Those New Idea Unis are so universal. I can remember my dad working for a seed corn company back in the 70's & 80's using a similar power unit paired up with a husking bed for ear corn. There was also a seed corn grower in the area that had one with both a husking bed for ear corn & a shelling unit. Thanks for posting & stay safe.

I worked a farm with a NI machine like this but you could either run a silage chopper grass head or a combine. The thrasher came out and the chopper was lifted in. I think it was called a UNI

I seen no horses pulling that harvester so they must push from the back. LOL. Just kidding, I watch to much youtube. I too farm with that kind of stuff. Vintage. Doug

The Uni's are nice since you don't have to run over any corn getting started.

Massey1105driver yeah that's all it's used for since it doesn't have a kernel processor.

Howard Younger thanks it is very tall but the ears are quit small. The picture at the end is of my cattle back in the spring

How do you feel about the flow of corn through the head? It looks like it can gather a bunch before it feeds through. A neighbor had a uni a few years a go. I wish he would have told us he was selling it. I really want to find one with a picking unit.

Boehm Farm that is the weak point of the system. As long as the corn in even it will feed good but once it changes it's prone to plug the head. I would like to find a newer head the one on it is a early model.
