Not that I don’t love your videos you post from the nursery, because I do, but it’s nice to be back at the flower farm with you doing cut flower things again! Your channel has evolved in the last several months and this kind of brings me back a few years when I first started watching your videos when everything was cut flowers.

Loved this tulip planting method. My husband helped me plant bulbs one year. He dug up shovels full of dirt, dumped in my mini daffodil bulbs, then threw the dirt back over them in clumps. Those were the ones that bloomed best. Go figure! I'm sure your mass planting will be fine.

Your videos bring much comfort and joy. Please continue to include Tractor Driver Brad in your videos. I would be willing to bet that Brad has a smile on his face as he drives the tractor. He reminds me of my Dad when he used to drive the snowplow with a big smile!! Keep up the good work Brad.

Love how you planted your Tulips. The last time I planted Tulip bulbs the darn raccoons dug them all up, and ate pieces of them. Pieces were all over the place. I was furious, now I don't plant them because I don't want to lose all that money again.

This is great, last weekend I planted 7000 tulips and we used the JCB to dig a trench just like you (normally I do by hand) but I placed mine in individually. Now I’ve seen this I’ve got another 1000 to go and I’m going to try your method of tipping those in and just levelling them out. This is a real game changer!! No more hot baths needed or hand cramp!!! Thankyou

My mother's favorite flower was Lupine and that is what is engraved on her headstone. (Lupine field....) It is quite lovely. Thank you for everything you do!! :)

Really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for sharing this strategy! I am undertaking my biggest planting ever with about 3000 tulips this year so Iwas looking for pointers on how to not have it be an exhasting chore this fall. My favorite part was the ending where you sang about tiptoeing through the tulips. I remember this feeling of carefree exhuberance I enjoyed in my garden planting tulips every year when my husband was still living and my world was bright and beautiful. I hope I get that carefree joyfulness back again some day and was delighted and tickled to see it in you. May yours last long. May it "bloom and grow forever." :)

I saw a Floret video where they visited a local tulip farm to watch the tulips bring planted en mass - they used big machinary to plant tulips ... Definitely didn't place in neat rows w pointy side up - they used some kind of mesh on top and bottom to make it easier to harvest bulbs later, since they're not growing them for flowers. But I've done the touristy thing (I live in E. WA) & have visited those tulip farms during the spring, and the flowers are amazing. So yeah, I think it works! You should have a beautiful harvest!! ❤

If I had to plant on the scale that you do, would do the same thing; bulbs are resilient...so I'm sure it will work. Am still digging trenches and packing them tight (which I never used to do years ago)...it worked out perfectly last year. I do have to cover with netting, held down with garden staples, otherwise the squirrels will go to town. When I see the first green growth I pull up the netting. While still cleaning up the garden and more bulbs to plant...already looking forward to spring.

I heard a tip to keep critters away. After covering up your bulbs with soil, sprinkle a little Repelz-All. I wish I'd heard that before I planted grass seed.
🐿️🐿️ They're so curious around freshly worked soil.

I'm so glad you found an easier way to grow your tulips. Planting tulips is not enjoyable. But by spring we forget that work and enjoy the beauty.
I still have some bulbs left to plant which I'll do now in MY zone 4 b garden (Minneapolis). Nowhere near the amount you had.
I'm happy to hear your customers like the doubles. I have a bag of almost black tulips that are doubles. I have a few pink and merlot I may plant among them so they stand out.
I have a couple fringed varieties and am really looking forward to seeing them.
I also have a few daffodils and will mass plant them and be done for this season.

I find myself really captivated every time I watch one of your videos. As others have said, I think it's your down to earth nature, and that a person who loves flowers and flower bulbs can't possibly be bad haha. I was moved to see if I could find bulbs on sale late in the season while I was watching, and ran across both Negrita and Foxy Foxtrot, and they were both sold out. I've grown Negrita before and it's just so darn gorgeous! I'm looking forward to seeing how your new planting style works out, and I bet it'll be just fine. Until next time, thanks!

So useful and timely -- I'm not a flower farmer, but I have some large new beds created by a masonry landscape project and, while eventually there will be shrubs and perennials in these beds, I thought, what the heck, why not do a mass tulip planting for this spring? I am now much less concerned about orienting each of the bulbs -- was not looking forward to that. I suspect a lot of bulbs would be just fine if we didn't bother to put the pointy side up.
