I'm a nail tech and doing this is a game changer. I looked our country's regulations, and we're allowed to perform this. Since you're never too old, I've just signed up for a Manicure course. Like hair dressing, new techniques and products come up every few years.
Don’t do the cutting of the live skin, the reason its known as a Russian technique is because Russia doesn’t have any boards that are designed for regulating health and safety for the public. Removing the eponychium is a big no no, it’s live skin that gets confused for the cuticle ( the cuticle is the sticky stuff on the nail plate, it’s dead and CAN be removed) removing the eponychium ( the LIVE skin above the nail) heightens the risk for infection because that is the sole purpose of the eponychium, to protect the matrix and nails , and it grows back thicker because it needs to be there so the more these uneducated people remove it, the more the body creates a thicker skin barrier.
Oh yeah let me mention I got my license btw but from experience schools don’t really teach you what your gonna need to know in the field they just want your money
I redid half my hand with the Russian manicure technique. It’s so obvious which nails I did over. This technique fits my skill set far better. Time to finish fixing me nails using this technique.. !
Very pretty! I love watching you do cuticle work not only because it's relaxing but it also helps me to keep improving while learning different ways to do it as well! Thank you for sharing!
Anastasia - what do you feel about cuticle remover liquid? In many salons in the USA this product is used to soften the cuticles. Have you used this? Is it a good option to move faster?
@@SinfulKitty you can still have small hands with long fingers and larger nail beds, they look elegant and refined, meanwhile small nail beds look childish and bitten
Very Happy someone is bringing back natural- looking nails. When the lunula is showing the nails are healthy. I use a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers, But scissors look safer. Natural and French nails in my opinion look cleaner, lady like, and professional. And using nail forms again in my opinion is better than tips. ❤ Thanks for the video.
I didn't know that once a brush is used with polygel it shouldn't be used to apply "normal" gel. Perfect timing as I'm going to be using polygel for the first time this afternoon!! Why do the two products need to have separate brushes?
The cuticle band is there to correct the root from infection. Is so important to do theory as it's very important to know about what's going on with the nails. Good luck and good video.
I love this. May you share a link for a nail drill you recommend for a beginner DIY. I don’t plan on doing much, I’m only interested in applying short tips. Searching for a drill is super overwhelming.
Anastasia , what you are cutting is not the cuticle . It is the Eponynichium . The cuticle is the dry flaking substance we see when we push back the eponynichium . The dry flaky cuticle is what we remove . Here in the USA , in I believe all states , it’s illegal for licensed nail techs to cut the eponynichium ( skin ) off .
horsika97 I’m not here to argue with you .... but unfortunately the terminology she used is incorrect . You can look on a diagram . You’re excuse is not valid . Even non pros need correct terminology .
if cutting them is bad, what am i supposed to do with them? if i don't cut them (at least a bit) they tend to lift, tear, get dry and stiff... to me they just grow too much! maybe it's just my particular case? or should i suck it up? (i've already tried moisturizing regularly and it still doesn't work, it still grows too long, lifts and might get teared up)
M.house wife from Pakistan I love ur videos .....I never want to this bcoz I clipp my nail just after 2 weeks ...but I like ur creating skill n I relly enjoy it
How long does it usually take you for a manicure without gel/acrylic on top? I'm technically a beginner and myboss has quite high expectations about perfect results and for me to do it in a certain amount of time, so I'm asking for speed/perfection advise
The russian manicure is so perfect because here in Russia women pay a lot of money and they need to have beautiful and perfect mani. Also patriarchate requires women to be good-looking, and unfortunately, Russian women have to make a mani. Not all women, but most of them. Also they don't do only a mani. It's also makeup, hair, wearing good outfits, etc. You also might be curious why all Russian masters cut cuticula off without medicine diploma. They just need to be careful. That's it
Bahahahah!!! My son overheard the song and said, "Mom! Why are you listening to songs about cocaine?!?” 😂😂😂 I told him the song is in Russian, they aren't singing about cocaine... Did I lie to him??? 🤣😂😂😂
Anastasia. I like to use NSI Balance Hard Gel for Sculpting. I've never been brave enough to try poly gel as the base but always wanted to. A lot of Polygels are soft Gels so it's okay to use these Soft Gels under a Hard Gel??? Thank you darling.
how did you take off the sticky layer ? what products you used? How to you clean the brushes? What direction of rotation you use for left & right side of nail?
Hi Anastasia, once you finish buffing the cuticle and the sides. How do you clean the nails to perfection for the frame shot. I don't know what is the correct technique. I ask my clients to clean the hands just with water , but I feel that defeats the purpose of the dry manicure.
I absolutely love the look of Russian manicure 🤩 but my skin is to soft and thin and haven't that much cuticle. Some nail stylist's try to cut my cuticles, mostly they cut in my skin 😔 so I'm a little scared for it😬
Beautiful nail shape in the end as always sweetie! And 😊yes I also think that the design look like you have shorten the nails after a long extended nailbed😊 I must admit that I still dredd the scissors🙈 I like using my drill bits for that part😉 So I guess I need to practice on my own nails first so I can get more confident using them😉 Tfs xoxo 💕
Anastasia, I loved the music in this video! Actually, I like all the music you use! Would you please list the music in the description box? Can you tell me who's in this one? Thanks.
The scissors are nothing to mess around with. I got mine in the mail today and underestimated how sharp theyd be 😂 be careful yall. My poor cuticles are mangled
Your videos are always the best, your knowledge and skills are amazing! I don't have much cuticles but whenever I push them back and scrape the cuticle off my nail plate it actually opens up my eponichium, I don't understand why this happens because I do not cut anything, so now I just leave them alone out of fear of infection risk. Does this happen with anyone else here?
Yes actually. I don't have much either. That's why I can't wait to order the Melody Susie Scarlet drill so I can get better with my cuticle work. Like using the ball one to remove my cuticles. Maybe then it won't happen lol. I'm hoping anyway.

I really dig the Russian techniques. Another challenge for my self-taught journey
Makes sure you study theory. It's very necessary to damage the root from infection. It just the dead cuticle is removed. Good video.

Please go to school. Self taught is good but the law is the least if you plan on practicing on real clients that are paying.

In the Netherlands we learn never to cut the cuticle. But I think it looks so much better.
May i know why?
@@kindlejoy cutting them causes them to grow back even worse, rougher, more jagged edges, and can cause cuts that allow for infection
@@Kai-rc8cj if done correctly nothing bad will happen. If you don't keep doing it they will just go back to normal

If i understood what you meant, i think its totally normal for the eponychium to be lifted. Just dont go too deep
That's normal. Then you cut the lifted whitish skin carefully
