John P.Thanks alot for demystifying the hero's journey by using three popular stories.Long may the hero's journey be an enriching part of all our lives.
I'm teaching this to my 6th graders right now as they read Percy Jackson. I used a great TedEd video to help explain the Hero's Journey, but this video here is wonderful with all its connections to familiar movies. Thanks a lot!!
This video was very well done and the subject matter was very interesting. Shed light on a few things. Definitely a pattern I can see having had occurred before in my life. Very cool.
+John P Morgan Coaching No, thank you. I enjoyed it a great deal and got a lot out of it. Had to do a paper recently on the Hero's Journey and coming across this video helped me understand. It was actually really fun to learn about.
Saw an interview of Zack Snyder & He spoke about how a Hero's journey inspires him & how he uses it for his movies.I see a lot of similarities & patterns for the Superman story he's decided to tell. This video is great.
I like this video. I have identified “The Wizard of Oz” story already. With some, I find that they are yet to kill their “wicked witch of the west” before they can “go home to Kansas”, which they every capacity in doing in the first place! - I find that there is no point moaning about who I am and/or who I am not. The fact is, I am who I make myself. It is a choice! By a “hero” doesn’t mean that I must be a Spartacus however, but I can be my own Spartacus-like “hero” for me and for those who I love. Interdependence, teamwork, is the key I find, but those that you love need also to join in with you and have faith with you are developing for the better.
Cool video. I liked it. But just constructive criticism, it seemed rushed or poorly constructed. Like at one point you completely missed a step with wizard of Oz. You switched the order a few times and that was jarring. And even the first or maybe second step, being a mundane life leads to the desire of more is perfectly embodied in "some where over the rainbow". I can't complain. I can't do better if I tried. But just seemed a bit sloppy. Anyway, I did enjoy it. And take care.

Dorothy Kilonzo you're welcome! I suspect it will live as long as humanity does!
