I was also told by a very prepared friend that he still rips his planned set of tracks onto CDs in case he turns up and the USB readers aren’t working at all (apparently this has happened once) I guess that would be a nightmare but at least you could still play……..
Fantastic video as always. As an experienced DJ coming from strictly viynal and now going digital, your channel has been a breath of fresh air. Great delivery and ideas. Throwing events is a massive undertaking and your understanding and willingness to share the pitfalls and hurdles of making it successful are paramount. A lot of things other than just being a dj have to be understood. Your comments about showing up on off days to support as well as things not to say to club owners are things everything should take note of. The pandemic has hit venues hard. Helping grow your local club owners goes noticed. 👌
Had a show last night and it felt like my tracks, when looped, were drifting even though I had them beat matched at first. Not until my last song did I realize that quantize was not clicked on. Definitely a learning experience.

I wanted to hear what you guys have to say cuz you guys have experience and an old school experience. Would it be better to get their Denon Prime 4 and use Denon engine Prime ?? I seen a terabyte drive work with engine. Plus they have streaming. But there's a lot of talk/recommendations about DJ 1000 and Record box unlimited Dropbox storage ??
@@DJ.Skyhawk When you insert your USB into a Pioneer CDJ, press menu then press load, all your personal settings will load onto the deck, or both/ all 4 if Linked ;)
So helpful! Showed up to a gig, and the house system was plugged into the laptops headphone jack. Thus I had no cueing abilities. I was forced to use sync. thankful I had prepped my cue points! Successful 3.5 hour set!
You so good in what your doing, love the way you analize everything, i m a old school dj, but i m in to the new stuf all the way, and even tho i don"t need to know the key or the bpm, wich i can tell by hearing a song, is still good to have all this teck at your fingertip. And yes, prepering some set or two, is essential, as you may find your self in a position of a mind block and you don't wanna be standing there with thousant ppl looking at you..playng rubbish at the end, always prepere a good good structur(set) for the event, so you can be fully confident and then you can ipmrovise much easier..

5 star Clubs and festivals do not use serato. This is for top level professionals only. All high end clubs use pioneer and recordbox. Local bars and some clubs bring your own hardware is fine. This is above that level.

Oh yeah, i use 3.1's - although the Pio decks are still running 2.0 as I believe, the Rekordbox prepared tracks transfer from your laptop in an appreciably quicker time

Same question as per your other USB video form 31st May 21 (Avoid USB issues when you DJ in clubs) - what is wrong with the SanDisk Extreme Pro 3.1? Had my mind set on getting these and now I'm slighty hesitant. Any help?
@@craigparry282 The issue is the 3.1's don't work with all club gear. I am not sure why but loads of people have experienced issues. This is copy and paste from Pioneer: Unfortunately not all USB drives are compatible with all our players. While USB standards exist, there are often incompatibilities between drive memory manager chips and the USB device host chips. This is not something that can be addressed via firmware and the only solution is to us a different USB drive, or possibly the same drive formatted to a different file system (eg. FAT32 vs HFS+).
Hey Andrew, hope you are keeping well, I have a dilemma, I went to import more music on my USB but it came up export error and It would not transfer, I formated the USB and reinstalled all the songs but now my xdj rx3 won't read the stick, I've noticed it has to be fat32, but my only options are ntfs and exFat, I don't understand as it has been working fine prior to this?
Denon is better but saddly no the "standard". Love that my prime 4 analyzes anything when anyone sticks their USB in it. I've had pioneer users play on my decks and always leave going wow wish they all did XYZ. Hoping pioneer catches up on the technology side of things. They are behind.

@@michaelcoleman8203 yes, and my settings on my USB are to have quantize on at 1 beat, but it wasn’t on for either of the CDJs.

USBs and club gear also don't have autogain like laptops do so be aware of some tracks not being the same volume
