cup !
Jungkook’s solo song “Seven (feat Latto)” released July 14, 2023, simultaneously debuts at #1 on Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl US. I read only a handful of singers including singers from the West have achieved this success. Seven was produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut who co-wrote with Jon Bellion, Latto and Theron Manuel Thomas. They had the song Seven for a year. Andrew Watt said it would be a hit if Jungkook sings it. It was offered to JK who accepted the offer. I think Jungkook is the first Asian to perform at the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. He sang and dance the song Dreamers at the opening ceremony. The mv of Dreamers by FIFA has over 200 million views.
In the spirit of being civil I'll just ask you to please read what my fellow commenters have written. I'm a 69 yr old fan of BTS along with many other artists and genres over the decades. They are outstanding and deserve respect.
If u want his slow song then listen to still with u. He self wrote and self produce this song as a gift to his fans called army. There is also an acapella version of that song. Also his other songs are euphoria, stay alive, dreamers(fifa world cup soundtrack),left and right with charlie puth, too much with kid laroi and centrel cee,my you etc. He recently released english album named golden consisting of 10 songs out of which 5 he sang here. Also his age is 26,height 5 ft 10 inches and he is the main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper and center of the group bts.
Thoughts while watching from a 61 year old ARMY. ARMY for about 8 years: John Stockman, of Bozs II Men, went to a BTS concert and said it was one of the best concerts he attended in his lifetime. He also said he had been to many, many concerts. I know you will be told, JK is not Chinese but Korean. I wonder if you would be impressed with how quickly JK recorded this album and learned these intricate dance routines. No, tattoos are not more acceptable in Korea but JK can do what he wants. LOL.😂 Justin Timberlake did a remix of one of the songs on this album. Usher was also featured and did a music video on one of these songs. On what makes an artist big, technicality, etc. you should really learn about the journey of BTS. Another aspect of the dedication from their fans is tied to the men themselves. BTS are very humble, hardworking, open, and connected to their fans.
I think you might actually like a quite special clip of Jungkook as you mentioned that you think the best singers combine technical skills and uniqueness. There is a 15-minute clip titled "[슈취타] Jung Kook Noraebang Clip". Jungkook sings karaoke songs here (noraebang on Korean) while eating BBQ... This was recorded after a talkshow he did (with his bandmade SUGA) where they had drinks and food together, and he stayed on after the shoot was finished because he wanted to sing a bit more and he also couldn't resist the food. I think this will give you some idea of why the fans love him so much.
Since she's a huge Boyz II Men fan, she might find it interesting that Shawn Stockman is a fan of BTS and went to their concert at the Rose Bowl in 2019 and said it was one of the best concerts he had been to. He has covered fellow BTS members Jimin's song "Serendipity" from the BTS album Love Yourself: Answer.
You don’t have to be a teenager to enjoy JK or BTS :) I’m in my 40s, and there are a lot of us my age and older. Good music and talent transcends age; no limit!! Would love to see you react to more of their music.
A big draw to the music that a majority of fans will agree with -- is that this is *Jungkook*. He himself as a person and artist has gathered so many fans who watched him and his group explode from nobodies to legends, and we are entering these songs with that history and all the inside jokes and nuances. We have seen his writing ability, his vocal ability, his directing ability, his sincerity. He throws his entire being into his performances to give his all for his fans. There were so many times in the past he would collapse after performances because he wouldn't slow down (no matter how much the staff and the other members told him to pace himself). Honestly, personally, I'm not a fan of 3D or Seven. I feel that he simplified his sound a bit for Western audiences. But I LOVE Standing Next to You, and SO much of what he's done in Korean that I am always a fan. After 10 years he has SO much work out there, mostly within BTS, but he is their main vocalist so you'll find him in pretty much every song that isn't straight rap.
OMG, u don't even know he is a Korean, but NOT a Chinese?! PLS do a bit of research before doing reaction video, be respectful. BTS is a global group and Jungkook is the main vocalist, he is 26 and 5'10". And, I aint 18, I am 50-year-old.
To me, they clearly know that he is Korean. I think they are comparing to Chinese singers because the hosts are of Chinese ethnicity so that’s their point of reference. JJ Lin is a mandopop singer from Singapore and that’s who they are comparing JK to. And JJ is more known for ballads so it’s a very different genre.
The golden standard of live performances is right! Jung Kook and other members of BTS, as well as they all as a group, usually perform like this, singing live over vocal backing track, and they're all amazing at it, though Jung Kook is known for his stable voice while dancing.
I have no idea how she can call herself a global music ANYTHING when she doesn’t even know who BTS is - literally the biggest group on the planet- collabs with major western artists, winners of major western awards, Grammy nominated 5 times, best selling artist in the world 2 years in a row beating out the likes of Adele, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran… and she doesn’t know a thing about them??? It’s also very frustrating to watch these reviews when the people off camera also don’t know much about the artist. What the two people off camera were saying wasn’t correct and they made it seem like BTS or Jungkook is for 18 year olds… hi I’m 40 and have been a fan for 7 years.
I was shocked that u said u didn't know Jungkook nor BTS. Out of curiosity, I checked your channel and saw that u actually reacted to a lot of Chinese songs. I can assure you that Jungkook and BTS are a LOT bigger than those singers across the international level. I know because I am a Chinese too. And, I wish u could be more respectful to the singer, don't mute the performance nor interrupting every minute.
If you have watched a bunch of their videos, you will realise she interrupted a lot less in this one. I think she really enjoyed Jung’s performance and can’t help but watched and shut up. Yes, agree with you it’s a bit disrespectful if not annoying to pause the singing
Radio stations don't play their music because Hybe does not pay the relationship DJ's don't play it. The internet is where it is played. His songs have over 4 Billion streams for just 4 songs
Standing Next to You pays very intentional homage to Michael Jackson, especially in the choreography. The song you said sounds like it should be/was inspired by Usher is Yes or No and was written by Ed Sheeran. Hate you, which is another of his songs, was written by Shawn Mendez. These are both just b-sides. The songs Seven, 3-D and Standing Next to you have been breaking all the records over the last 6 months or so. If you actually work in the popular music industry you should have heard them by now. Usher did a remix of Standing Next to You that he is also putting on his own upcoming album. What JK's height has to do with anything I have no idea. He's 26 and the youngest of BTS. All of BTS have produced solo work over the past year before enlisting in mandatory military service in South Korea. They have shown their diversity in music by producing very different sounding, but all equally amazing projects. 52 year old ARMY. We are not all teenagers.
I am 52 years old Army from Bulgaria. I'm sure if you listen and watch BTS and their solo projects, you'll go down the rabbit hole and become an Army yourself
wow the comparisons to the western artists, the almost generalisation to borderline xenophobic racist stuff? being said in this video like all of this because he is not some random western dude who fits in your typical toxic masculine genre and does stuff which most of the western artists can't do like dancing and singing at the same which not to mention being stable while singing!!!! great reaction ig lol
Even in Korea, it is forbidden to show tattoos on television Asians are generally tall, not short The tallest people are Koreans among Asians Jungkook's songs in his album called Golden are all in English Jungkook's age is 26
Jungkook is 26 years old, he was born September 1st 1997, he's the main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper & center of bts, he's also the youngest in the group 😍💞
Jungkook like BTS are big but i think i understand what you mean. bts and jungkook are fan driven but they have very little radio promotion which doesnt make it the music people hear around. they get the sales and the streams but you dont hear them on radio and they get excluded from a lot of industry things because they are foreigners and they don't really participate to the industry so the industry can't profit off them and so it excludes them
Jungkook can really sing you should do more reactions to his singing. He is listed as one of the 200 all time best singers from Rolling Stones magazine.
Hi there! I’m a 42 y/o ARMY (fan of BTS) Thanks for this vid reacting to JK at Times Square. So, JK is considered a perfect pitch singer and the main vocalist of the grp. And BTS has so many diff genre and they’re not just known in US and Canada but Europe, Africa, and all other continents too. Their songs can and always reach #1 on ITunes on 100 and plus countries. Oh and this full album of JK is all in English and produced and written by people who’s behind artist such as Ariana grande and Justin B and many more. But if you want to watch the grp BTS in a tiny desk setting then you’re lucky cos they have one. Here’s the link 👇 ua-cam.com/video/gFYAXsa7pe8/v-deo.htmlsi=e_5AtNlbwZuUKrYC
I have no idea who jj is. Jungkook's vocals are so great that I love listening to him even without visuals, when I drive, when I walk, and when I work.
Thank you for reacting to Jungkook. I enjoyed your reaction. I get what your saying about how you wish you would come across this kind of music in the west. Because of the quality of it. Firstly BTS and Bighit (Hybe) have a very high quality standard. The music (almost all (co)written by the BTS members themselves), the production, the music videos and the performances are always at the highest quality. There are very few artists in the west who can do the same. About why we in the west (I’m from the Netherlands, 49 yo) don’t hear it so much is because BTS didn’t follow the normal path in the music industry. And the music industry doesn’t like that. They don’t make money of BTS. So they are not promoted as much. Most fans in the west have found them via internet. But because BTS is so talented and genuine and genuinely love their fans (called Army), we tend to stay with them and keep following them. All seven of them. 💜💜💜
JK is a vocal chameleon. He can do a million things. He just always dreamed of being a global pop star so this album is in English and heavily past pop star inspired.
Same!!! So much wrong in this reaction video. If you are going to invite a reactor then the host of the reaction video should at least be able to speak on the basics of the group and their background.
I am surprised how she fit all that prejudice in her😂 Like implying that its just for teens music Global= to us and canada somewhat Not popular because she have not seen it ( makes me wonder how bad is she at her job) because he was in billboard top 10 for a while and bts even more china /korea thing Have dancer friends but did not know who brian purpos is even though she said he is cute so she did notice him. it was ignorant af😂 almost like comedy skit 😅
When she said that she would know him if he is global 😒 It was uncomfortable to watch. The reaction was full of prejudice and misinformation. Hope she and her team research a little bit before making a reaction.
More like to feel less weird and old to like him or feel attracted to him. Jk is my bias and I find him very attractive, but at the beginning felt a bit weird, because he is so young 😂
The songs JK performed here are from his solo album GOLDEN which are produced/written by western artists/producer, it is poppy and leaned towards western listeners, and the songs do not feature his greatest vocal but they topped not only the US charts but world charts too. Jungkook has perfect pitch and has showcased his vocal talents in his other past songs too. Here are some BTS/Jungkook live performances if you wish to listen to more "vocally" songs without dancing: Tiny Desk: ua-cam.com/video/gFYAXsa7pe8/v-deo.html BTS Room Live: ua-cam.com/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/v-deo.html I'll Be Missing You (Live Lounge): ua-cam.com/video/EN5Ga6OMwhA/v-deo.html Let There Be Love (Live Lounge): ua-cam.com/video/sOvbUR2jYuY/v-deo.html Life Goes On (MTV Unplugged): ua-cam.com/video/jFd1hhqX-0U/v-deo.html Who (live): ua-cam.com/video/HsMUpnpGkys/v-deo.html Zero O'Clock (Live): ua-cam.com/video/36xFtFO38LU/v-deo.html Still With You (Live): ua-cam.com/video/OsP5FF47gQk/v-deo.html Euphoria (Live): ua-cam.com/video/L-5TLrZvt_o/v-deo.html Your Eyes Tell (Live): ua-cam.com/video/YAXDiCL5v1c/v-deo.html BTS write and produce most of their songs but they also collabbed with western artists as early as 2018 or maybe earlier -- Coldplay, Steve Aoki, Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Chainsmokers, Becky G, Charli XCX, Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendez, Honne, Lauv, Wale and many more!
So I watched your reaction & while you had good things to say, you kept comparing JK to Western artists. He & BTS are as popular if not more so than some of the artists you compared him to. Also, ARMY isn’t 17 year olds. I am a 56 year old professional from the Midwest US. People know good music & BTS makes good music. Please open your mind & stop trying to label, and compare. Listen to him & his group without prejudice
Exactly! If you ask the numbers they are ruling the world already, but it doesnt show bc media and charts are based on payola and all kinds of fraud that BTS simply don't participate in...
I think you mean Rolling Stone Magazine. Rolling Stones are a rock band.
@@alicesworld1 yes you’re right. It’s a typo 👍🏼

THIS.
@@laurahilliker5336 it's so ironic that other Kpop groups accuse BTS of payola too lol... it's all rooted in xenophobia unfortunately. :(
this!! he is doing it now, in the west! she knows he's good but wishes someone from the west sings it. *shake head*
I think Namjoon is 6ft tall. And some of the members of TXT are even taller than BTS, as we know from that infamous photoshoot! 😂😂
@@djlivvy46yes😅
just as a note: they specifically cast and look for tall guys, e.g. I’ve heard from one trainee how they were made to drink a liter of milk each day so they would grow taller. Just saying, the height of K-idols is not the average height of Koreans. Same goes for K-actors.
@@MrEQuecky they could have joked about milk
@@JackInTheBox0294 Milk is something many people drink because it contains calicuim for good strong bones and teeth also for the protein which is very much required for strong muscles which is needed for dancers.
Truth 💜
I'm sorry, if you judge what is kpop by this standard, most songs by kpop artists are not kpop. Most kpop groups use songs from writers, producers from all over the world. Even the choreographies and music videos are often made by western artists. So what really defines kpop if really the production is a global enterprise?
i can’t understand why people is always trying to compare him with someone else, he is just jungkook with his own style and that’s it
Thank you!! I was thinking the same! 💜
Right, it's frustating, i hate it
And also i don't understand why compare him to other about something like singing very good, when you don't know him because this is just his first album like solist where he wanted to show new aspects about him but, this doesn't show all his capacity, talents and everything he has done in the past so before tell what you imagine and judging just take all the right information.
@@Giada1218 fr i don’t understand why they expect him to be like someone else, it makes me so mad

I'm 85 and have heard and been a fan of all the groups she mentioned, plus more. BTS is the best right now. Fun fact: All the BTS members are fans, are inspired by, and have done collaborations with many big artists. Jungkook is the main vocalist and has perfect pitch. All the dancers are famous choreographers who have worked with BTS, friends, and great dancers.

Полностью согласна, спасибо за твой комментарий!!! ❤❤❤
Kudos to knowing a 85 yr old BTS fan. Did you see JK’s BEGIN live performance when he was 19 yrs old?
Thank you for your comment
@Tiffany91200, I believe that IDA S did a 2023 update on Jungkook’s informational guide to everything that’s Jungkook!😊💜
The iHeart stage, especially ’Hate You’ although I love how he altered his tone with the ‘Standing Next To You’ performance to fit the live band, too.
Yes!!! FILM OUT live!!!!!!! With BTS!!! Euphoria!!!!
If she wants to know what is BTS or how good BTS are (in short cut) then She should watch "2021 BTS festa room live" (and there are tiny desk concerts also) it's short but Strong answer to her, i think she should definitely check that out
Edit: she compared to so many people's here but i want to say she should definitely watch "2019 MAMA AWARD FULL LIVE PERFORMANCE "it's incomparable . I'm sure she can't compare it with anyone
@@brookesobubbly"begin", "stay alive", "my time", "your eyes tell", "magic shop" too
Stop saying he is the Asian Version of other artist ...
He is an amazing singer/ performer who happens to be Asian. He is himself and doesn't need to be compared to other artist.
Louder bestie!!!!!
exactly!!
the continuous comparison is literally putting us off
Two of those dancers are actually famous choreographers. Can Americans have a conversation about Asian entertainers without commenting on their height? Also, did you say JK wants to be JT? Are You that clueless? This is embarrassing.
BTS are tall but in this case Jungkook chose the dancers because they are famous choreographers not based on their hight
exacto son coreagrafos muy populares por cierto
He is a fan of those dancers.
Exactly it's about the skill
Jungkook just turned 26 yrs old on Sept 1st. This performance is from Nov 6th, 2023. He has been doing this for the last 10 yrs. So he is a pro, and one of the most humble superstars out there. That's why so many millions stan him. And he is drop dead gorgeous. What more can you ask for. Btw, his debut single hit #1 on all 3 Billboard charts. And the next 2 were top 5. I feel he will only get bigger once he is back from the military! I totally loved your reaction, btw. Do suggest you watch his iheart live performance of SNTY.
❤
❤
I agree with this. And he keeps on comparing Jungkook to J.J. Who is J.J.? Haven't heard this name? Did he top the billboard?
I agree
Yes who is JJ?
Who is this reactor?
@@D_Conspiracy JJ Lin a Singaporean singer.

Can we just appreciate HIS TALENT
The comparison while sometimes fun, we forget he’s been in this industry 10years.
He is his own artist, that’s been inspired by many other great artists.
He’s not the Asian Shaun mendes or Korean JT.
He’s JK
He’s uplifted people across the world brought joy to many.

I truly love how k-pop (especially BTS) found a place in a heart of a fan regarding age, ethnicity and individual!!
Show her "Your Eyes Tell". He's not trying to be anybody, but himself. JT did a remix of 3D and Usher did a remix of "Standing Next to You".
Imo, she needs to watch the iHeart performances, especially ‘Hate You.’
@@00justsayin00 This performance of Hate You makes my ugly cry.
@@X5J2UY He is unique because he doesn't copy anyone. The artist he admire is just an inspiration!
jungkook is very captivating even when he is just doing karaoke for fun during live streams at his home, there's also more than enough videos of him singing without any background music etc
Yes😊
Btw, this was a surprise concert, just announced 30 min before it started! He is a global phenomenon!! These songs are from his album Golden which was released on Nov 3rd and this concert was on Nov 9th!! It blows me away that his fans are singing along word for word to songs that were released just 6 days prior! He has some dedicated fans for sure. ❤❤
YESSS!! AND THERE WAS OVER 10K PPL IN THE CROWD AND THAT’S WITH JUST A 30MIN HEADS UP
Hi I'm a BTS ARMY from California, and I'm 57 years old.
I might be a little biased 😉
I get that you are trying to compare JK to Western artists, because that is what you know.
I hope she read this
I don’t think I like this reaction, didn’t seem like a reaction but criticism.
Thank you so much for this comment 💜
I am glad I read this comment because I could not sit through this lady's blatant racism and that Starbucks cup in my face LOL
I felt the very same. It was so hard to listen to the assumptions. My only hope is that they all take the time to get educated.
12 min in and I was about to stop watching but ill stay a little longer and see the appreciation.
❤
Jung Kook is definitely the whole package. I'm definitely looking forward to listening more from him after he comes back from the military
All in English, even though he is NOT fluent(you would never know)
Listen to his ballads, I recommend Still With You.
😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻
Danke
😊
Well I´m 62 and BTS Fan! You don´t need to be 17 to love them!
👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
Thank you 😊
He is 26 years old. I love him so much 💜💜💜🥲(One of his fans since 2016).
His live performances are always top notche
Not many artists can say they’re popular fully globally (rather than just western popular) but jung kook and BTS definitely are!!
💜👍💜
100% agree
❤
Its a great reaction . But please , you havent even seen half of what Jungkook can do vocally . He is an incredible vocalist.Oh and since you mentioned Justin Timberlake and Usher .He did a remix of 3D with Justin Timberlake. And a remix of Standind Next to you with Usher . You should definitely check out the perfomance video with usher its awesome
React on jungkook's "still with you" written and produced jungkook himself
Jungkook ( I will focus here more on Jk since the video is about him and you havent seen the other members yet..
He is the main vocalist not lead vocalist correct that
Thank you😊
Grr now I'm frustrated. Jungkook has perfect pitch. He is an amazing singer. He is big in Canada and the US at the top of the charts. I am also not 17. I am 39. This whole thing just frustrates me.
I am with you. I was so bothered watching this reaction video.
Ed Sheeran was a writer on “Yes or No.” Shawn Mendes was a writer on another song on this album - “Hate You.”
JK didn’t write any of these songs.
JK took stage in FIFA world cup opening ceremony take a look at that also
26:54 JK said "New York City, Pomichida" (포미치다) = slay/lets slay (loosely translated) also Jungkook is Korean not chinese, 26yrs not 29 and 5'10" so ...not so short. didnt think i was going to like your reaction in the beginning but I warmed to you after a bit & really enjoyed your reaction, hope to see you react to more of ourGolden Maknae 'Jungkook' 정국 & 'BTS' 방탄소년단

@@sc33h3o3😊 He taught ARMYS "Pomichidaaa!" On one of his live streams a few months back 📒📖 " Learn Korean101 with Jungkook, lesson number ☆136" 😝💜
48-year-old fan from Norway here, JK is an amazing artist, he's the producer's dream - delivering the same perfect performance every time, delivering EXACTLY what you ask for, including 4-5 layers of harmonies. He's known as the "golden maknae" - i.e. the "golden junior". :)
As for how "big" he is in the US - the first song you heard debuted at nr.
(The 6 songs in nr.1 in a decade outranks Drake, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber etc. ;) )
They've broken various records held since Beatles and Michael Jackson. :)

Thank you ❤
Jungkook is the artist who can perfectly put emotions in the songs he sings.

Exactly I feel the same as well.
Her attitude was insulting before he even sang one verse.
Whoever suggested she react to Jungkook should have informed her that he is
popular worldwide and, by the way, has millions of fans supporting him.
If she bothers to read the comments, she will be throughly educated and hopefully be embarrassed that she was so insulting to him, his fans, and many Asians.
maybe there could be enough prior research to at least know his nationality, chinese and korean people are not the same
Exactly!!
His dancer are all famous dancer/choreographers
Too many assumptions and typical prejudices.
Yeah yeah it is clear that this is prejudice and assumptions. Underestimating and even more...I agree.
I hope you can check his IHeart Radio Live singing Hate You. Its a ballad.
He actually collab with Justin Timberlake on a 3D remix and Usher on Standing Next to you remix! just nice that you mentioned both JT and Usher LOL
ARMY for about 8 years:
John Stockman, of Bozs II Men, went to a BTS concert and said it was one of the best concerts he attended in his lifetime. He also said he had been to many, many concerts.
I know you will be told, JK is not Chinese but Korean. I wonder if you would be impressed with how quickly JK recorded this album and learned these intricate dance routines.
No, tattoos are not more acceptable in Korea but JK can do what he wants. LOL.😂
Justin Timberlake did a remix of one of the songs on this album. Usher was also featured and did a music video on one of these songs.
On what makes an artist big, technicality, etc. you should really learn about the journey of BTS. Another aspect of the dedication from their fans is tied to the men themselves. BTS are very humble, hardworking, open, and connected to their fans.
He has just gotten listed to have 4.5 BILLION streams on this album, Golden. He’s much bigger than you think!
"Euphoria" is a solo song he does very little dancing to. In concerts he was flying - literally - so fun to watch.
She need to watch Jungkook the main vocalist of BTS by Ida s
Since she's a huge Boyz II Men fan, she might find it interesting that Shawn Stockman is a fan of BTS and went to their concert at the Rose Bowl in 2019 and said it was one of the best concerts he had been to. He has covered fellow BTS members Jimin's song "Serendipity" from the BTS album Love Yourself: Answer.
You don’t have to be a teenager to enjoy JK or BTS :) I’m in my 40s, and there are a lot of us my age and older. Good music and talent transcends age; no limit!! Would love to see you react to more of their music.
❤
Agree… thought they would do minimal research… unfortunate…
I think she is just jealous 😂😂
Мне 50 и я тоже являюсь фанатом JK. Это их заблуждение считать, что фанаты БТС 15-летние девочки....
❤❤❤
If you have watched a bunch of their videos, you will realise she interrupted a lot less in this one. I think she really enjoyed Jung’s performance and can’t help but watched and shut up. Yes, agree with you it’s a bit disrespectful if not annoying to pause the singing
I do prefer that she pause it if she's going to talk
💜💜🥰
No he's not 29, he is just 26 years old, fyi.... born 1997
wow the comparisons to the western artists, the almost generalisation to borderline xenophobic racist stuff? being said in this video like all of this because he is not some random western dude who fits in your typical toxic masculine genre and does stuff which most of the western artists can't do like dancing and singing at the same which not to mention being stable while singing!!!! great reaction ig lol
Even in Korea, it is forbidden to show tattoos on television
Asians are generally tall, not short
The tallest people are Koreans among Asians
Jungkook's songs in his album called Golden are all in English
Jungkook's age is 26
Jungkook is 26 years old, he was born September 1st 1997, he's the main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper & center of bts, he's also the youngest in the group 😍💞
😊

Boyz 2 Men LOVE BTS btw. The problem is that the West classifies EVERYTHING Korean as Kpop, which is reductive.
I have no idea who jj is.
Jungkook's vocals are so great that I love listening to him even without visuals, when I drive, when I walk, and when I work.
JJ is Singapore singer 林俊傑
You said it well This should be the “GOLD STANDARD” Jungkook is not the GOLDEN MAKNAE of BTS after all. He’s a huge Global Popstar now.
I'm like pretty sure jungkook's seven top all charts around the world, it's top 1 on billboard Hot 100 for several weeks too😆
JK is a vocal chameleon. He can do a million things. He just always dreamed of being a global pop star so this album is in English and heavily past pop star inspired.
I've never heard so many lowkey offensive and wrong opinions in one video LOLL 😂. I hope you continue to learn about BTS and JK.
Same!!! So much wrong in this reaction video. If you are going to invite a reactor then the host of the reaction video should at least be able to speak on the basics of the group and their background.
I am surprised how she fit all that prejudice in her😂
Like implying that its just for teens music
Global= to us and canada somewhat
Not popular because she have not seen it ( makes me wonder how bad is she at her job) because he was in billboard top 10 for a while and bts even more
china /korea thing
Have dancer friends but did not know who brian purpos is even though she said he is cute so she did notice him.
it was ignorant af😂 almost like comedy skit
😅
AGREED!
When she said that she would know him if he is global 😒 It was uncomfortable to watch. The reaction was full of prejudice and misinformation. Hope she and her team research a little bit before making a reaction.
Jungkook is my favorite voice of all time. Perfection. Kookie 💜💜
BTS ARMY is from all ages and from all countries, i am 50 and from Turkey, you do not have to be 17 😅
More like to feel less weird and old to like him or feel attracted to him. Jk is my bias and I find him very attractive, but at the beginning felt a bit weird, because he is so young 😂
Poland here - over 46 y old admiring BTS for years! I am shocked you dont know BTS and all boys their own work
The songs JK performed here are from his solo album GOLDEN which are produced/written by western artists/producer, it is poppy and leaned towards western listeners, and the songs do not feature his greatest vocal but they topped not only the US charts but world charts too. Jungkook has perfect pitch and has showcased his vocal talents in his other past songs too. Here are some BTS/Jungkook live performances if you wish to listen to more "vocally" songs without dancing:

BTS write and produce most of their songs but they also collabbed with western artists as early as 2018 or maybe earlier -- Coldplay, Steve Aoki, Ed Sheeran, Halsey, Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Chainsmokers, Becky G, Charli XCX, Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendez, Honne, Lauv, Wale and many more!
You smiled when you were watching him. Watch yourself. See your own smile. That’s the power music and BTS can bring.
You don't hear this music on the radio because BTS and its members don't participate in payola...
Exactly! If you ask the numbers they are ruling the world already, but it doesnt show bc media and charts are based on payola and all kinds of fraud that BTS simply don't participate in...
