I'm going to show you how to do an advanced dry manicure (sometimes referred to as a "Russian manicure."). We'll use small diamond bits to meticulously clean the cuticle and open up the cuticle pocket.
I used Erica's Micro Taper and Large Flame bits for the 'chicken wing' technique. Made in the USA with 100% natural diamond.

Thank you so much for these videos!!! I am really loving your bits and now I have so many more I want to order 😅 I had 2 questions: 1) for the detail bit, when you’re flossing down the side of the nail, are you evenly against the skin and the nail plate or are you trying to only touch the skin with the body of the bit? 2) I have never done any cuticle/skin work before so I didn’t realize how much thinner and more delicate the skin around my pinky nail is; all the other nails came out perfect but I can tell I overdid it on my pinky bc the skin is red and sore. Should I be using a lower RPM for that finger or do I need to switch from a medium bit to a fine bit? Or just use fewer passes? Thank you so much ❤️

Thank you for the kind words! To answer your questions, it's OK if you're touching the nail plate. If you experience soreness then do less passes or try using a finer grit.

These bits are sold separately, but we DO have these cuticle kits here: ericasata.com/collections/bits-kits?filter.p.tag=Cuticles&sort_by=manual

    What is a tear zone?

From what I understand and got the impression was, it’s the corner of your nail/cuticle area, where they usually split. when your cuticle is still attached to your nail bed and can’t take it anymore while growing forward it splits. They tend to hurt; for a few days.
If you push back your cuticles and separate the cuticles from the nail bed it does elevate the pain. But do it after a shower or after you have soaked your nails in some warm water for about 5 minutes.
Hope this helps you understand it better.

Is this considered a Russian manicure?
