Banden met Barrels - Short Docu

Banden met Barrels (2024) is a short documentary by Fenne van Beek, Jildou de Jong, Niko Oussoren and Puck Gregoor.
This documentary was created for the course “Moving Documentaries”, which is part of the second year of the Cultural Studies program at Radboud University.
In our documentary we want to shed a light on bicycles, and in particular, student bicycles. Because even though a bicycle is just a bicycle, this everyday object plays an important role in Dutch culture and especially in the daily lives of students. The student bicycles are essential in Dutch student life for their practicality and reliability despite their worn-out appearance. As will become evident in this documentary, the student bicycle can serve as a starting point for many conversations and two-wheeled journeys!
