- If you save seeds from your green onions you'll never have to buy seeds again! The seed saving process is so simple and such a great way to build your own seed supply. If your green onions bolt and head to seed just let them be and once the seed pods fully mature you can collect the seeds.

Is there a video on broccoli seed harvesting? I let the best grower and producer go to flower and now there are pods but not sure when they'll be harvestable.

Thanks for the easy video. So, green onions aren't like some other veggies that go bitter when they flower/bolt... You can let them flower and still eat them fine?
Correct, once they bolt you can leave the center stalk that has the seed head and then harvest the outer green onion leaves. They still taste great. In time if they get overly mature they don't taste as good but if you continue to harvest then new leaves will continue to grow back. And then I just continue to re-seed all throughout the year to have a continuous supply of younger green onions growing as well 😊

Do I have to continue watering the green onions once they flower?
Yes I would during the hot weather, you don’t have to water them quite as often but if your goal is to collect seeds you want to make sure you keep the plants alive until the seeds are fully developed.
