The challenger won the nato tank challenge recently. Uk crew beat all comers including us abrams and leopard 2 etc. main issue is uk doesnt have enough of them. I think its only 187 tanks or close to that!
Great video! Straight up honest: I could not live with the factory paint jobs .They just look so....like a toy. To put all that money in on these amazing RC tanks and leave them painted like that is a disservice as they are so easy to paint and weather that it's really worth it, and, damn fast to do since they are so big. One rattle can, one medium bottle of tamiya panel weathering. a day or two later.(only for letting the paint dry) Wow. Wish I could paste an image here!
I have 5 tanks, repainted all and weathered. Great if you don't want to spend two weeks assembling like a Tamiya kit. Just crack on modding and repainted, the fun bit.
hi from New Zealand, good video thank you, just bought one after watching this, she looks very nicely assembled, this is my 3rd heng long and have to say Im pleased overall with the tanks, I did need to tighten a lot of wheel screws and adjust tracks and grease one side of the gearbox on the Tiger pro version, (some quality control issues still) shes a bit to heavy for her own good, but once sorted goes beautifully, one just has to understand they will pickup rocks, grit, grass and dirt, which can cause a track to come off just like on the full size tanks eh? but for the price they are very good value, but dont buy one unless you are prepared to look after it, heng long have come a long way, happy hobbies to you all.... ( Tank Girl)
I do have the Challenger II, prior model, and I noticed the plastic pieces both front and back pop off when running around. I lost a couple of pieces already, so my advice is to glue them on. If something breaks, well glue it on again. It is big and does make a presence and is enjoyable to run around outside. Stay away from small twigs and things cause they get caught up in tracks and make a mess with the drive train.
I plan to collect and do a modern Tank collection , the Russian T90 and the Challenger are my favorite , want to mod them also with new Clark boards for sound and change the screws to magnets and so on.

Great paint scheme I have had mine for a good couple of years and it is plain desert paint they look much better with the shading detail picked out I may do that with mine, j Also just glued all small bits in place as afraid of losing them
Smoothbore cannons will always be more advantageous than rifled ones. The smoothbore cannons are just as accurate as rifled cannons, they can fire more variations of ammunition, and they have longer lifespans than their rifled counterparts. The British army is actually planning on replacing their existing rifled tank cannons with smoothbore cannons.
Rifled cannons provide HESH with the best attributes for any HE based round and provides better anti building and infantry capabilities than HE-FS, HE-MP or omni purpose HEAT. But yeah the UK should hopefully swap over the the L/55 when the MOD updates the challenger 2.
@@zhaoyun3153 only for anti tank purposes, and for the most part the days of tanks fighting tanks are over, why would you send an abrams to attack a t90 when you could not risk your tank and use a TOW, apache or just drop a guided munition from a jet, none of which risk your multi million dollar tank or its crew.
@@alpha1games Because that is what a tank is designed to do, fight other tanks. Otherwise, what is the point in having the damned thing if it isn't going to fulfill it's purpose? Not to mention, when you send an attack helicopter or a multi-purpose jet, you risk losing them to enemy weapons as well. Losing an apache or a warthog, honet, strike eagle or falcon is even more expensive and consequential than losing an abrams. Just because tanks battles are rare these days doesn't mean that they can't happen.
@@zhaoyun3153 an mbt is designed for multipurpose use, primarily combined arms, and when you send in a tank to fight another afv it's far more vulnerable than an apache firing a longbow hellfire and leaving within a very short period of time, instead of having a drawn out long range battle in which the armoured vehicles are slugging it out with the possibility of getting out flanked, And majority of places where modern mbts have seen combat have fought against other tanks, the foes they've been against have been using dated equipment that could be destroyed using older tanks, such as 73 easting. Why would you purposely put troops in danger just because tanks in ww2 expected to see Armoured foes?

Hi there, nice review, when you turn the tank in place with the turret still - it that a feature or are you manipulating both controls? Either way looks great amd scale.
All movements are independent of each other. You can drive it, or rotate turret or elevate and depress the boom independently. Its fun to try and manipulate them all at once for that scale appeal
This honestly is perfect, everything is great about it worth the price (im curious if it can perform well in normal offroad like dirt hill small and medium or just dirt and grass) maybe the suspension wuold look more realistic if it was heavier.
Motion Rc pls listen to this I love the flakpanzer gepard and it would look so cool as heng long is there a way I could ask them to consider it bc I love the gepard

It happens, sometimes multiple bbs try to get in the tube at once, give it a shake and tilt it toward the cannon barrel. Sometimes they get stuck. It's just gravity fed
Just so you know, the shape of the Challenger you see, is not the actual shape of the armour. I know because I was a mechanic in the British Army who worked on CR1 and 2.
How do u open the smoke covers? mine won’t budge at all and i dont want to break them edit: they’re glued but I don’t know who glued them or why. also, is there a way of disabling the BB function. I only use the IR system and i hate how the BB mechanism delays the “firing”.
@@MotionRC cool thanks, looks like the Challenger 2 is next. What about the size of the Abrams compared to the Leo and Challenger? I know they're 1/16, I've got 3 Heng Longs and an OG Tamiya King Tiger. I did have a HL King Tiger, and the size and molding were almost identicle.

My the bbs didn't come out the cannon.

I try everything except tearing it apart.
This is my first rc tank ever and support to be new and work out of the box. It works just not the cannon 😢
The Smoke Generators on these are questionable at best.

Thanks for watching. Challenger would be a little larger as this whole line is 16 scale so the challenger is a bit bigger in real life.
