The Elements starts with the Cleanness, a simple op amp buffer and booster with active tone controls for bass, mids, and treble. A few things were added to this platform such as the option to limit the bass into the gain stage, three midrange frequency options, clipping diode options of LEDs, asymmetrical silicon/LED, or no diodes at all, and then the high gain mode puts a second gain stage into the circuit that the previous options all affect.
The circuit goes like this:
Buffer ... Midrange control (I just think it sounds best at the front!) ... Bass limit toggle ... Gain stage (same as Cleanness) ... Gain option toggle ... Second gain stage ... Bass control ... Treble control (I just think bass and treble go best at the end!) ... Buffer
The mix control is at the output and when set dry (knob down all the way) the signal only goes through the input buffer stage and then connects with the output buffer of the wet path.
It's got soft touch relay based true bypass switching, 9-18VDC operation, fancy 4 layer pcb with internal power and ground planes plus bottom layer ground plane, the expression jack on the side is for the clean blend/mix and around 50k is good, the box is a 125B same size as the new Trem, and a lifetime warranty.
Dr. Scientist Sounds The Elements Distortion (Nature) Features:
Natural distortion with endless possibilities
Soft touch relay true bypass switching
9-18 volt operation
Three band EQ
This guy isn't waisting mouvements on that fretboard. I've rarely seen such dexterity. Finger tips always close to the fretboard. Incredible playing.
this is my favorite demo of all time
I absolutely love this guys abilities on the strings. John McGeoch-esque Post- Punk to Prog Rock to Santana, Jimmy Page teasers. Almost mocking (in a fun way) all the classics, and Way more than just a Rocker going on here. This pedal has my attention. It has layers and big fat tires and everything. Paging Mr. Herman (Pee-Wee's Big Adventure). Came for the pedal and left a Mike Herman Fan. Thanks Prymaxe, & Mike-
Dude, I have seen a lot of your demos, but your playing in this one is just sick. Well done.
This is amazing, Mike, thank you so much! Geez you rule!
Been watching your pedal demoes for about about 4 hours nonstop or even more today. Because your high quality videos here. I'll quess that you could make any amp or pedal sound great anytime with any gear. Made me buy this and some other cool pedals Thanks for your awesome videos, stay allways as awesome keep Rocking On!

And sorry for my bad English. :P
Incredible demo of a very feature-rich pedal. Nice!
Fantastic demo!!! You definitely helped me decide to purchase this pedal.
Wow, look at all those useful features, sounds a little dark but very smooth, almost smoky. Could be a good combo with my cathode bias 15watt head and Eminence Cannabis Rex.
Hey. I listen to everything. Hendrix, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Jeff Beck, Zeppelin, Wayne Krantz and Lionel Loueke are my favorites. But I try to listen to all styles
killer riff and mix, the production is amazing, the pedal allow for a lot of aplications
I took a lab with him. Great player and super nice guy!
Thanks. The video is in sync, I was using a reverse setting on the Timeline delay...
nice playing! pedal does sound good.
Great pedal with many useful sounds!
Thank you very much man. This videos are amazing and also share incredible pedals
Thanks! I love your pedals!
Thanks! The Elements is great
Very versatile!
where are you getting these killer riffs? do you just make them up for the videos? those first two tunes. so good. sounds very tom morello
Adorei comprei o meu ontem, no Btasil este pedal e muito raro so deve ter o meu.
Ronildo Barbosa depois, futuramente, o meu.. Se Deus permitir
awesome demo! at 5:22 the music isn't in sync with the video, but never mind. sounds great!
It seems to be a good sound tool.
Thanks for watching!
As the gain goes up notice how the tone is sucked out. A pricey way to access scratchy silicon harshness, and even this guy can't rescue the higher gain sound.
Two on board would nice.
Cool stuff! Would you recommend this over the Earthquake Talons?
I'd like to know who Mike Hermans' biggest musical influences are. I need to go do some listening and riff stealing!
oh-my-god the tone. I need to find 225 quids.
Is this the most versatile pedal ever made? I fucking want one
Mike, when you were at Berkley did you take any of Tomo's classes?
some demo vids are no good because the guys making vids can barely play. On the other end of the spectrum is Mike Hermans, who could make a petrified dog turd sound good. I love watching his vids, not because of the demos (because honestly they are not good, because he plays SO WELL), but because he is extremely creative, and highly skilled!!!!
I play Strats into Fender/Two Rock type amps. I'm looking for a great but versatile blues inspired lead tones. I've got my base tone and a tubescreamer clone but I'm looking for something a little more unique. Talons maybe?
Alexmag24 Alexmag24 It seems that this is one of the most versatile dirt pedals out there. The Talons is great but, this appears to have several different dirt types of pedals in one. Tube Sreamer, Rat, Klon, Blues Breaker and some of the heavier Friedman kinda things, getting into borderline fuzz. I’m thinking that this could really free up the pedalboard. You can get them around $150 on Reverb in excellent condition.
kinda pricey but sounds reaaally meaty
it's sounds like fuzz at hi gain level ...is this a fuzz and distortion pedal?
overdrive distortion and fuzz all are the same fucking thing
Definitely not the same thing 😂😂
Timmy + Morning Glory + ...
Sorry for mis spelling Berklee.
Is this for people that don't have tonestacks on their amp?
The eq is for the distortion, not the bypass tone.
great playing !who cares about the pedal !
