Hi Bader, I hope you see this but can you make a tutorial on doing the coolant expansion tank delete? And/or what is needed to fit an AMS intake manifold?
Thanks bro you really helped me with a lot of questions I had for the hoses.looked all over UA-cam and google and couldn’t find anything. You deserve a lot more views and like😁
Here I am to look for info as with all that boost I have after your tune my catch cans are not enough so I’m throwing in my AOS. I am using the pitch stop mount so I can route my hoses in a similar fashion and I’m deleting that ugly expansion.

Going from the stock intake manifold to the Ams. Do you delete the the solenoid sensors that sits under the manifold between the turbo inlet and alternator?
Hey man! Always loved the videos and your builds! A question, I’ve had a 350awhp 06 wrx, currently in the market for a 2006 (any Hawkeye) sti, and want to build it to a reliable 450-550 awhp How built do I go on the engine? What turbo would you most recommend? Any issues running that heater hose over the top of the motor? I guess the AOS is now the highest point but what's the reasoning behind the expansion delete? what do you do with the barb on the radiator?
I got a build almost identical to this but I could use some pointers on some things, I see you got 2 nipple for the coolant pipe, one of them would go to the throttle body, with you capping it off does that mean the throttle body nipple can be capped off too?
@_BaderBuilt so when bleeding the coolant system I just bleed from the radiator? Or is there something on the AOS that I also need to use for bleeding?
@_baderbuilt I need a little help on bleeding the system with the AOS installed. Do I just bleed the system from the radiator? On the AOS I do not see anything for bleeding its above the engine, wouldn't air get stuck in the AOS? I've got the AOS installed on my new engine I'm just waiting for my tuner to send me a tune and I want to be prepared when I do the first start. Thanks Bader
I should've brought my STI to you. Motion Lab fucked it up and then couldn't figure out why it was acting so strange. Turns out the wiring harness was damaged during the build. This was quite a while back tho. Bc ML has been shut down for a few years now.
I was gonna say I dealing with the whole Motion lab drama back when they had that white blob eye sti that made 800whp on their dyno. Customer brought it to us and it only made little over 500whp first pull on dyno and pushed coolant lol
Thank you. If you delete the expansion tank how do you bleed the cooling system, because now the highest point is the AOS? Also what do you do with the two smaller lines that go to the expansion tank from the radiator? Loop them?
Just a thought on the Cobb flex fuel location of the digital / analog converter (Thing that says COBB, made of aluminum) and heat. I've been seeing warranty issues where either the wire harness had build quality concerns or the main signal converter has heat soak issues. Being that its in a potted aluminum housing, have there been issues with mounting things where you did? I know COBB's install instructions show to put it on the manifold which my thought was to reduce heat related issues. The coolant pipe would be warmer than the intake overall, no?
Love your videos, but a quick question. I'm struggling between having oily vapors going back into intake but having less oil dilution (street series) vs keeping everything out of the intake but no vacuum pulling vapors out of crankcase (comp series). What do you recommend for me, e85 90% of the time, street car driven, no more than 500whp. Not a daily, mostly a cruiser but having fun every so often. Thanks
Very nice video! Just curious, is the AOS truly that difficult OR time comsuming to install? Ive bought the same AOS as here in your video but the directions were slightly confusing so I got a quote from COBB and they quoted me 5hrs labor for an AOS install and another local shop performance shop quoted 4 hours. It just doesnt seem that involved IMO, but if you could share if you believe 4-5hrs is about right or way overbid? Thanks!
I don’t support it or believe in it. None of my cars / build ever have used it and I don’t have issues making power or them staying together lol. I’ve had several customers who have bought that coolant mod and had several issues with their coolant system and heater core
A little late for the reply. But Iwire is a company that makes wiring harnesses and specialty harnesses. That being said, due to the relocation of the throttle body the plug is further away from where it would have been stock. So the factory harness wouldn't reach. Iwire makes an extension for this reason so the wiring wouldn't be an issue. -Steve
I have a brand new in the box TM Crawford AOS. Checking if the Crawford AOS can be utilized like the IAG Comp AOS to eliminate the coolant bypass reservoir?
I would highly advise the Crawford as well, I’ve ran them in the years prior and had nothing but issues with them getting clogged up on inside and smoking out breather under the car and not doing their job. I’d make the switch to the IAG, I’ve had my one on hyperblue since 2015 and always on a 400+whp or more car to now being on 1100+whp and never given me any issues in 60+k miles
I only run competition model so there is a piece that goes on there to replace that and has a single hose run to the ground. Otherwise the other 2 go back into your intake / turbo inlet and like to feed your engine oil 😁 lol street series is a joke.
_BaderBuilt no wonder I see oil in my turbo inlet and some on the turbo housing lol. I thought the street version would remove that but it sends it back I see. I have an Fp black turbo and when trying to install it’s hitting the bell housing. In the video it looks like it’s hitting the bell housing. Is that okay?
Out of curiosity, the expansion tank is supposed to be the highest point in the coolant system and has a cap there so that you can adequately burp the system. How can you burp this system when deleting the expansion tank if the AOS has no cap to do so? Air is going to rise to the highest point (AOS), so burping at the radiator is a no go. Just curious!
You can burp the system with a coolant filling funnel just fill the funnel a little higher than the engine you don't need the expansion tank so what Bader is doing is perfectly ok
Also, the acutal coolant direction is out of the cylinder head, up and out of the CHRA, through the AOS (preferably from the bottom to top) then back to the water pump for getting air out. But the AOS is still the highest point.
I use a snap on coolant funnel on radiator with front of car jacked up (if I have an issue) or on ground, never have an issue burping coolant system any longer than usual 👍
350-375whp is doable, but remember that the power curve on that setup would be completely different then stock. Dont pay as much attention to peak HP, if you have 350lbs of TQ hitting at 2800rpm and staying pretty flat to 7k, its going to be a rocket.
