Yeah, one of the biggest reasons we stopped doing these is because the AI got too good. Like in this case, where that is actually fascinating card design :D
I love these videos and I had an idea for another one. Two people take turns making 15 cards using Urza's AI like the start of this video. Then, give the decks you generated to two other people to play with. This way we have the fun of watching the cards get generated and the fun of watching people play with cards they have never seen before. Since you won't be playing with your own deck it could lead to friendly trolling, especially if you know who's getting the deck you make. I love the concept. Playing a game with it is much more interesting than just seeing what it spits out. My favorite was the game with Spice8rack because not reading them and being forced to make a play was endlessly entertaining.
I feel like a 'creativity' ought to be something like 'a permanent, with a one-time activation, that goes back into your library (or maybe even hand?) when activated'. Actually given that it's a 4-mana for drawing 2 cards and has to actually go out onto the board, where it's a bit more vulnerable than just an instant, maybe going right back to the hand would be balanced??? I figure the idea is functionally something like Foretell in practice where you basically cast instants for slightly more overall mana cost, but you pay it in installments instead of all up front.
I like this but, I also thought of an alternative possibility, a creativity is a non permanent card type that has abilities that you can activate while it’s on the stack.
My idea was to make a Creativity something like an emblem, where it goes to its own special zone instead of being a permanent. Perhaps limit it with "you can only have one Creativity of each color" to limit the power of effectively being able to cast emblems from hand.
I saw that the website had an option to generate a full 60 card deck based on the deck name. Maybe it would be fun to try out for one of these episodes
You should do a tribal version of this, each player picks an obscure creature type from magics history and all creatures have to have that type in it's name. Three re-rolls per player, free re-roll of a card got mangled or is not playable, if a card refers to another card: create that card as well (e.g. the combo must be playable, if a card says sacrifice xyz, xyz cannot be an instant)! Got Great card results with squirrels.
This really goes to show the difference between Limited and Constructed in which kinds of cards are good. In the games they played, the 5/5 for 4 Titans of Colossal Might were amazing. But in Modern, that creature would be unplayable while a 2 mana hard counter that draws you a card would see play everywhere.
I subscribed because I want to see more games of randomly generated MTG. I am also commenting and liking because I want more of randomly generated MTG showdowns.
hellish pupeteer, overhelming gargantua, the joy of the miraculous ones, fountain of youth and health, the adventures of umlag, dragons of the onslaugth day of the great reckoning these are some suggestions, hope they turn into some good if not goofy stuff
I would love to see you play two commander decks created by the Deck Creator on the bottom. Make them at least two colours (if you only use one it will try to make a planeswalker commander) and select a useful Deck name, like "sliver overload" or "Rampant Titans". Let them generate and play them blind.
A "Creativity" is a type of card that replaces the description of a permanent you control. Notably any permanent. Land, Artifact, Creature, Enchantment.
It's so amazing to me that the multicoloured spell that was only generated because of the 4/4 angel had a card drawing effect for controlling a 4 power creature
Enjoy watching the process of generating the cards, one thing i've seen is that it seems to heavily favor creatures and instants/sorceries (also loved spitting out blue human wizards??? thats probably just me though) I think i've only ever once seen it actually generate a multicolored card as well. It goes against the spirit of the process a bit but there are advanced settings which can allow you to set colors, subtypes, etc, a slightly more guided generation process that could in future be used to make a more focused deck/one with more synergies (particularly thinking of akroma and similar effects that literally just can't proc because the AI doesnt gen multicolored cards hardly ever)
After your first video I immediately played around with the site. I tried to make a rats deck, and not kidding ended up with a 3 mana 2/2 with the text: "whenever a creature dies return it to the battlefield under your control." Even better, it was called Butt Rats.
decided to give a go at making some cards and found some absolutely busted ones when trying to make legendary creatures first, there's one that just says "you gain 1 life for each artifact you control" and since this is on a creature and not an ETB trigger or anything, I'm guessing that's just infinite life if I get it in play alongside even just one artifact? the next one was just absolutely broken, though, as every time another creature I control dies I get to tutor for literally any card I please. don't even need to reveal it or anything. that thing would be insane
Love the content but I prefer when the players are surprised by the random cards while playing. Maybe next time you should make a list of names and have someone else generate them to keep the element of surprise.
Unfortunately the more advanced options, as well as Urza's AI now in general, are simply too good 😅 most people enjoyed these video because they are funny. The AI was just bad enough that this content is comedy. The tool now just generates reasonable magic cards. At which point people will usually prefer seeing cards they already know
@@CardmarketMagic well, consider that I, as an actual living breathing audience member, would 100% be interested in it but hey I mean it's your channel, right? I definitely can't hate on artists doing the art they want to do the way they wanna do it, so please don't take this as that

Hey, you can use the settings the website has to create actual multicolored spells! The AI apparently will simply not create multicolored spells unless prompted to in the settings. You can either decide to make it a specific mana value, or merely pick its color family/identity. Also, you could decide it's main type and subtype. So why not do instead X amount of random cards, do 12 cards 6 permanents of choice and 6 non- permanent. Idk, it'll be more fun to strategize what types you want

I like this but, I also thought of an alternative possibility, a creativity is a non permanent card type that has abilities that you can activate while it’s on the stack.
@@Vearru yeah, I thought about the same thing
My idea was to make a Creativity something like an emblem, where it goes to its own special zone instead of being a permanent. Perhaps limit it with "you can only have one Creativity of each color" to limit the power of effectively being able to cast emblems from hand.
@@Vearru I've been thinking that should be a feature of some instants, but giving it its own card type also works.
I saw that the website had an option to generate a full 60 card deck based on the deck name. Maybe it would be fun to try out for one of these episodes
Next time I'd like you to feed the AI "pot of greed", maybe this way we'll find out what it does
Please do more of these!!
Honestly love this series, keep it up!
Best series on the channel! Corner the market with your original playlist.
Missplay!
Good Wise Sphinx requires to sacrifice a Good WISDOM Sphinx to draw a card!
Having absolute blast with these videos.
That's so hilarious !
I'd love to see either Rootwallas (Rooting Rootwalla) or Phoenixes (Snowstorm Phoenix)
Huge improvement in playability haha absolutely love this series!!!
I subscribed because I want to see more games of randomly generated MTG. I am also commenting and liking because I want more of randomly generated MTG showdowns.
watching every card thoralf made somehow become a counterspell was so funny
I would love to see you guys try the deck builder on Urza's AI.
I could watch one of these everyday, such a unique idea.
hellish pupeteer,
overhelming gargantua,
the joy of the miraculous ones,
fountain of youth and health,
the adventures of umlag,
dragons of the onslaugth
day of the great reckoning
these are some suggestions, hope they turn into some good if not goofy stuff
Quite surprised Sports maship and fairness and empathy even made it to deck.
the guy's a professional, so of course he has to have sportsmanship
More of this content please.
This was rly fun. I would like to see more. But maybe in the feature the players should use words like "dragon" or "elf" to get some creatures =)
It's so amazing to me that the multicoloured spell that was only generated because of the 4/4 angel had a card drawing effect for controlling a 4 power creature
Glad this turned out to be a series
I suggest having a look at constructing a deck from their discord server's card pool. OR playing a game of draft from their cube pool
I was just like they sound so German and lo and behold, looks like they’re actually based in Germany
2 Card suggestions:
"1 step forward, 2 steps back"
"Convenient inconvenience"
Niiice!
Could you guys make list with all the generated cards?
I miss the other game's ones!
MAKE AN AI LEAGUE OR DRAFT !!! Would watch every day
"Really thinking very, very hard" has even stronger nothingcore energy than Tark's Flowstork.
After a few of these match ups where you generate the cards, you should combine some of these wacky decks to see what happens.
After your first video I immediately played around with the site. I tried to make a rats deck, and not kidding ended up with a 3 mana 2/2 with the text: "whenever a creature dies return it to the battlefield under your control."
Even better, it was called Butt Rats.
Call me immature, but Butt Rats is great 😅
@@CardmarketMagic haha thank you! I was running out of rat names and am also immature. I'm glad that THAT had to be the broken card.
decided to give a go at making some cards and found some absolutely busted ones when trying to make legendary creatures
first, there's one that just says "you gain 1 life for each artifact you control" and since this is on a creature and not an ETB trigger or anything, I'm guessing that's just infinite life if I get it in play alongside even just one artifact?
the next one was just absolutely broken, though, as every time another creature I control dies I get to tutor for literally any card I please. don't even need to reveal it or anything. that thing would be insane
Love the content but I prefer when the players are surprised by the random cards while playing. Maybe next time you should make a list of names and have someone else generate them to keep the element of surprise.
MOAAARRRRRRRR
I would love to see what some of the recent models could do with this concept, also you should definitely be using the Advanced Options
Unfortunately the more advanced options, as well as Urza's AI now in general, are simply too good 😅 most people enjoyed these video because they are funny. The AI was just bad enough that this content is comedy. The tool now just generates reasonable magic cards. At which point people will usually prefer seeing cards they already know
@@CardmarketMagic well, consider that I, as an actual living breathing audience member, would 100% be interested in it
but hey I mean it's your channel, right? I definitely can't hate on artists doing the art they want to do the way they wanna do it, so please don't take this as that
@@aabrightlove I'm happy that you'd enjoy it and we do have fun making the AI card videos even when they are not funny, but we saw it in the retention rates that people click off on the less funny cards. We unfortunately have to follow the numbers 🤷♂️
@@CardmarketMagic hmm... how do I put this... there's an old adage I think that sums my ideas up nicely: "art is worth making, even if it doesn't sell."
So, really, make what you wanna make how you wanna make it!~
if this isn't what you wanna make, don't! but if you do, then do! screw the rules you have art to make!
@@aabrightlove hahaha, no, really. Given that I love making anything MTG related and that any of the other content we make is equally as fun, I'd much rather do things that as many people as possible enjoy :) I'm not doing this for myself, these videos are for the community
Hilarious and hype. Another awesome video!
"In the future, entertainment will be randomly generated"
First card Urzas generated for me was a Planeswalker with "[+1] Destroy target nonblack creature"
This was the strongest argument for 2 factor authentication I've ever seen
Love so much those videos 😍😍
Super Dragon Bomber: 5/5 dragon for 4R, enters with 5 +1/+1 counters and has first strike and flying as long as it has a +1/+1 counter on it
Had one card that put your entire graveyard pile back into your deck second from the top. Which I thought was hilarious
I'd love to see a variation of this where you guys generate ten cards and then get five real Magic cards to try and make your deck as OP as possible
My suggestion for a Card in a future episode would be: "Clean Fight"
Love both different types of AI generated videos! Some of the hardest I have laughed in years😂
Would you ever consider doing the other option where it creates a deck given a name and mana base? If not, a suggestion for a card “Endless Infamy”
Thank you for the card suggestion! People have suggested the deck deck builder before, unfortunately, we probably will never make content with it. The draft portion of the cards is a large part of the video. If we were to simply use decks without drafting them, we'd much rather use the roborosewatwr cards 🙂
You should try the deck builder on Uzras ai. You just need an name and color to get an entire deck
That would remove the best part of the video? 😅
