@@lancesudberry209 I find silver premiums to be down. I don't know why you would think they are up. Silver eagles were selling for $35 last year and this year they are still selling for $35. So the premium is actually lower as the price of silver has gone up the premium has relaxed.

The destruction the economy is on purpose. They want to usher in their ‘digital currency’. Total control of the economy. I don’t think it’s going to happen in the US. To many states fighting it, congress has to approve it. People don’t want it. The central bank is in a quagmire about it. Trump was not supposed to win. He’s supposed to be gone by now and they are out of time. They have no presidential candidate. They’re screwed so path they have left is world war and postponing the election. I don’t think that’s going to happen, at least not yet. Dont be surprised if they don’t blatantly out in the open attempt to ghost him. They already have tried doing it under the table. It’s not going to work. Next few months it’s going to get very hot and wild.

Value is therefore always extrinsic and must never be conflated with intrinsic characteristics or properties. 👍

I thought silver wasn't really meant to be an investment? More of an insurance policy against inflation so you maintain your purchasing power.

In HS, a geometry test question was to prove the Pythagorean theorem, which states that in a right-angled triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides. Seeing your title, I watched the video, intruqued by how you would provide a regimented proof. Alas, I found no such thing. But you don't have to prove the value of gold and silver to me.
If you are looking at precious medals as investment, by all means stack with 'rounds' and gold coins where you can liquidate them the fastest once the value meets your sell criteria.
If you are looking for a secondary type of currency as the dollar weakens ( thanks to our brainless politicians in DC that print billions to send to other countries) buy 90% silver in 10/25/50 cent and $1.00 denominations. In today's spot price, as an example, 4 1964 Washington Quarters are worth about $22-23.

I wouldn't be shocked if gold reached 10k some day. That would put silver at $125. Still seems cheap to me considering bitcoin is digital and is a ridiculous price. Men have lost their lives mining silver and gold and lots of work goes into the finished product. I know $30 is cheap and regardless of manipulation it is an asset i like to have and save.
help us understand your interesting view. since you consider the rise of bitcoin to have reached a ridiculous price why do you think when gold rises to 10K, that price would not be ridiculous.

Premiums aren't down at my LCS. I checked today...
I also asked them what they were buying generic silver rounds for and they told me $4 under spot. Is that bad? Is it time to check the other LCS's?
Volatility greatly erodes fungibility. Fiat does better, in these times, from what I have seen in history thus far, IMO, because its "value" is more 'agreed upon' when attempting to exchange without access to the latest 'news' or 'internet.' By the time an economy has 'stabilized' again enough for wholesalers to pay retailers AND sell at trading floors within 30 days or fewer, the 'system' will be made anew and will obey its new creators. Will it be our system without having planned it? For the first time, we see a possibility/reality for ONE currency/govt., which would benefit itself by crashing itself and reshuffling value and wealth. With this new position, concentrated power either becomes more concentrated or it loses to a plan made better. Why would anything with absolute power allow the slaves to trade with the same values as it trades with? Why not own mining and industry and use resources within an entirely separate level of economy? Seems possible, if not antique. Debanking coin shops, heavily regulating prices and trade... . If we cannot eat it, or sell it, it becomes heavy and impractical. Mines first to invest after war disasters, all that stuff left behind.

We'll know the dollar is worthless when nine of them (~1 sq ft of cloth) is worth less than 1 sq ft of toilet paper. Currently a 3-ply toilet paper is about $0.03. So, how soon until one square foot of toilet paper costs more than nine $1 bills?
